Bought the ADS-2200 and a week or two later I was quarantined at home with 5 boxes of files and I'm still at work. This scanner is perfect for 99% of that task, also appreciate the Brother iPrint & Scan software, very flexible.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Old Photo scannert I bought this to digitize old family photos with writing on the back. It works great simultaneously scanning both sides. The software is the issue. It only generates PDFs dual sided. The only other option is JPG but you get 2 seperate images that are sequentially numbered. I'd like maybe one JPG or 2 jpgs with the same number but a b for back. Resolution is fixed at 300 or 600 dpi. And no JPG adjustments. But if you like PDFs, you can put a scan set in the hopper and it all goes into one PDF.

I wish you could scan in multiple groups without stopping after each group and assigning the name, which my previous scanner had that function. Otherwise it is a great scanner

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazingly Awesome This document scanner is amazing, its fast, accurate and less time consuming than all the others I have had in the past. I would have to say this pretty much scanned an entire refinance in less than 5 minutes, instead of taking around 3 hours on my 5 in 1. Love it !! Oh I didn't have to sit there and swap the settings either, went from standard paper to legal without touching it. Only thing I do not like is that it doesn't have wifi. Misread the package. Oh well, life goes on.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to use Simple to use. My only comments would be: 1. the step by step instructions are not specific enough for each scanning scenario. 2. There should be some mechanism to pause a scan so that you can add more pages beyond the 50 page limit or some way to combine 2 or more pdf files scanned. This would expand the use of the machine to benefit users and probably sell alot more of these machines.

Scanner: I participated in a market research study and received the Brothers ADS-2200 Desktop Scanner to evaluate. My home office does not have one. This being a desktop scanner, it worked very well. It kept up with the needs of a home and office. Installation: Overall, installation was not too easy. I ran into a few error codes, but quickly worked through them; with the provided instruction manual. It does not come with USB data transfer cable. I had to purchase one. And it does not come with the extra software the installation software. It required me to go to the extra software`s website for it. Aside from those, the rest of it was simple.Operation: The Brothers ADS-2200 Desktop Document Scanner works well. It has a simple one button push to start scanning. You can load quite a bit of paper or photos in to the auto feeder. It fed them through, without any problem. I was scanning as much as thirty sheets of paper at one time. It worked wonderfully. Pictures, too! I scanned a company event and some old pictures, and it fed them right on through. It is quiet, unlike a scanner I had last year. I would attempt to get work done while my children were napping, they would often go work up from the noise. For the price, it Last, but certainly not least; it is small. It does not take much room on my work station. With me working from home I cannot have a full-size office desk. I have standard size computer desk and file cabinet next it. That is where it sets, it fit there perfectly.! Problems: There are only really three things that I had a problem with. The first problem was the extra software not being included on the actual installation software was inconvenient. I still have not gone to the other sites to get it. Secondly, a cord not being included, for the price one should have been included. Lastly, it has no internet connectivity. A lot of people like to keep their scanners in a separate location, then their desks. I especially like to since I have small children.Price: I thought it be a little expensive, for a Desktop Scanner. I would have to suggest that the price range be lowered.

I really like the Brother ADS-2200 because it is small and doesn`t take up much space on my desk. The instructions came with photo examples and easy to follow set up. I`m looking forward to scanning all my old photos and making photo books for my family as gifts! This is something you can`t purchase and usually we don`t take time to do. So the photos are stored in boxes, maybe in an attic or basement and end up ruined.

It was fairly easy to hook up to my computer and the instructions are written well so you know what to do. This scanner is reasonably sized for what it can do. Scans documents fast and you can save to almost anywhere on your computer. Super fast and can scan up to 50 pieces at once. Perfect for any office.

Ease of assembly, instructions: The setup was very simple with instructions and illustrations of the setup well explained in the manual. One more thing I liked is that the number of parts during assembly was so less. It took just 5 mins to assemble!Product storage: Super compact scanner- love the portability. It hardly took any space on my desk. Speed: As the name suggests, the speed of scanning is amazing. I could scan 50-60 bills from an official trip in a matter of 20 mins. It used to take me more than an hour in my printer-scanner-copier machine. And the bills were in different sizes. I was also not worried about the bills not being aligned correctly. I have not tried duplex scanning thoughWi-fi: One feature that let me down was the wi-fi connectivity. I wish we could connect to a network so I need keep bundling the scanner and laptop all the time. Probably this feature should be incorporated in the future models. Overall, I just love my new scanner. Super portable, easy to use and finishes the work in a jiffy!!

The ADS-2200 scanner arrived in a small and lightweight box. The unboxing experience was smooth, and all the components were properly organized and easy to find. The assembly part was perhaps the most straightforward step of the experience. I literally assemble the product without looking at the instructions in less than 5 minutes. Of course, I then looked at the instructions and ensured that everything was in place. The manual was clear and offered step by step instruction along with pictures which enhanced the user experience. I chose to connect the scanner to my computer (Windows) via the LAN connection. I successfully established the connection with my 1st attempt. I then proceeded to download and install the Brother installation package as instructed on the manual.The functionality of the scanner was unremarkable. The document feeder worked as expected and the scanned documents were directed to the computer as stated by the company. What I love about the product:I love the simple and lightweight design. I work from home; therefore, I am a fan of space saving products. The easy interface is top-notched!!! Especially that you can scan 2-sided documents with a press of a button. This feature alone is a huge time saver along with the quick scanning process. I am excited to test its functionality with my mobile device which is another fantastic feature. Overall the scanner over-delivers in every aspect of my concerns despite the fact that 1/2 the size and weight of my former scanner. I recommend this scanner to anyone who enjoys, simplicity, compactibility, and efficency!

It`s easy to scan several pages at a time or several pages separately. I was not able to connect it to my computer so I`m using it with a thumb drive but that works well enough. It is set up on a shelf in my office and I use it almost daily for my job. It`s a good product that makes my scanning needs a lot easier.

This is a very good scanner. Ease of us is a no brainier. It is amazingly fast and scans both sides on one pass. Document feeder works perfectly. All my scans look great. I like the very small size of the scanner, it barely takes up any footprint. The scanner needs no assembly other then snapping on the feed tray. The software including drivers for this scanner need to be downloaded from BROTHER. No disc comes with it. Set up is a little different then the instructions say but easy to figure out nonetheless. The downloaded software package is pretty good. The help guide with the software is easy to use and answers all your questions on how to use the scanner & software including how to utilize the OCR software. I also like the ability to scan business cards into a database. Only drawback on this scanner though it was not not a biggie was that it is not wireless.

As a small business owner, I find the need to be able to scan documents on a daily basis. It was very easy to set up in my office. It is on the big-and-heavy side, but small enough keep on my desk. I had the choice of connecting directly to a PC via USB or connecting to a network via Ethernet, I chose to set up by USB. I was able to download additional software with the installation of the software as well. I will be able to use them in other applications.I see five scan buttons on the front panel: three for scanning over a network, one for scanning over a USB connection, and one for scanning to a USB memory key, this was a bit unique in my experience. To start a scan, you can put a document in the ADF and press the appropriate button. With each button, however, you can only use a single profile that you`ve previously assigned through the Brother utility. This was limiting as I wanted to switch profiles throughout.It includes a 50-sheet automatic document feeder, a 2,500 page-per-day duty cycle, and it is rated at speeds of 30 pages per minute and 60 images per minute. I did find it a bit slow, but the accuracy on OCR was much better than other scanners I have used. It was able to scan multiple media types and paper sizes, including business and plastic ID cards, receipts and photos. For my business, in a small office, this makes great sense!

It has been difficult for me to set up the ADS-2200 Desktop Document Scanner and initially figure out what to do. It seems to me that the scanner is "trying to be too many things for too many people"--i.e. trying to be used by both PC and Mac. The first thing I did was to download the User Guide online---I may be old-fashioned, but I prefer a paper copy, rather than having to scroll down and up in order to view directions on a computer screen. Additionally, it seems to me that several necessary items were omitted from the package, and should be included int he future---neither a USB to USB cord, nor a Carrier Sheet were included in the package, which I think is a negative point. The main item I like to scan is a receipt or a photo, and a Carrier Sheet is necessary for both--so I was unable to scan those items to determine scanner quality. I feel that these two items should have been included with the scanner.After connecting the scanner to my laptop, my first three attempts to scan a document resulted in failure, as I did not first remove the orange tape near the rollers, which prevent a page from being pulled into the machine on the right hand side. The left roller appeared to be working correctly, but the right roller did not grab the paper---thus I needed to remove the piece of orange tape, which I am not sure why it is there in the first place. When the scan failed during these three attempts, an error code would appear on my laptop that read, "TW1-3D1 Document feeder can not pick paper, please make sure paper is loaded." (which was not the case at all, but that the orange tape needed to be removed. When I finally was able, on the 4th attempt, to scan the document correctly to my laptop, the scan appeared crisp and of good quality.After using the ADS-2200 Desktop Document Scanner, I have determined that I really prefer a flatbed scanner that does not require a Carrier Sheet in order to scan photos or receipts.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Multipage scanner I received this product for free from Brother in exchange for my honest opinion/review of the product. At first I thought there was a problem with this scanner as it continued to snag over and over on even two pages. After a lengthy hold time with customer service and escalating to Tier Two customer service we discovered that a black plastic piece that was supposed to come off when the shipping tape was removed did not come off. It was stuck firmly to the machine and had to be pried off and I had to clean the tape/glue underneath. After that, the scanner started to work perfectly and even did up to 70 pages without missing a page. The color scans I did were excellent and the documents I scanned look like a copy instead of a scan. I found the software to be not as user friendly as I`d hoped and Paper port was more complicated than the software for my old scanner. But I suppose that since this scanner has more functions it requires more info. However, when in doubt you can always press the button on the scanner! Overall, this is an excellent scanner and is much faster than the one page document scanner I have now. In addition, my brother printer is about 7 years old so I would expect this scanner to last just as long!The only cons for this product:1) The fast start book only came with info about assembling the product - very little user info. I love having a book instead of online info but I still had to go online to access they very long user manual to get fast start user instructions.2) Product did not come with a serial port to scanner attachment for the computer. I had to use the one from my old scanner. Luckily, it worked. I looked at the pics online and I wasn`t missing anything so they must have decided to leave it out. Buyers that don`t have a serial port to scanner cord laying around may find this annoying!3)The Brother software took up a lot of space on my computer and was a little complicated. But considering you can scan from cameras and several other useful options, I guess that makes sense.

When I received this scanner I immediately set it up on my desk. The process took me a little bit of time due to the instructions, but they weren`t completely thorough enough for me. Once it was all set up I immediately started scanning some work documents. It was so efficient and easy to do since it is right next to my computer. This scanner is very easy to use and is quick at completing the scans. It is also small, so it doesn`t take up a lot of desk space. One complaint I have is that in order to shut it off you have to unplug it, which isn`t a huge deal since the pros outweigh it. I would highly recommend this scanner to anyone in the market for one.

I will never go back to a 3-in-1 scanner. This is the best scanner I have used since I had a professional scanner. It is super quick, but based on my needs the DPI can be adjusted from 100-600dpi. I was impressed that it could scan pictures, black and white from card-stock to even tracing paper went through the scanner without a problem. I liked that it allowed the settings to be adjusted for color/black and white/gray. When scanning to your computer you can adjust the settings, but if only scanning to USB, the middle settings (300dpi) are used and not able to adjust. The only thing is after each scan I need to open up the dialog box, but that is minor compared to the quality of scans, I no longer need to spend hours cleaning up scans.

Compatible with the operating Systems Supported like windows 7,8,8.1 and mac etc.my computer operating system is windows 7.The ADS-2200 handles multiple media types and paper sizes, including business and plastic ID cards, receipts and photos and can scan out-of-the-box with no additional installed software required.i have a small catering business and couple of employees working for me,so I use ADS 2200 to print some beautiful identification and visiting card for them.it came out really well.Works great on the desktop. Scans both b&w and color easily and Import is very easy, Love the multiple page feed option.but some little problems like paper got jammed after some scanning operation may be it was a user error i am not sure and there is no USB cable in the box to connect to the computer so i have to purchase the cable separate.other than that So far no issues with this. thank you bro!!

I unfortunately was unable to use the scanner. It can only be used by connecting a usb cord to a computer. This usb cord is not included with the scanner. I contacted Brother customer service to ask why it doesn`t come with a usb cord? It would make more sense for this scanner to be Bluetooth or wireless compatible than needing a cord that`s not included! The service agent was nice enough and said that he would have one mailed to me in a couple of days. That was over a week ago and still no usb cord! Silly that you have to buy a usb cord just to be able to use it especially for the price paid for it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Recommend this Scanner for Home or Small Office I received this product for free from Brother in exchange for my honest opinion/review of the product. PRODUCT HIGHLIGHTS: Right from the packaging I was excited to see that this scanner provided high-speed color scanning, and it supported Windows, Mac, and Linux, which is definitely a plus for home office or business use. It also does duplex scanning, which scored points for me, and it has a space saving design too, which is very handy no matter where you plan to use it. ASSEMBLY: The actual assembly of the scanner itself was simple. Getting set-up accomplished...not so much. What the box failed to disclose was you needed a USB cable and would be required to tether the scanner to your desktop computer. Or, in my case, since we only use laptops in our home, I needed to bring my laptop to where I was setting up the scanner, connect them, and each time I needed to scan something, I would have to repeat the process by bringing the laptop to the scanner and attaching the USB cable to my laptop. The box did not notify me this model could not connect to the network.Also, the instructions provided with the unit are pretty sparse. Not that you can`t figure them out, but I admit it took me a couple pass-through`s to get it straight, and I`m no dummy. I did figure out that I needed to go to the Brother website to download the full set-up and driver software, but once I completed the download, I was left with a screen filled with files. I don`t know if it was just my computer or what - I am running Windows 10, 64 bit - but nothing autoran to do the installation, so I took a guess and chose MainInst and luckily was correct. That opened another window filled with files and once again I took a guess by checking Start and luckily was again correct. That finally got the installation running. PERFORMANCE: Once I had gone to the store and purchased my USB cable and then returned home to run through the installation, I began testing out scans. I tried scanning photos from my albums, documents, letters, and receipts/ticket stubs I found around the house. All came out beautifully, and very quickly! They sent to the correct scan folder easily, and I didn`t seem to have many issues with document feeding (paper jams). The machine was quiet and very smooth. It was very nice being able to utilize the software from my computer to manipulate the scanning and saving features, and to make changes as necessary for different items I scanned. I much prefer this to utilizing buttons on the scanner, though since I had to move my laptop directly to the scanner each time I needed to use it, I suppose a button on the scanner to start the scan may have been useful as well, though not a necessity. OVERALL IMPRESSION: I think this is a very good scanner for a home office where networking is not a necessity. Personally I think the price point is set a bit high for this item. It certainly does do a good job scanning documents and keeping them organized, but I feel there are other products out there that do just as good for much less, and they are also networked. Perhaps this might be an item for possible improvement or addition in future models. I also feel the setup instructions could be improved so that they autorun on all interfaces.

As I was taking the scanner out of the box I wasn`t to excited. I`ve had to assemble and connect many printers and have had a hard time with difficult instructions and assembly. I took my new scanner out of the box and couldn`t believe that there was only one piece to connect plus the cords, It was so easy, I didn`t even need instructions! As I was reading the instructions to hook it up I kept thinking to myself that it couldn`t be this easy, It really was easy! After only like ten minutes my scanner was up and running! I put 30 pages in to be scanned and it was so quick to scan! This scanner is light weight and doesn`t take much room up on my desk which is wonderful. The only negative thing I would have to say about this scanner is that it isn`t wireless and didn`t come with a USB cord to connect it to my computer. I definitely would recommend this scanner to anyone just because of the simplicity of connecting it, the assembly of it and for how fast it is.

The scanner is much more ergonomic than other scanners. Other scanners require you to coordinate loading paper to the scanner, then going to the keyboard to start the scanning operation, then return to the scanner to remove the paper, etc. The ADS-2200 incorporates the "go" button on the scanner, so you don`t have to shuttle back and forth, you can just load and reload originals and they are automatically transferred to your PC, MAC, or to a USB stick. This last feature is particularly nice. You don`t have to have the computer running to scan. You can scan to USB and then load the scans to the computer later. The product instructions are important, because this scanner operates a little differently than other scanners. Since the scanner is doing most of the work of producing the PDF or JPG output, you don`t need a computer driver for the scanner, or a scanning program to install. Therefore, the settings are done via a setup program that adjusts the settings in the scanner. Once this is done, the settings work for any PC, Mac, or USB stick that is being used. If you`re used to other scanners, this can be disorienting, but it`s a much more convenient way to operate. The unpacking, snapping in the paper feeder, and plugging in the scanner is very quick and easy. The only software installation is the setup program, there`s no need for a separate driver or scanner application. This scanner isn`t as fast at pushing paper through as some of its competitors. The scan quality is excellent, and the ease of use is much better. The range or output formats is a bit limited, with only JPG and PDF supported for pictures and documents respectively. The paper feeder works very well on multipage documents, feeding one page at a time and avoiding misfeeds. The input rollers are not as kind to thin, light receipt papers, but feeding them one at a time works fine after a little practice. The scan quality is excellent, with a little adjustment for speed. The product does not include a cover or holder for fragile documents or photos. Overall, this is a fast, reliable scanner that can capture the scan even if the computer isn`t working.

This one has all the same features as that one for far less money ! It is easy to use and works flawlessly ! If it lasts as long as my last one, I will be thrilled. I highly recommed this unit !

Handles all different sizes and types of paper without a problem, even paper with creases, bent corners, etc. I have even stacked different sizes/weights of paper in the same scan and everything fed through without a hitch. Have not had a single paper jam or misfeed. I bought this to scan medical charts into our EMR system and it works seamlessly. I was so impressed by this scanner that I bought a second one already.

I am amazed at how well this scanner feeds papers through - curled on the edge from a 3-ring binder and previously stapled docs have been no problem. I am very pleased with my purchase.

That old scanner, which cost significantly more than this Brother, had software that would not work on my upgraded Mac with Big Sur. This Brother machine is every bit as good as that other brand, and the scanner software is designed for the 64 bit OS. On top of that, this machine is fast and quiet. Very nice. What it doesn't have is a wireless connection - which I don't need in my home office.

I had a scanner, and still do, that functions just fine, but Brother had a function that I needed to make things speedy and done in a timely matter. It can scan a large capacity of papers at lighting speed! It made my freed up from not having to scan each document one by one. I put 50-100 pages in at a time and it scans to my laptop in seconds! Love this product!
