The EF-S 10-18 mm f/4.5-5.6 IS STM lens combines optical excellence with cutting-edge performance, providing an ultra-wide angle of view in a compact, portable package, perfect for EOS cameras with an APS-C sensor. It has a 4 group optical zoom system and includes a large-diameter element, an aspherical lens element, a UD lens element and enhanced lens coatings for high-contrast, high-resolution images with minimal glare and aberration. A circular, 7-blade aperture helps ensure fine background blur and the Canon Optical Image Stabilizer system provides up to four equivalent stops of shake correction. The lens has a stepping motor (STM) and a refined focus mechanism for smooth and continuous AF during video recording. It also has a rear focusing system, plus a high speed CPU and improved AF algorithm for high-speed AF; and offers full-time manual focus for quick adjustments. The EF-S 10-18 mm f/4.5-5.6 IS STM delivers reliable, speedy and quiet wide-angle performance, making it an ideal lens for everyday photography, travel, stills and video recording.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It is a great wide angle lens. For the price, it is a great wide angle lens. I even kind of like the distortion at 10mm. :) The only qualm I have with it is the smaller max aperture. I recently went to Luray Caverns, and took this lens and my 18-55mm. I ended up only using this lens. If the aperture were bigger, I wouldn't have had to bump my ISO up to 3200. But it is great to hand hold, and works pretty well in lower light otherwise. It is great for landscapes, or when you need to be closer to the subject. With this lens and my 50mm, I no longer use my 18-55mm.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The go to lens I needed a specif focal range a wide angel perspective just short of a fisheye point of view, low and behold I found just the right blend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Lens I didn't mention money because everyone knows how affordable it is. So what about the quality of the lens. I evaluate by the results and the results are great. I like it for car shows, people, groups and interiors.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well worth the purchase!! I've had this lense for about 2 weeks and have used it many times, the image stabilization is amazing and the autofocus works well with my rebel t6i. I would highly recomend this lense for anyone who is into landscape, especially beginners.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Decent lens for the money For the money, it's not a terrible lens. The build quality isn't up to par but I think Canon cut a lot of things out to make it more affordable for the hobbyist. It takes a pretty decent picture given that it's one of their cheapest lenses. THE PROS: It's a light, compact, simple to use ultra wide angle lens. It will add very little weight to your kit. It has a nice wide angle for getting some impressive scenery in it with the image staying crisp to the edge and minimal distortion for being a 10mm lens. Edges of objects have very little bend. I like that they THE CONS: As expected for the price, its build quality is much lower than other lenses sold by Canon (plastic mount ring, plastic barrel, screen printed logo, etc.) but as I mentioned above, this allows Canon to sell it for a reasonable price so that hobbyists and enthusiasts can dabble in ultra wide angle photography without breaking the bank so I've made my peace with it. As long as you take care of it, it should last well past its worth. Moving on, the maximum f/4.5 aperture doesn't allow very good low light photography unless it's on a tripod or crank up your ISO which adds noise but seeing as this is primarily used for landscape photography where it's generally brightly lit, it doesn't bother me too much. OVERALL: As I've stated a few times, for the price, it's a decent lens. Not the best but not the worst. It's a starter ultra wide angle lens.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from BETTER than expected I have had this a couple of weeks, and I love the feel on my 70D and also the color it produces. It is wide as can be and the IS is excellent for me. I use it for city scenes and also architecture.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Quick Just received my EF-S 10-18mm f/4.5-5.6 IS STM this past week. Focus is quick as in nearly anticipation mode and pretty much silent. Pictures are sharp and colors are real.I must confess: I'm no professional and don't know all that is to be known about photography - terminology is a bit confusing yet. I just like good clean sharp pictures.I selected this lens from a lot of thought and consideration; then decided this lens would fit my desires for now.I am giving this lens a 4-star rating since I have only had it a week AND I will need a lot more time to experiment with it.
