I purchased a replacement power cord for my aging 2-in-1 laptop. This is the second such replacement I've bought. The first didn't actually fit (product description said it would) and immediately frayed where the cord connected to the little black box.
Already, this cord from Dell is better. It's higher grade cord. The plastic cover is thicker, I think. It actually fits!
My package arrived quickly and payment didn't alert my bank like it was paying off a displaced African prince.

The cord works fine and is a great size. Unfortunately, it was not indicated that it is a three-prong plug making it unusable on an airplane. As many people do, I use my xps while traveling. The laptop originally came with a great cord and adapter very similar to this one, but it is 2 prongs. I have been looking for an extra. This product is not it. three prongs will not fit any airplane outlets. Very sad

Replacing cord did not resolve problem and Dell isnt interested in fixing issue without huge costs, pretty sure its a software issue from a bad update as cord is no longer recognized code on diagnostics reflects this and seems to be a large issue with buyers, company has zero interest in doing anything but rendering systems useless as it stopped charging.

I had to replace the power cord that came with my Dell Laptop. I searched for the cord based on the model of my Dell Laptop and this was the only cord that came up in the search. It was very expensive. The cord looks exactly the same as my old one that broke. However, each time I plug it in the laptop says to plug in the cord that came with the computer and using this one won't charge it as well or efficiently and the laptop won't perform at its best. Super annoying.

I bought this power cord for my Dell Inspiron 5559 laptop as suggested by Deloitte customer service support person. The Dell website and the support person suggested that it would work for Inspiron 5559 laptop and it will be compatible for that laptop. After receiving the Power Cord, I tried it with my Inspiron 5559 but it doesn't work. I am really disappointed with this.

I ordered this charger because it was recommended for my laptop per your website. IT WAS NOT the correct product. I have wasted at least two hours of my time trying to return it. Gone around and around in circles trying to reset my password and as I am sure you are aware it is absolutely impossible to speak to a person and when you do finally get to one they are foreign and almost impossible to understand, and not able to solve the issue. All they do is send you back to the continuous merry go round on the web site.

Frayed Power Cords Affect Battery Life
The cords start to fray near the power box within about a year from being wrapped up when changing locations, which then affects battery life. It is best to buy several and leave them in position if you are working with your laptop in multiple locations. I have two: one at work and one at home. I have been doing this the last five or six years for my seven-year-old laptop. My battery life is only good for about 40 minutes nowadays, and the replacement is no longer available for purchase. Way to go Dell!

Very ANEMIC ?power? Cord from DELL
I am very disappointed in this adapter. Printed information led me to believe that it was a more compact ( and would be great, lighter, for travel) but an entirely suitable REPLACEMENT for the standard BRICK AND CORD ADAPTER. Of course, not only is it unable to recharge my Dell lap top, but after two uses, I am not even sure if I can use it as one would a simple power cord, plugged into the wall, while working on a lap top. It is pretty obvious that the lap top does NOT LIKE this weak cord. Stuck in North Carolina. JY

Power cable had been falling out
This makes the 3rd power cord I have with my laptop. The first one the end broke off. The second one wouldn't take plugged it. Any little movement of the laptop and it would fall off. This 3rd is slightly better. I have to be careful of movement and arrange the cord just right. Let's hope it stays that way

If this power cord is no different than the last 3 I purchased for this laptop, then I give it 6-9 months, tops, before it starts failing to charge, and I have to buy another one. Do better Dell. Your customers notice these sort of things.

Replacement AC adapter for laptop
The connector of the original adapter got bent slightly somehow, and after years of no problems, finally caused the laptop to complain.
Armed with the laptop model number, I found the replacement AC adapter on the Dell site, ordered it, and it works perfectly!

This power cord does not do its job. My laptop complains that it is not being powered correctly when it is plugged in with this cord. On bootup, I get a separate screen warning me that the computer may run slowly, and it does. Very dissatisfied.

The charger works good; however, I am disappointed that Dell sent me the wrong charger. My computer says I need a 65 watt, and I put in my Service Tag # and this is what Dell gave me based on that. I will keep it since I have another Dell that needs a 45 watt.

The correct tool for the job
I purchased this charger for my laptop because at one time my computer fell off the end table and broke my original charger. I purchased a charger that was not an original Dell one and it worked for the most part, but after one of our dogs jumped on my lap and knocked my computer over that charger got damaged and so did the charging port in the laptop. After replacing the charging port I ordered an original Dell charger and it has been smooth sailing ever since.

I bought one of these to replace a charger from my daughter's Inspiron. It worked for one day until she accidentally tipped her high school yearbook onto it. It could not have fallen more than 20 cm. However that was sufficient to dislodge the barrel sufficiently to render the charger useless. Perhaps some better reliability testing and hardening against simple accidents is required. Identical chargers from some online vendors are much less expensive, but I purchased this with Dell rewards points. Fool me once...

Dell shows excellence in customer service by standardizing charging cords so that charging cords are available for the excellent laptop machines that were built with such high quality that they last for years and will need replacement charging cords. Duplicate and triplicate charging cords also add convenience for customers that travel frequently and have secondary homes.

I got tired of moving my AC adapter each time I moved my computer. I now have 3 AC adapters, one for each home location and one for my computer bag when I travel from home.

Unhappy with my purchase due to the info on the ordering page.
I was unhappy with my purchase because the fact that my laptop model was listed as compatible did NOT mean that the power output was satisfactory for the needs of support for the device. i turned around and ordered the step up 65 Watt version but they were out of stock and I have to wait until MAY for my order to be satisfied. I am using the ordered device as a stopgap until my REAL need can be satisfied. One would expect the shelves to be stocked with an adequate supply of replacement parts since the Inspirons are gettin long in the tooth relative to reliability and connector quality.

45W AC Adapter that you sent us has an oval port connector and our Lap Top model Inspiron 15 55868- 2 Service Tag 7D04XB2 has a circular port connector. Therefore they will not work together.

Needed a secondary adapter. Learned that the Inspiron 7373 can charge over USB-C. Found this adapter, wattage matches, price was fair, and was in stock.
So far the adapter performs as expected. There are no additional features to speak of. Charges as efficiently as the originally equipped adapter. I'm very happy with my purchase.

So I purchased this because my first charger bent within two months of getting it (which isn't covered under warranty). I'm worried it'll happen again because of the poor design. I also have a white computer but was sent a black one so I don't like that it doesn't match.

Be carefully buying from the Dell website.
Be sure that the wattage is enough for your particular computer. On the Dell webiste, I searched for a power supply for the specific laptop that I bought, and the Dell website search results produced this power supply. However, this power supply does not work for my laptop. It does not have enough wattage. When I received it, it did not charge my laptop. The battery slowly died, and I lost a day of work. Incredibly disappointing and very bad website search functionality. I wish I could give Dell zero stars for this product.

Research leads me to believe the charging troubles I am having could be the battery, the cord, the charging port or the motherboard. I am 0 for 2 (got a new battery and charging cord). It’s important to buy the correct power cords for your laptop. It may cost more but it fits correctly and I have no more issues. It may be cheaper elsewhere but you don’t know what you are actually buying and it will cost you more in the long run.

Wrong adapter
This was the only option that came up when I searched for power cords for Dell XPS 13. It looked like my cord, and had the right connection (usb-c). I didn't do my due diligence in shopping, but thought others might make the same mistake. This adapter reads only 45w. I had misplaced my adapter, and so didn't realize it was 65w. This isn't the right adapter for my xps 9305.

The pin seems to be too small for the port. Sometimes I have to fiddle with it for a long time before it starts charging. Very disappointing and frustrating.

My recent purchase of the Dell 4.5 mm barrel 45 W AC Adapter with 2 meter Power Cord works just fine. Thank you for sending it to me. I may have another issue in that the pin adapter that the power cord plugs into may have an issue. When I plug it in, it takes a while to accept it, so I am not sure if the adapter being probably a barrel/capacitor, takes time to fill with electricity before it is usable, or the pin it plugs in to has problems. I finally got it to work properly so I have no problem with it. Thank you.

Just like the original, only the cord isn't frayed at the barrel! I like being able to replace using OEM parts which were competitively priced. By the way, although the power cord section of the converter isn't pictured, it is included with the converter.

Only 45w AC Adapter on Dell site worked as replacement
After having my laptop 2.5 years, I couldn't get the battery to charge with the adapter that came with the laptop. It said, "plugged in, not charging". Then on boot-up I was getting messages that the AC Adapter could not be recognized. After trying every step on the Dell support site, including updating my BIOS, I broke down and ordered this adapter as a replacement. This was the only 45w adapter on the Dell website, so when the model number didn't match anything I saw on the one that came with the laptop, I was nervous. I have a Inspiron 5555, and the AC adapter is model DA45NM140. I ordered this one, which is model LA45NM140. It arrived in two days. I just plugged it in, and so far, so good. The laptop appears to be charging normally. It would be nice if the Manufacture Part number or the Dell Part number matched any of the numbers on the adapter.

Not a fan of the straight jack on a laptop. Dell should offer both a straight or angled jack power cord since they have created a laptop that requires a Dell OEM power cord or you get the "not compatible" pop up when you use any other powder cord. If you are going to limit us to your power cord, at least offer some choices. I gave it a three because even though it is made for my laptop, I occasionally still get a "not compatible" pop up. Why?? Keeping things proprietary keeps us coming back that's why.

Weak power connection
I had to purchase a replacement power cord for my new laptop after a few months' use as the plug is vulnerable to bending and breaking fairly easily if the laptop is not picked up and set down very squarely on a surface. Power cords on other laptops I have owned are reinforced in the area of the plug that goes into the computer. It was also disappointing that I could not purchase a replacement cord over the counter and had several days' delay in getting one shipped from Dell.

Battery was low and the charging cord that came with the computer was in worse shape. The cord was frayed where it connected to the solid rubber plug in. I ordered a new one from Dell and it came two days later.

Inspiron does not recognize charger
The dell laptop refuses to recognize its own charger, will not charge it even though the battery is fine. It will let you use the software but then just shuts off. This charger is so little, its lucky it can stay in the computer. Very poor caring and thought put in to these 'top of the line' laptops. Id say you all are to concerned with monopolizing your chargers so much that now the computer which has plenty of years will not even work. The sensor must be broken within the 2017 inspiron laptop, its a completely unnecessary feature to prevent the use of simple universal chargers. You can do better dell!

What you see is NOT what you get
I ordered this as a second power adapter for travel. Unfortunately, Dell does not offer a slim style that plugs directly into the wall for the Inspiron 7348 so I opted for this item because it appeared to be a smaller unit than the OEM part. But what they sent was the same old brick-style that ships with the computer with a huge 3-prong cord...just what I don't want to lug around.

Flimsy power adapter tip.
The power adapter I purchased was a replacement for the original. I had to replace the original because my laptop slid off my bed, about a 30 cm fall, landed on a carpeted floor, and the tip that inserts into the laptop snapped off. The tip seems flimsy and of weak construction - too easily broken from minor force applied in sliding off my bed.

I wanted a spare power adaptor to travel with. I try to travel very light with a carry on bag only. I wanted on that is EXACTLY like the one that came with my system. I could not find one on the site. I used the chat feature and the person first pointed me to two other that were clearly bigger and heavier that the one that came with my new Inspiron. After giving her the part number from the one that came with it, she gave me the link to this one and said it is the same one.
Actually, it is close. The module part is the same part number. This one has a 6.5' cord and the one that came with the new system had a power cord that was about half that length. If i were getting this for leaving at an office desk that would work fine but that is a lot of extra wire that I don't need to pack and carry for travel. The power cable has a connector that is somewhat standard and I found another source to get a short one from.

The actual purchase went off without any hitch. The reason i bought a replacement is the original cord produced errors that have been hard to solve. To make matters worse, the new cord produces the same problem. Something about being unable to verify the voltage. When its really bad i have to restart several times and sometimes run Support assist. Recently it took an hour to get the unit up and running. Ridiculous.

Got this before Christmas as gift for spare in laptop backpack so I wouldn't have to hassle unplugging the one on my desk. It is identical to then one that came with my Inspiron 15 7000 and works great on charging it. I read lots of reviews on 3rd party chargers that did
not work with Dell's so had wife get this one. I also read reviews on this not working with some Dell laptops so I did online chat with Dell rep to verify it would work. Good advice if you are not sure when ordering accessories.

This is a standard replacement for the included power adapter. I ordered it for convenience when I am having to use my laptop away from it usual location in my computer room. Rummaging around behind the edsk to get the original unit unplugged and plugged back in was annoying. Purchasing this unit resolves all that.

Power issues since day 1
Just now reading reviews as I've had to take my computer for service 4 times due to seemingly incompatibility issues with the power cord from day 1. Nothing can be done other than the resetting of the power settings by draining/yanking the battery, restarting, and waiting for a few days for it to do the same thing. While I can work with it plugged in it will not even hold a charge. process-ridiculous. I baby every electronic I have never had this specific issue with other Dell computers. Went online to see about buying a new AC adapter from Dell and read the reviews of ALL the other people having the same issue as me. I originally purchased the laptop from QVC. At this point I'm figuring it's a waste of money to buy another adapter if Dell hasn't taken care of anyone else. What a shame. I used to work for Dell. Hate to see them have such lousy customer service.

4 ADAPTERS IN 4 YEARS
Once again, I have had to order a new power adapter for a pc less than two years old. A 65 watt adapter came with my pc and I was surprised when I received a 45 watt adapter as a replacement. Particularly when I asked the representative if he was sure this was the proper adapter for my computer. I'm using it but not completely happy I received the product I ordered.

Do not buy this power supply if you are running a Inspiron 14 7000 2-in-1 laptop (or similar. You will get a warning message when you turn on the computer saying that this 45 watt is not enough power to run the computer and some features will be disabled.

I bought this (and another adapter 2 weeks later from Dell to replace the original adapter for my XPS13. Since both items were listed as replacements, and since the Dell associate on the phone verified that each one was the proper match, I was happy to purchase the part. Neither adapter could charge my battery. Dell technicians tried to assist online to no avail. Apparently, the BIOS must be reset, but that can't happen on a low battery charge. It would seem that Dell could provide the same adapter so one could just plug in and resume work. I have returned both adapters, and Dell made the return process very easy. Since my laptop was still under warranty, I ended up replacing my laptop.

Bought a brand new computer for my daughter. It had problems from day 1. At 1 year 1 day, the power cord stopped working. Warranty ran out at 1 year. Customer support could do nothing. Expect to throw out your computer after warranty expires.

My computer won't recognize this charger and says it isn't a Dell.
I bought both this and a new battery when my dell computer stopped charging. Unfortunately it didn't solve the problem. My computer still won't charge as it says that this charger isn't a dell charger. when I plug it in a pop up claims this charger isn't a recognized brand and may not charge my laptop properly. For a two year old laptop I'm extremely disappointed to be having these issues

13.3” great screen. Love the size. One issue, with I7 cpu and traditional 1 GB hard drive, battery time is only 3-4 hours. Dell tech support spent about 2 hours on the phone with me. They were great. I’m happy with this purchase.

The new adapter cord only worked for a few weeks. After a few weeks, I sent the (totally power drained laptop and new adapter cord back to Dell for repair and it was the new adapter cord (and some cables) needed to be replaced! The new adapter cord, I'm happy to say, has been working like a charm.

It barely works, it is a very loose connection.
Now the battery seems to be the problem. It does not hold a full change and seems to be slowly taking a smaller percentage of charge.

Accidental damage to original power cord caused me to search the internet for a reasonable priced replacement. Local appliance/electronics stores want over $50 for the AC adapter w/power cord. AC charger for DELL 13 7000 (Inspiron 7368)
I was looking for a spare AC charger for DELL 13 7000 (Inspiron 7368 to be exact). It was difficult to find. I could not even find it on DELL's website. I found this 45W (same as the one shipped) but with Manufacturer Part# : CC0DT / Dell Part# : 492-B... My laptop is not even in the Compatibility list.
I determined I would like to risk it anyway...
When the charger came today, perfect, it is exactly the same with the one came with my laptop and it shows:
Model Number: LA45MN140
DP/N: OKXTTW (I guess this is the DELL part number.)
I am not sure why Dell does not put the "correct" part numbers that show on the charger so the customers can easily relate to.
Not interested in knowing why now since I've got the right one. :)

My AC adaptor broke after 4 months. Dell support said that I had stepped on it. I found that would have been very hard to do since I keep my computer on a desk and don't have a tendency to dance on my desk. If you have had a faulty AC adaptor please report. These are over priced and defective if they break in 4 months.

I am very disappointed that the connector seems to slip out of the computer too easily. In addition, even when plugged in, the computer doesn't always charge properly, and I have to twist and turn the cord to find the sweet spot where it will continue charging.

Double check your part is compatible!
Went to Dell sight and checked my laptop to make sure I was getting correct charger for my Inspiron 3780. Accys for this was 45w charger. When I received it and pluged in bios said I needed 65w that was oem at purchase time. I had to change warning in bios to correct.
I would have purchased a 65w. Customer lost origional charger and I had nothing to go by.
I paid Dell's price and still got the incorrect part. Too big for there britches it seams!

This item works as it should; however the prong that connects to the computer is bent. I haven't contacted Dell about this because it works fine. It is a little concerning, though. Hoping that there will be no issues for the future. Getting used to the keyboard has been a challenge for my fingers. All that aside, I really like my Dell.

At first it’s was delayed but at least they kept in contact letting me know when I would receive it, it turned out putting the new cord on, I told the seller what it was doing and she said probably a bad cord,so the new cord did fix the problem, it charges like it suppose to now! Thanks!

I purchased the new cord in the past few months(2021)Jan-Aug. This is the second cord I have had for the same computer and I am having the same issues I had with the first one. The plug that fits in the computer port seems to have a 'short' in the wire(s) leading to it(this is after a short period of using it less than 6 months). I have to 'hold' it in place (or make sure there is no movement to break the connection). This is NOT satisfactory --- this cord is not even 6 months old. There surely is a better quality cord that will last a long time.

I bought two of these as backups for the adapter that came with my Inspiron 15 5000, after the long cable on the original adapter was damaged, but still working.
Both of the new adapters require me to play around with the adapter-to-laptop connection (jiggle a little, slide in/slide out in order for them to work - and then sometimes, they'll stop working during a charge.
The original adapter with the damaged cable still works just fine.

My new cord works great! You are probably already aware of this issue, but the reason my original cord stopped working was because a friend used my cord to charge his laptop (also a Dell, but a different version). Because his laptop was not identical, it messed with my cord. My cord still worked, but the adapter was not recognized, so my laptop could not hold a charge and it was really slow.

I'm kinda disappointed, because I ordered this charger because the one that came with my laptop didn't work anymore without the cord needing to be laid Just A Certain Way so it could charge. Only to find out that this charger is literally doing the same thing as my old charger - it's brand new but it has to be laid Just A Certain Way or else it won't charge at all. And my old charger didn't get that way until after over a year of use so it's frustrating to have the charger doing this right out the box.

Go with Dell! I had purchased a generic power cord for my Dell laptop which wasn't working very well. The cord was loose in the power port. Although the port needed to be replaced, the repairman suggested I stick with a Dell power cord. Much happier now!

wrong wattage for latitude 3400
it works fine but i got a warning from my laptop the first time i used it that it's not powerful enough, that the laptop requires a 65-watt adapter. i bought from dell specifically so that i'd know i was getting the right one, but the dell site led me astray. that said, it does work, just not optimally. if you're buying for a latitude 3400, get the 65-watt.

Brand new computer needed new power cord and crashed due to motherboard issues and was sent back to Dell. Still have not received laptop back from Dell. This is likely to be my last purchase from Dell and I do no recommend Dell to my friend. I have had a few other Dell computers in the past, in fact my first Windows GUE computer was a Dell. However with the recent purchase I am no longer a Dell fan. Work to change my mind and bring me back as a customer.

Decent adapter at a reasonable value
This adapter is a replacement for my original adapter that came with my computer and recently died on me. Although the construction is superior, the charge time between this adapter and my computer takes a little bit longer than my original one. It has one job and It does the job. Kind of a high price for just a cable, but it's hard to find the right kind of plug for Dell laptops in other stores. I tried a generic one with 6 interchangeable adapter plugs and none of them fit my Dell laptop. Had to return it and get a cable here.

I ordered this replacement because my Dell laptop kept going into battery mode when plugged in. I still have trouble. I took the laptop in for repair to take a look at the charging port itself, which is fine and they were not able to duplicate the issue with their cable. So, this cable is as faulty as the other one, as far as I can see.

I searched locally for a universal adapter, and couldn't find one compatible with my laptop. Did not know it would be so easy to find on the Dell website. The price including shipping was better than the box store brand. Definately will order through Dell again!

This charger is basically useless because it isn't strong enough to charge the computer while you're using it, only if you're not using it. I don't even understand why this prodcut would be available and have already gotten rid of it.

Wrong Device Provided
My power adaptor was becoming worn out through normal wear and tear, so I tried looking online for a replacement. The numbers had worn off of the device so I was pleasantly surprised when a replacement automatically appeared on my laptop, complete with (presumably) the correct model number of a replacement.
I proceeded with purchasing this "replacement", and I soon received a package in the mail containing the "exact replacement".
After unpacking it and plugging it into my laptop I received a message stating that the 45-watt was incorrect for my laptop and that I should have a 65-watt adapter. The message stated that it would not handle the full duty of a 65-watt unit, so I wrote an email to Dell stating my issue and requesting a return material authorization and a shipping label so I could trade out and receive the CORRECT model. I received no response to this email, and only this request for a review.
No response to my request nor other response.

This Dell 45 watt AC adapter works well as a permanent power source but just like the original charger I was advised to replace, this one is also not recognised by my Inspiron 15 and still does not charge the battery. The battery has also been replaced as has the power port. All are original Dell parts.

Doesn't fit securely. This is the second time in the past year that I have ordered a new cord. Either the hole in the laptop (Dell Inspirion is too large, or the end of the cord is too small. It wiggles a little and does not fit tightly at all. I do not know which, but it does look like I have a problem here that I will probably need to replace the laptop ?

I have two dell computers and I lost the chargers during a move. This charger does not work well on either computer. When using, it does not charge the battery and will only run while plugged in. It is a loose fit and the computer claims it does not recognize the charger. Very disappointed for the price.

This is about the fourth cord I have gone through with my Dell Laptop. I have a hard time keeping the plug that goes into the laptop from wearing out. This might just be me as I keep my laptop on my lap and the cord plugs into from the left and goes to a plug on the right side but they give you plenty of length so it is not straining. I hope this is the last plug I have to order for my Dell laptop. Always brought Dell and do not regret that choice.

Replaced Inspiron 1525 2-in-1 power adapter
I ordered this power adapter to replace the original that came with my Inspiron 1525 2-in-1 laptop, which is now several years old. A few weeks ago, while still using the original, the BIOS began reporting "unable to reliably determine the voltage from the power adapter" (or words to that effect when the machine was restarted. I don't know if the original power adapter was actually the problem but the new one works fine and so far that message has not reappeared.

Bad connection port makes cord semi useless!
It did not help to charge up battery. I have to bend the cord connection to laptop for it to start charging. A bad connection port on dell inspiron seems to be the problem.

As it turns out this is the wrong adapter for my vintage Insprion 1750 (16 years old). I found the right one but had to work hard to understand and order the power cord that is required to attach it to AC. Nobody knew it was required and sold separately.

Really like the long cord which help to prevent the plug-in from pulling out. The biggest improvement to make would be an L-shaped plug which would ease the tension on the cord and lessen the tendency to pull out.

Puts off a lot of heat.
It seems to work fine, but the first time used it was quite hot. Not too hot to touch, but too hot to hold for long. After a few weeks of daily use, it still gets too warm sometimes but not everytime.

Dell laptop is garbage.
Adapter purchase was fine, why didn't the original one last very long? The Dell laptop that goes with it is still broken because the screen separated from the laptop on the right side and I can't close it all the way. I keep the screen open and sitting on the desk at all times to use it. I can't travel with this Dell laptop anymore. The Dell laptop is a huge disappointment. I will research other laptop brands in the future.

Used the website to make sure order correct cord for my Dell and it was not the correct wattage so had to return and reorder a different one. The plug seemed bent already as well? Not sure just looked weird/crooked.

Worst power adapter ever! I’ve had this laptop less than three years and this is the third time I’ve had to replace the power adapter. I have older laptops and the original power adapter still works. All are Dell laptops. I can’t find a different adapter that works with this new Dell laptop. Very disappointing.

45 Power Adapter
I replaced the current power adapter bc it was getting extremely hot with minimal usage. The new one also gets hot, not as hot but hotter than it should. If there is a problem with this product in general, then Dell should replace it free of charge. I spoke to a Dell rep but was told I would have to buy a new one.

Despite the poorly designed power interface this replacement power supply will outlast the original supplied with my computer. That is because I have added a spring that will keep the white wire from breaking where it enters the plug. Shame on the engineer who designed it and the purchasing agent who approved it.

I'm very disappointed in this cord. I bought it to replace the cord that came with my computer because that cord was no longer staying plugged in and charging the battery...this cord does not stay tightly plugged in either.

Incompatible charger
If your computer needs a charger with higher wattage, do not buy this one. I bought this product not knowing the differences in wattage, and because of my mistake the charger would not work with my laptop. I’m also not entirely sure that this charger would work with most Dell laptops considering that the standard charger is 65W. It’s my fault for not getting the right charger, but regardless because the charger did not work with my computer, I am keeping my review the same

Not sure what to do if you can’t even get a legitimate AC adapter directly from the manufacturer’s website. Laptop kept showing a pre-loading screen message saying it couldn’t determine the wattage and therefore wouldn’t charge the laptop. I have an Inspiron 5567 which is one of the compatible laptops on the list. My original charger has gotten some wire damage but even that stills works fine, so I know it can’t be an issue with the laptop port or motherboard. I wanted a second one to replace the original before it got to a point I really couldn’t use it anymore, but it looks like I’m out of luck and don’t know what I am going to do once my charger does go completely bust, because there is nothing wrong with the laptop to warrant getting a brand new one just to get a charger

Overpriced cord when its designed to have no alternative for consumers!
Dell makes their laptops so there is no alternative but to buy their overpriced cord. On top of that, when the cord becomes damaged, and the laptop cannot determine if its a dell wire, the computer virtually shuts down, even though the power cord is plugged in and supplying the computer with power. It runs at about 25% speed for loading anything, and internet speed, making it virtually useless. Got the new cord, and just because the computer could tell that it was a dell cord, suddenly the whole laptop comes back to life perfectly. Sounds like a bit of a monopoly to me.

Over time, the original power cord for my Inspiron 15 3580 had become loose, so that it was not always charging. This is the exact match, down to the part number IS13252(Part1)IEC 60950-1, so it works perfectly, just like the original did when the computer was new.

Testing of Dell laptop charger.
The two included plugs was confusing. When received I saw that it came with the 4.5mm plug for my Inspiron (personal), but also includes a 5mm plug for latitude, (work) do now I am dually covered. I guess these are common sizes. Tested and works well.
