The pen works great with my dell laptop(i have the Inspiron 5406 2n1). I think it still has some design flaws but it gets the job done. I use if for taking notes on microsoft powerpoint.

I purchased this pen, believing that it would be compatible with the Inspiron 14 5000 series 2/1 5481. Wow, was I wrong. It's compatible with the 5482. I wish I selected the "Compatibility" tab before I purchased the item. Obviously I don't recommend this product for the Inspiron 14 5000 series 2/1 5481.

Make sure your 2 in 1 laptop is compatible with this pen. I made the mistake of checking on this. I am sure it would have worked great if it was for my laptop. Don't take my 1 star as a bad review, just make sure you check compatibility with your laptop.

Nothing like the Apple pen that can be used with iPad. This has a little battery that has to continually be replaced and no instructions for how to pair with the laptop.

This pen was considered an add on for the touchscreen laptop I was purchasing. It came and that's when I found out that it wasn't compatible. It was with the next model but not mine. I had to return it and I haven't found any that are for sure compatible yet. I'm not excited about having to order pens to see if they are compatible or not.

This came in my customer kit with the laptop I purchased. Turns out this pen is not even compatible with the laptop I purchased. Not very helpful. Returned it, still searching for the appropriate pen for my laptop. However, the pen is very nice and easy to hold. Great quality. Was honestly sad I couldn't keep it.

Bad Recommendation
This came up as recommended as I was purchasing a laptop 2-1, so I bought it. Imagine my disappointment when it didn’t work. Through troubleshooting, I realized that it is not compatible with the laptop I bought. I don’t understand why/how it was recommended by Dell when it isn’t even compatible with the laptop. I returned it.

Ok pen - Terrible Design & Support
I bought this for my Inspiron 2 in 1. It worked okay, but not great.
The main issue is the design. It does not have a replaceable tip. I was using this at college in one of those tiny fold up desktops attached to a chair. The pen rolled off the desk and fell 3 feet and broke the tip. Since this was a brand new laptop, I thought I could just call up Dell and get a warranty replacement.
This brings up the 2nd issue. Dell told me that it was user damage "like breaking the glass on your phone" and that it would not be covered by warranty. This got me started doing research to see if there was a better option.
I ordered PN579X - it is supposed to be much better (at double the price and one whole month to ship). The PN579X can be "reprogrammed" to work with the Inspiron, it has 4096 levels instead of 1024, and has tilt. More importantly, it has a replacement tip.
Don't waste your money on this pen unless you are sure you will never drop it - even from a very low height.

Works fine, but is extremely fragile.
While using this stylus it does its job fine. It's fairly reliable, covers enough of a range of motion, and is perfectly compatible with the computer it came with (Dell Insipiron 7590 2-in-1. Unfortunately, due to the reliance on pressure sensitivity in the tip if any damage occurs there the entire pen is rendered useless. If this pen accidentally rolls off of the desk or table you're working on or slips from your hand, there's a likely chance for the tip to become damaged.
Also, because the "limited hardware warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship in your Dell-branded hardware products, including Dell-branded peripheral products," exclusively, any accidental external damage or any software malfunctions are not covered.
This product works as intended most of the time, give or take some lag issues which may occur in using the pen. Be very careful with the fragile tool, lest you end up with another $50 dollar hole in your back account.

Dell Active Pen Compatibility
These pens were among the suggested accessories for the Inspiron 5481, but we found out they were incompatible with the computers after we received them. This set one of our company's projects back by an entire week while we tried to track down an alternative. It's very irritating when you can't even trust the manufacturer to get it right.

Read lots reviews, did research Website said pen was the right one for new laptop just bought , come to find it is not compatible with that laptop. Not pleased The website is very confusing and misleading. Then the laptop I paid top dollar for the speakers are not functioning. All the computer products I have in my small company are dell, the last two laptops I bought have had some kind of technical problems, I realize that no ones perfect and dell has been very good in helping to resolve the problems, I would think that instead of paying for people to fix the problems that looking into why the products are coming out defective in the first place would be more cost effective in the long run.

I bought this pen a while back and use it on my dell XPS. I like to split screen watch a video for school while taking notes on onenote. Each time I want to write a note, it takes me several minutes for my computer to register the pen and I often need to click around and move the screen around in order for it to come up so I can write. It is wildly inconvenient and makes note taking way more time consuming .

Kit with pen that turned out to be incompatible
I guess this is really a laugh on me. The PN350M is probably perfectly fine, but it was part of a group of products offered to go with my Inspirion 5481. I couldn't get the pen to work. Assumed I was just being obtuse. Finally, I discovered the 5481 was not one of the systems the PN350M was compatible with. I was surprised to say the least. Never would have considered that possibility given the presentation of the offer.

Bought a dell 2-in-1 Inspirion online, and the active pen was recommended by the website as I was checking out. I later found that the model of Inspirion I had was not compatible with the Active Pen, and that it is useless for my model. Dell should not advertise additional products to buy with computers that are not compatible.

I had never been a fan of touch screen laptops and tended not to use this feature due to fingerprints and smudge marks.
The Active Pen has changed all that. Easy to use and allows me to navigate and accomplish my work quicker while maintaining a smudge free screen.

I purchased this pen to use when signing any important papers through the internet. It is just like using a real pen on paper. Writes smoothly over the screen of the laptop. I have even had others try the pen for drawing with on the laptop and it is very smooth. So far no problems with it.

Pen is well built and works well. I noticed it has a magnet and searched to find out that it will attach to some laptops, but not the lattitude I bought where it was recommended. In that case, I would have gladly bought a sleek pen holder that would work with my laptop, but there are none available. I'm going to 3d print one out and adhere a metal strip so that the pen can snap to the laptop.

It works but not well. I have to push it down harder so every click and writing counts. When trying to write/draw, the lines aren’t smooth and it would be dotty. I only had it for 1 day as well. If you care about how writing and drawing look, I don’t recommend this pen at all. If you don’t care, I still don’t recommend this pen.

Absolutely and totally unimpressed with this pen. It does not function well, it skips, it fails to be recognized by the laptop and if I write at my normal speed the pen and/or laptop fails. I am so disappointed with the active pen and believe that I wasted my money twice. First I spent extra to get a laptop with touch screen (who in the hell uses a laptop with touch screen only a majority of their time on the laptop?) I got the laptop just to use the active pen. Since the active pen sucks completely, not only did I waste my money buying a touchscreen, when a less expensive, non-touchscreen was available; but I wasted my money on a cheap, non-working active pen and this is the only one that will work with the laptop I purchased. Buyer Beware!

Great laptop..incompatible pen stylus.
Pen is incompatible with the Dell Inspiron version that I purchased. This should have been clear as I purchased the two together. I found out much later...this info was embedded in Dell's support online information (which I was not consulting at purchase time). The laptop I purchased works wonderfully. I have had Dell laptops since 2000 and only purchase Dells. Only one is laptop currently not working and that was the first one I bought. It had windows 95 on it at the time it died (and it died soon after most were started using Windows 10). A champion laptop. But sorry, this review is for the pen. I don't know if it works well or not because I cannot use it. The review gets a one because the info I needed to know it was incompatible was not clear. And it is too late after purchase to send it back.

Great pen for a Dell 2-1 laptop!
My daughter recently received a Dell 2-1 Laptop and really wanted to purchase this Active Pen to go along with it. We received it very quickly and she was able to use it right out of the box. So far so good! Purchasing the Active Pen was quick and we received it in 3 days.

Pressure sensor is responsive and good for taking notes. Easy to erase and write. I wish it would physically connect with the computer when I am not using it, but it fits well in the pockets of my computer sleeve. I can type and write without reloading the page, so I'm satisfied.

Video of Laptop I bought showed a place to store the pencil in the laptop however that is only specific colors of the laptop. The color I bought does not come with storage so I am having trouble keeping track of the pen. Works ok but sort of unnecessary with touch screen

Product said it was compatible with my Inspiron 5406 and it turns out that it’s not compatible with the touchscreen of the laptop so I’d recommend looking at all of the reviews and going to the community page and seeing if you have all of the compatible parts.

I really like the ease of use of this pen. The weight is great and the point is really percise. I love the pressure sensitivity. The only reason I am rating with 4 stars is because it is not rechargeable. It takes an obscure battery (AAAA. I have not had a chance yet to see how the battery consumption rates.

The PN350M is not compatible with the XPS 9310 2 in 1. You would think the order system would throw up a notification to this effect. I understand people may wish to purchase incompatible devices on the same order. However a pop-up notification alerting the buyer to incompatibilities between the items in the cart would not be overly intrusive, and would prevent users like myself from being disappointed.

Poor replacement pen
This pen is not what the Dell online representative told me it was. It does not fit properly in the slot as a replacement pen. It does not "magnet" in to place the way the original pen did. It does not recharge in the slot, it has a AAA battery inside that has to be replaced. I do not understand why Dell does not sell their stock pen as a replacement. Very disappointed.

The Pen being in color black, gets disappearing and there is no clip to it to stop from rolling. The tip of the pen is hard, may harm the screen of the laptop. Designers do not copy Japanese love for Black. Be innovative with multi colors.

The pen works well but the hard tip is noisy if you write out notes in a quiet setting. No way to dis-engage the battery when the pen is not in use. Instructions are vague, but with a little experimentation you can figure out the buttons.

Just when I thought my Dell Inspiron14 2-in-1 Laptop couldn't get better, I bought the Dell Active Pen for it and made it the best computer I ever owned.
This is a must-have if you have any type of touchscreen laptop. Not only can I write out what I need, but it can also be used as a mouse in the sense it is able to click on the buttons on the side.

Like the pen! But I wish you could annotate and write with the pen anywhere on the desktop. For example, when I am teaching on Zoom, and sharing my screen of the internet, I wish I could just draw or write anywhere on my screen while using the internet. I can only write when using the screenshot tool or the whiteboard. Also, I am unsure what the second button does. The first button erases, but the second button doesn’t do anything. I also don’t like how you can’t turn the pen on and off, it’s just alway on.

Overall, this is a really good pen. I don't really have any complaints about it. It took no set up whatsoever and just worked right away with my computer. I do feel that the buttons on the side get stuck a bit and when I'm trying to erase something it makes you hold it in a weird position. But, other than that it works great for what I'm using it for and I do use it daily.

Had the prev gen pen, from like 2017 before buying this one. This is pretty much same pen but all the tiny minor issues with the 2017 one that I remember have been fixed up nicely. Well engineered... I'm in manufacturing and I'm always impressed at how low of a price they can sell and therefore manufacture these things at... They're not some plastic injected junk, its all high precision cnc machined aluminum. Very durable... light but solid.

I use this pen all the time to take notes in class. It is super easy to set up and use. However, sometimes it is easy to accidentally push the buttons when I don’t mean to. This is probably due to me not holding pens correctly, but it’s something to keep in mind.

A stylus that fits only specific needs and tasks
This stylus, PN350M is fine for jotting notes, signing documents and any situation where using your finger on the touch screen is inconvenient, but I would recommend it for drawing or art, about stick figure work. You should also be aware, this is note a bluetooth Pen, as such lacks certain functions in the reaml of programming the buttons.
If your needs of a stylus are limited, and you are budget conscience, this pen will meet that need. Dell does have highend bluetooth stylus pens that are more appropriate for drawing and art.

Its ok and it does the job, but compared to the pen that came with my dell laptop (the one this one was replacing it is terrible. It isn't always responsive and the lines I draw almost always have little bumps, it doesn't recharge, and it doesn't have bluetooth so I can't use the buttons for shortcut keys. I knew the last 2 things before I purchased it, but I didn't expect them to impact my experience as much as it did. I would recommend spending the extra $10 or whatever it was on the better version.

Nice size. I like that it is magnetic, however I have nothing to secure it to. I am using the hole in the top for a lanyard. That works! Feels good in the hand and connected to my laptop flawlessly.

I am still learning this pen. It works great, but it still picks up my hand if I am trying to write on it while resting my hand on the screen as well. I haven't been able to figure that part out yet. Otherwise, it works great. It does have a magnet in it which sticks to my laptop, but it is not strong enough to stay on it if moving around.

PN350M incompatible with the Inspirion 7706 2n1
I ordered a surface pen along with a Inspirion 7706 2n1. The pen I received was the PN350M and after following the quick start guide the pen appeared to be inoperable.
None of the online material led me to a solution. As it turns out, even though the documentation prior to 2/14/2022 claimed the PN350M was compatible with the 7706 this is not the case. After being on the phone with Tech support for an hour they also verified that recent documentation shows the PN350M is not compatible with the 7706 and verified I should have not received this pen. Unfortunately, confusion continues as there doesn’t seem to be a pen compatible with the 7706.

Useful but needs an on/off button!
The pen has cool features that add to my system, but there's no on/off button, so if the tip rests against anything it drains the battery, which is a AAAA and not common in stores so not as easy to replace.

I feel cheated by you. Even though I have shown you the chat in which you affirmed that the pencil does work on my laptop model, and in reality it does not work, then when I complain to you, you tell me that it is not your fault and that it is not they can do nothing and they just close the case. Dell should not do that, they must review their behaviors and supervision to solve these problems that fall into the field of deception just to sell more. Too bad for Dell.

The sensitivity is pretty bad, so it's necessary to push harder than I would like to make it register. This means that when writing, the line often drops out. The accuracy and response is good though. It also didn't come with any replacement nibs, so it the tip gets damaged, you're out of luck.

Not Bad but Not Great Either
I am coming from using a wacom intuos pen and tablet and compared to that, this pen is okay. Sadly it's the only one with pen pressure that I've found for my laptop (Intuos 7306) so I'm practically stuck with this. It's a bit of a learning curve because the pen isn't really designed to make my work flow as smooth as when I used my wacom tablet. I do recommend getting it though it's a decent pen that does the job.
Pros:
- Pressure sensitive works
- Comes with battery
- Doesn't need to be recharged
- Can magnetically attach to my laptop though it is a weak magnet and only works because of the battery
Cons:
- Can NOT reconfigure the buttons so you're stuck with an Eraser and Select button
- Cursor lags a little liked if you're drawing
- Have to change the pressure manually on each art program
- Nib not replaceable

I bought this pen because it was recommended for the Inspiron I puchased. It does the job, but I don't like how the pen point interacts with the screen. It retracts about 1mm when it makes contact with the screen. Also, the magnet is very weak and it barely sticks to the laptop case. Another issue is that the inspiron does not have a slot for the pen. Ripoff that pen has to be purchased separately; Should be included with laptop. What's next, sell ac adaptor and batteries separately?

Dell Active Pen PN350M used w/ Inspiron 7506 2in1
This pen works pretty much as advertised. In some applications, the buttons do not perform their described funtions. There are some instances when using the pen in a slanted hold where the screen will not recognize writing, so holding it straight up and down is recommended.
This pen looks good and has a good feel with the matte finish. It is not too heavy either.

Great Concept, but...
This is a great concept, but, unfortunately the pen will not work with my Inspiron 14 2-in-2. I've been to every forum, changed the battery and even the direction (just in case), and still not usable. Will contact Dell Support in case I've missed something. I'll keep you posted on the status.

Simple, Durable and Effective
Durable pen, nicely weighted. Both my 5 yr old daughter and I use the pen, so it's relevant for all ages. Only constructive criticism is the lack of detailed setup instructions, as well as very little how-to guides. I am a self proclaimed techy, kinda nerd lol. For me, to have confusion with an otherwise simple device, I think my claim is warranted.

PN350M not compatible with Inspiron 14 2in1 7420 model
This pen may be good, but it is not compatible with the Inspiron 14 2in1 PC ordered at the same time, while this pen was proposed in the additional devices for a bundled purchase
I had to reorder a different one and return the one.

Good Pen for dell inspiron series. But has certain issues.
The pen is good in itself, but it needs a lot of pressure to write smoothly. Also, the screen gets smudged when my palm touches while using the pen. Now, I am not sure whether it is the pen settings problem or the laptop built problem.

Just like a real writing pen
I purchased this pen to use when signing any important papers through the internet. It is just like using a real pen on paper. Writes smoothly over the screen of the laptop. I have even had others try the pen for drawing with on the laptop and it is very smooth. So far no problems with it.

Defective Unit
I cannot open the pen to insert the battery. I have followed the instructions and had multiple people try and twist off the cap. It does not budge and is currently useless to me.

This may be a fine pen but I'll never know, because altho Dell offers it as accessory to 7240 Inspirons, it is not actually compatible. It took TWO HOURS with four different (Very nice) customer service people to learn this and sort out a refund. The one you want for 7240 is the 5122W.

Wasn’t compatible with my laptop purchased in the same order.
This was errantly listed as an add on to a laptop purchase that it wasn't even compatible for. Seeing as this has happened to others in the comments of this device it seems this is an ongoing error. Before you add it to your cart based on the site’s suggestion be sure it’s compatible since Dell doesn’t do that for you. Easy to return but wasn’t given any apology or correction.

The laptop purchased at the same time as this pen is one of the few laptops that don't work with this pen. It was documented amongst the many laptops it does work with, to be fair. However, I might have expected that the website would have flagged it as "hey, this pen doesn't work with this laptop. are you sure you want to buy it?" - seems like an easy fix - have to eat the cost and buy the correct pen.

I like the matte color and soft texture of the pen. It fits in my hand comfortably and it is compatible with my computer. I wish it was Bluetooth and would show it is connected to my computer.

I'm Sure the Dell Active Pen is Nice - Mine Wouldn't Work
I was unable to get the pen to work. Perhaps the AAAA battery which came with the pen is dead. I don't want to invest any more money and lose out.

Works well, but no place to store
Works well overall but couldn’t figure a good place to store the pan. Doesn’t look like it can slide in the hinges, there’s no opening in my laptop.

I bought the Dell Active Pen PN350M for my son birthday. He loves it, he is only 8 years old. The instruction were simple enough for him to set up everthing himself. It was the perfect investment.

Clicks not registered properly. Battery looses contact and the pen goes disfunctional from time to time, only going back to normal once I take the cap off and re-align the battery

Poor substitute for PN771M; why doesn't Dell sell a direct replacement since they still sell it with new laptops?
Dell specified this pen to replace Active Pen PN771M for my Inspiron 7506 2n1. Functionally, it works. However, it is non-magnetic, and tends to bounce out of the built-in magnetically-fitted garage when I am using the computer in the car or if I jostle the laptop. It is also slightly fatter than the PN771 and round, which contributes to the poor garage fit and allows it to roll away when I place it on the desk, whereas the PN771 has flat sides and stays put where I want it to, whether that's stowed or on a horizontal surface. This is a poor substitute for the original. It does have a replaceable AAAA battery - the lone upside to this model over the original.
