Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does not hold up to full time engineering or side by side spreadsheet use Initial configuration is easy and it does work well for occasional use however for full time use our CAD engineers will not use it as it is too slow. The real interesting problem is that when running Excel in full screen mode the configuration begins to degrade and will 1) Migrate matched Dell U3104t monitors out of alignment so that they are no longer contiguous in the multiple monitor configurator. 2) Once the configuration starts to drift Excel will begin painting widows incorrectly so that in full-screen mode the bottom edges of the excel window will get drawn off the screen. This is fixed by going in to "dual monitor" configurator and putting the windows side by side.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Everything you need in a docking station The displaylink adapter drivers still collide with the jcreate video adapters so if you have users with D6000's in the office and a USB jcreate video adapter at home/jobsite/etc. you will have problems. Really cheap monitors like AOC when used with a displaylink to hdmi cable won't come on. The only way I was able to make it implementable was to put it on a power strip and have the user turn the power strip off and on to wake up the monitors. Not having the same issue on monitors with DP in or better monitors with the DP to HDMI cable. Other than that the product works better than anything I've used so far. Especially when driving dual monitors while keeping the laptop display as an active 3rd monitor. Good idea attaching the USB-C to USB-B adapter because those tend to get stolen/misplaced/etc.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good, but a bit touchy This dock fits the bill for it's intended purpose. The small design doesn't take much space on the desktop and it has enough USB ports for all the peripherals that I need. Make sure that you update the drivers or it will not charge through USB-C. It would be nice if this had a power button on it like the Dell E-Port Plus docking station so that the user doesn't even have to open the laptop to power it on. I know that's a small gripe, but you would be surprised how many times I've heard users complain about that.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It works, but not easy to set up Once you get this product set up and working, it works fairly well, but it's a bit of a pain to set it up. First, I hate the fact that Dell has done away with the previous generation of snap-in docks. This a finicky at best. For a single user, this wouldn't be bad to set up and use, but it has turned out to be a nightmare to deploy. Special drivers, firmware updates, etc. And at times, users complain of EXTREME slowness when using this dock. You have to unplug it, and plug it in again, sometimes several times, before it works with a USB-C equipped laptop (Dell). USB docks were horrible when they first came out, and although this much improved over initial offerings, they still are not a s reliable as a dedicated docking port on a laptop.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A solid and "True" docking station Unlike the D3100, the D6000 is an actual docking station (as the D3100 is essentially useless because it doesn't charge your laptop, which with all the cords becomes cumbersome for people who travel a lot) The D6000 does charge the laptop and works automatically on its own. The only thing you'll need to adjust is the "Closing the Lid" option on your laptop. It connects via a single USB-C cable so it won't necessarily work with really old laptops that don't possess such a port. All in all it's a solid piece of hardware, even if the price is a little steep, but that's Dell for you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth purchasing I work from home a lot. I desperately needed to connect two monitors from one connection on my laptop. This was a great product to get that done. I hooked two video cables to my Dell Docking station and I got a high quaily picture.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just what I needed! I got this docking station because my computer was lacking working ports. I really like that it has usb-c and usb-a ports as well as 2.0 and 3.0 ports. It has a port for my every need. It’s small and compact so I can have it discreetly on my desk. You can plug it up to any wall outlet or directly to your computer. I was upset because my computer didn’t have an hdmi port but now it does. This docking station really comes in handy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than others on the market You'll need to adapt to a new method of docking. I don't think it's bad, just a different method of docking that the mechanical docks. This dock will connect to legacy laptops, but won't charge them or power them on. They'll still need a separate power cord. However, it will charge future laptops - that utilize up to 65w USB charging. It does have a tethered adapter for USB A and USB C connections unlike other manufacturers. Also has dual displayport. This will truly work with most devices. One drawback is that it only has 4 USB ports.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love it. A tremendous piece of equipment. You connect one usbc connector from the dock to the laptop, and that supplies power to the laptop and simultaneously sends back Ethernet, display, audio, mouse, and keyboard instructions to the dock. Performance is excellent. Now I do not need a desktop computer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not Universal... I think that this dock is well-built and has an appropriate form factor to make it attractive addition to any desk. The problem is...it's not Universal. I have a Dell Precision 5530 and, while the dock will work with this, the dock generates an error when I turn my computer on and once booted that I'm using the wrong size A/C adapter (65w up to 130w). While I probably should have paid closer attention, I was disappointed that Dell (a) didn't call attention to this in (a) the name of the product, or (b) through a warning when the product was purchased. Calling it "D6000 Universal Dock (65w Power)" - plus adding some description calling this out - would have steered me to the right product to begin with. As it is, I'll be returning the dock.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice small format docking station, except the Ethernet port does not allow a connection. Works fine, but the ethernet port does not work. I have to plug my ethernet cable directly into my Dell Precision M6700 laptop, thus negating the whole point of a dock. If you look on the net, seems I'm not the only one who has discovered this incredibly annoying flaw - Also, the Usb 3.0 connection to the laptop is somewhat flimsy. Still, for the most part it does what a dock should do, so I'm not too bummed out about these major and minor nits.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Can't run three monitors, constant ghosting/hanging on monitors requiring unpluggin and replugging DPort cable, no power button, can't handle High Contrast mode Been using this at work for about 8 months now and caused no end of issues. Got a new Latitude 7480 and this docking station, as well as two new Dell U2415 monitors. Also tried to use it with an old (VGA) Dell 2209WA monitor (with various VGA-to-HDMI adapters). First, you can't use all three outputs at once whatever you do. Two DisplayPorts work or one DisplayPort+one HDMI connection but never all three together. I have to plug the VGA monitor into the actual laptop HDMI port to get all three working. Secondly, the monitors constantly can't handle stuff on the screen, particularly as I'm usually using High Contrast mode (Windows 7) (ie white/yellow/green on black backgrounds). Frequently, I get ghosting when moving applications around the screen and very often I get a complete hang of the screen requiring me to pull out the DisplayPort plug from the dock, wait for the laptop to configure itself to the other screens, then replugging it (effectively 'rebooting' the monitor). When you lock the screen to leave your desk, it can't handle it and I have to do the unplug-replug thing 100% of the time. Every single time. It's like the graphics processing that (I assume) is happening within the dock is nowhere near the one the laptop can deal with, as none of this happens when I'm using the laptop screen and an additional direct HDMI connection. As mentioned in pretty much every review above, this does not have a power button, which I can't for the life of me understand. Part of the point of having a dock is so that I can switch it on without having to open it, surely? Anyway, there is a way of setting your laptop in Power Options (I think it's 'Never Sleep') that means you can open it, turn it on and shut it without it going straight to sleep. But the fact that I had to look for that for a few hours before finding the solution makes it a royal pain in the jacksie and definitely not user-friendly. In summary, rubbish.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not compatible When purchased an Precision 5530, it was stated by Dell that this dock would be fine. It is NOT. The power delivery for the docking station is 65W and the laptop requires a 130W power source.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Abject Failure The whole point of a docking station is to be able to drop your notebook into a dock and start working without fiddling with a bunch of cable connections and such. Conversely, you're supposed to be able to quickly remove the laptop without playing with cables. This device isn't a dock as it doesn't fulfill these core requirements.. It lacks ports that business users expect (like VGA), necessitating an expensive analog to digital converter. It doesn't have a power button, so the simple act of turning on your machine means pulling it out, opening the lid (assuming you have clearance) and then powering on and closing the lid, hoping that the machine doesn't then go into sleep/hibernate, depending on its state. Though it has USB3 support, the dock won't supply power if your laptop doesn't have a USB type C connection, making it very model specific and certainly NOT "Universal". Clearly whoever designed this dock didn't actually use it in the way Dell's customers will. My guess is that this is a generic part rebranded with a Dell logo. Look elsewhere if you want something thoughtfully designed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works like a champ! Works exactly as indicated. I use it for both a personal and work laptop to allow multiple monitor use. I can charge the laptop through the USB-C plug so it saves having to drag out another power cord. I did have to perform a simple update to my video driver.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Power Pass thru is limited to 65 Watts Overall this has been easy to use. Handles two monitors effortlessly. One thing that could be clearer is whether you will need two power supplies (one for the docking station and one for the computer). My experience is with laptops, so my conclusion is that: 1. If you have a laptop with USB-C, and 2. If your laptop requires only a 65 watt power supply You should be able use the docking station to power the laptop. 3. If your laptop requires a power supply larger than 65 watts, you will probably need two power supplies. I acquired at 130 watt supply to power the docking station, but the laptop still only recognizes the USB-C as providing 65 watts, and in my case the laptop battery still discharges slowly during the day. This creates some clutter (two power supplies, one docking station, and laptop, with cables to my two monitors. Otherwise, I'm happy with the docking station. Its been plug and play.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works Great in my Home Office! I have been using this docking station daily in my home office for about a month now and must say it works great! Setting it up was super easy, I just followed the instructions to download the drivers and hooked everything in. I have used other docks in the past but this is the first one that truly does everything I need it to. I run two high resolution monitors with no problem whatsoever, there's even space to add a third. There are lots of ports for other components as well. I really like that it is so sleek and compact, taking very little space on my desk and eliminating the need for a ton of cords. I am highly satisfied.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not Compatible with Inspiron 15 5000 I bought this after chatting with Dell online. I asked for a docking station that would charge my laptop and support multiple monitors. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stops Working 3-5 Times a Day Regularly, this product stops working and requires unplugging it and re-plugging it back into your computer. Any external monitors will go black, and any peripherals will be disconnected until you disconnect and reconnect it. I have uninstalled the reinstalled the drivers multiple times. Many users online are encountering similar things. There are a lot of better alternatives to this out there.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tested as an Evaluation Looking at using this in the work place to allow hot-desking for different types of laptops. I tested this with both a Dell XPS 2-in-1, MS Surface Book v1, Lenovo X240 and T450 all running Win 10 albeit using DisplayLinks own drivers, and apart from having to use the other manufacturers charges the connectivity was perfect. Mightily impressed. I even stressed test the USB 3.0 side by running a Skype for Business session, running You-tube and running an SMB file transfer in the background and it's really usable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awful for Dell's own 4K monitors Seriously, this thing is terrible. It causes my wired mouse and keyboard to lag and miss polling, and the 2x U2417 monitors lag really badly. I have a feeling that's it's USB3.0 w/ Type-C instead of 3.1 w/ Type-C. Seems like my ethernet speed slows down as well with that. I had better luck just plugging everything into the laptop itself than this thing, which makes moving the laptop a huge pain. Customer service blamed the monitors and my laptop instead of the dock. Does the same behavior on another laptop and monitor set.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works Great! This docking station by Dell is super easy to install and use. Both my husband and I have an HP and they both work wonderfully with this docking station. It comes with instructions on how to install the driver and thankfully, I didn't even need to do anything with that. My laptop installed it automatically. I like that it's a universal dock and so any laptop can be easily hooked with it. It has one HDMI and two display ports. It also has an ethernet and four USB ports. What I like the most about it, is that it doesn't affect the image quality/resolution when both of our laptops are hooked onto this station. It is simple but absolutely powerful. You have the option to choose from two different sizes of USB "sticks" that you can use to hook to your device in case you don't find one of the sizes. It's lightweight and convenient too. The cables are long enough to reach the outlet even if you are sitting a little distance away. I really love this product. I think it comes in very handy for students, especially if they are studying together or have a project that they're working on. It can come in very handy, especially during busy exam sessions at the library where you would just need a single outlet with multiple devices attached with this docking station. It is also useful in offices too. I'd definitely recommend it to everyone.

The purpose of a docking station is to have all your peripherals for your computer plugged in all the time, just 1 plug for your laptop and you are up and running. What is missing from this information is the fact that you still have to plug your laptop power cord in, the docking station does not supply the 130W necessary to your computer, even though it has a 130W power cord. Yeah, it's a "minor inconvienence" to have to remove my power cord and bring it with me every time I want to take my computer away from home, or buy a second power cord. It also doesn't recognize an HDMI cable, only the DVP (higher quality yes but if it has the port it should recognize the cable).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works I have 2 4k displays and I am able to run them both off of my macbook and my laptop pc. Worked flawlessly with both systems. I will note that I was doing browsing and productivity work and not gaming. I have only tried 2 monitors and not 3 so I cannot say how well it does 3. It also has ethernet, audio, and usb ports to attach a handful of peripherals. Overall, works great for what I am using it for!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dell Docking station Universal Dock D6000 Just what I needed! I love the Dell Docking station Universal Dock D6000. It is just what I needed. What I like best about this device is that I don't need any other adapters or chargers. I can just plug in directly to this Universal Dock. That frees up desk space. It has a port for my every need. My laptop did not have enough ports to plug in all devices that I would need at once. I would have to choose what I wanted to use. Now I can have multiple monitors. I like that I can use hdmi cable. This works great and fast there is no lagging. I would recommend this to everyone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Know the limitations before you buy! 1) The Docking Station does NOT have a power button to power the computer on - must open the laptop to push the powerbutton. 2) The Docking Station does NOT have the power (65W) to power the Inspirion 15 which needs 95W, therefore two power cords are required. In my opinion this device should be called something other than Docking Station, probably USB extender would be more accurate. Does connect monitor and printer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good for use with Thunderbolt 3 This is an update to my earlier review... still would recommend. My friend and I use these docks with our Dell Latitude 7480 ultrabooks, both of which are Thunderbolt 3 equipped, capable of passing display info, USB and charging over the same USB C cable. After installing the DisplayPort driver on both laptops per the enclosed instructions and rebooting the PC, everything was plug and play, with a couple of quirks, which I'll outline below: First, the docking station does not have an on-off switch, which means you need to connect it AFTER the computer has been turned on. While you can restart with the dock attached, you need to follow this "reconnect" procedure any other time the computer has been shut down, as not doing so can result in some of your devices not being recognized by the dock. Second, there are some scenarios where Windows 10's ability to support multiple monitors with different font scaling and resolutions can be a bit buggy when using this dock. While my setup, which has a 1080p display on the laptop and two 1080p external monitors plugged into the dock worked as expected (being able to set font scaling separately for the laptop and my external displays separately without a problem), my friend's laptop, also has a 1080p display, but a U3415W as the external monitor, was a bit more quirky. When we plugged the dock into his computer for the first time, his external monitor displayed 1080p as well, which is well below the native resolution of the monitor (3440x1440). To get everything to work correctly, we set the resolution and font scaling for the external display in Windows, then disconnected the laptop from the dock, and reset font scaling for the laptop's smaller display. From that point forward, the two displays worked as expected when used separately, but when the laptop is plugged into the dock with it's display open, it still tries to match the scaling of the larger display. While this was not a deal-breaker in my friend's scenario, be aware this could happen with your setup as well, particularly if you're trying to mix and match resolutions between the display on the laptop and any external displays. Overall I'm very happy with these docks and would recommend them to anyone trying to hook up a laptop with a Thunderbolt 3 connection.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Designed for FAIL Description states that it's "designed for" multiple models... however not for full functionality. Replaced a D3100 with this D6000 because this one will charge the laptop as well. 2 docks and multiple hours with Dell support and they tell us that it will not charge our Latitude 3580 because this machine doesn't have the USB-C port. Apparently "Designed for" doesn't include FULL FUNCTIONALITY. 0 benefit from the D6000 over the D3100 without the USB-C port... even though the adapter connector is built in to the cord.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dell universal docking station I really love my new docking station from Dell. This docking station connected easily to my laptop because it’s equipped with USB-C or USB3.0. I was so excited that it was compatible with my laptop and it’s compatible with lots of PC’s I easily connected it to my mouse, keyboard and speakers. With plug and play, connecting to the dock is fast and convenient. You can plug in a single USB-C cable and transfer audio, video, data and power. The single cable eliminates the need for an additional power adapter and kept my workspace clean and clutter free. I love this docking station and recommend to all Pc users

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worse than the older (and much better) D3100 I use this equipment professionaly together with a Dell G7 A40 and i must say that it is far worse than the previous D3100 model that i also have. The cable that connect this to the notebook is no longer detacheable, making this a rather short-lived equipment. Add this to the much worse EDID management for multiple monitors / projectors and much higher latency when using multiple outputs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Only Partially Functional for Alienware Laptop I contacted Dell Customer support, seeking a docking station compatible with my Alienware 17 R4, and in particular, one that would be compatible with a 4K monitor. They directed me to this model. However, I discovered after receipt that it was in fact only *partially* compatible with the Alienware 17 R4. After some work with Customer Support, it was determined that this docking station (and in fact, apparently *any* currently available Dell docking station is not 100% compatible with the Alienware 17 R4. Apparently this is because Dell docking stations are unable to convert the rather heavy video requirements of the R4 to an external 4K monitor while gaming. It functioned on the external 4K monitor...so long as I never gamed on the laptop; the very reason I wanted a docking station in the first place. I ultimately decided to keep the docking station, as it does effectively convert the sound, mouse, and keyboard functions to external units - so, some usefulness. However, it is not the 100% compatibility that I was led to believe. Perhaps if I had been advised of this during the acquisition process I would have been less disappointed. Other than its technical limitations with the R4, it has performed its secondary functions well. My guess is that it is probably fully compatible with most other Dell laptops.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product The design is very appealing: a very simple, small black box with a subtle power/status LED. Absolutely awesome. Light, small, and compact. I'm very satisfied with this product. I surprised how awesome it is. I have two external monitors that I wanted to use with my laptop. It worked right out of the box. Plugged it all in, did Windows update, rebooted and both of my Dell 27in monitors just worked. Power delivery worked as expected, USB ports, Ethernet, and audio all work well. You’ll be able to connect up to three 4K displays simultaneously. It also eliminates the need for an additional power adapter. Simple set-up, ease of use and very good performance. I highly recommend!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from For what it is meant to do, it works well. I bought this for my son. He wanted a dual head setup for his laptop. We put a monitor on either side of his laptop and he can move windows around, play games on one, listen to youtube on another, and have his homework that he is supposed to be doing on a third. The other reviewers are correct. It doesn't charge the laptop. and it can be a little slow with responses from the keyboard. But it does work and he loves it. So for me, that is what matters most.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Docking Station I got this Dell Universal Docking station to use to transfer information from my laptop computer to multiple display screens. It only requires one Usb cable to transfer my data to the three display screens. The Usb cord is included with the docking station along with a power cord and power adaptor. It is very easy to use connect the cords from your laptop to the docking station and then connect the cords from your monitors to the docking station and you are done. The data transfers really quickly and you are able to connect the docking station to your laptop. Ultrabooks. MacBook or window pro tablet. Pros: easy to use light weight saves space cons: I thought the cable sits loose in the docking station but it holds and I h avent had a problem with it falling out. I would recommend this docking station it works great and it gets the job done.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dock Installation Notes The Dock was easy to set up with a single cable into the Laptop for Power and all of the peripherals. Personally I prefer a 'wired' internet connection while at home/office and this provides that perfectly. The only request for design improvement is to make the labels for USB and Display ports a bit easier to read. I did mount this on the back of the monitor which helps to keep the cables out of the way. But in the end, very happy with the results. It is interesting that you can 'daisy chain' docks to increase the number of monitors, not that I need to, but interesting anyway...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great! Beware the dock has a 65w power limit! I bought this about a month ago to consolidate all my wires for the various laptops I use at my desk (Macbook pro, Dell G7 7590, Precision 7510). It works perfectly except the dock can only provide 65w max power to the system. I have to connect my G7 and Precision to a power adapter to avoid the power warnings. Make sure you know the power requirements for your computer and know if your ports can accept power before purchasing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No Substitute for a Proper Dock Why, Dell, why? Phasing out the e-Port docks in favor of these USB-based monstrosities feels like a huge step back! It feels like the original e-Port docks were created by engineers, and the D6000/WD15/TB16 docks were created by Dell management. We went with (several of the D6000 because of the two full DisplayPort connections - somehow a step up from the WD15 (with one mDP, one HDMI) and TB16 (with one full DP, one mDP, and an HDMI). Any dual monitor scenario without the D6000 would require adapters and/or varying cables. It's 2017, how could that possibly be reasonable when trying to scale for a corporate solution? Of course, if you stick with the D6000 for your multi-monitor support, you're going to have to make sacrifices. The power button is the first to (somehow) go, which means if you dock your laptop closed, you're going to have to open it and boot it all the way up before you can close the lid again. Naturally that may or may not work though, because you've got to make sure you're up-to-date with your 'DisplayLink' software and drivers. Ah yes, long gone are the days of dock your laptop and go - now you need additional software, which may or may not be buggy, to get your dock working correctly. Just recently we fought through a problem with network connectivity through the dock, which turned out to be a bug with the DisplayLink application (the most recent release resolved the problem). Of course that begs the question - how often will I have to deal with problems in the software? And there's a reason we've stayed away from USB-based docks in the past: *reliability*. With the old e-Port dock, you clicked your laptop into place and that's where it stayed, securely in place. Now, with the new line, it seems the livelihood of your entire setup hinges on this long, thin USB-C connection. Bump it, and you're done. Move the laptop in a way that bends the cable, you're done. How did any of these issues make it past management and QA? Like I said - these docks were created by management, not engineers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does NOT fully support Latitude 5580 Despite what the product description says, this dock is NOT compatible with all Latitude 5580 laptops. I recently got a 5580 with the NVIDIA 940MX GPU, which requires a 90w power supply. This dock can only supply 65w, which means that in order to use the dock, I have to have both the dock and my laptop's 90w power adapter plugged in. This knowledge base article clearly says that the D6000 is only compatible with the 5580 with integrated graphics: http://www.dell.com/support/article/us/en/19/sln307359/dell-universal-dock--d6000--system-charging-limitations?lang=en It seems to me that having to plug in more than one cable kind of defeats the purpose of a docking station, right? Especially when it costs as much as this one does! The description needs to be updated to reflect that the Latitude 5580 with non-integrated GPU is not supported.

I did install the DisplayLink drivers and the Dell recommended drivers which was recommended and it works amazingly well. Honestly prior to getting this, I was unfamiliar with a product like this but it has taught me quite a lot! Some things it can do are: Enjoy Ultra HD 5K on a single screen or up to three 4K displays via USB-C Supports up to three 4K displays or a single 5K Display Conveniently connect any laptop equipped with USB-C or USB3.0 with the Dell Universal Dock - D6000. Whether you're at your desk or in a shared workspace, you can easily connect to displays, a mouse, keyboard and audio devices from your compatible system of choice. You will not be disappointed! Rated 5 out of 5 by from **READ BEFORE PURCHASE!** Port Replicator; Doesn't Power most any Laptop! While the D6000 has certainly increased my productivity with 3 screens running and other devices able to connect (Flash drive, tablet, phone charging, etc), what it does not make clear is this is just a port replicator for pretty much any laptop you can think of. If I had known that, I would have looked for another option before spending a lot of money on this. I bundled it with a brand new Vostro 5391 and you would hope at that point a message would pop up in your dell online cart that warns there will not be full compatibility. Long story short, you will need a power supply to the dock and also a power supply to your laptop. Essentially it's not an all-in-one cord to your laptop. This means you will have to get under your desk every time to retrieve a power cord if you are about to travel/be on the go/do work at home. Or, you can give more money to purchase a THIRD power supply to be your travel cord. This product is good as a port replicator, but has a large annoyance with relation to feeding power. I would not consider this a TRUE dock.

This creates a huge mess of wires, and has no way to turn on the laptop without opening it. Why are we reverting to a less superior product? For business, smaller is not always better. I convinced my work to switch all desktops to laptops because the old laptop docking system worked flawlessly and made it similar to a desktop. Now it is a huge mess and unhelpful.

I believe i was able to get 4K resolution for applications with simple graphics...i was able to view fine print text on large screens well. The main reason why this product received 2 starts is that is made my system lag horribly. I did some research and, apparently, when you use it the GPU gets bypassed and the cpu does all the work. I’m sure there is a reason for that but i felt like it was a pretty poor design due to that feature. I had to buy the graphics amplifier and an external GPU to meet my needs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works well, has some quirks Reasonably easy to set up and picked up my two monitors quickly. Unable to run monitors if 2 in 1 laptop in tablet mode. Also, had issues figuring out external speaker. Finally, unlike an old-school docking station, you can't close the lid and still run the laptop.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Poor docking station I'm so disappointed I bought this piece junk. Its so poorly thought out that I have to down load a driver to make it work. It just adds wires for a basic configuration and no value added. Have a Alien laptop and still have to plug in my power supply seperate so why buy it. Need to plug my display into the computer to use. If its that hard to hook up a monitor why buy it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Versatile Laptop Docking Station Universal Dock - D6000 facilitates multi monitor set up however for Inspiron 15 3000 model it does not provide for AC power source via USBC port. As a result, laptop power port must be used requiring dedicated AC power source. Other than that, no complaints.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A bit buggy I found this Dell docking station D6000 to be a bit buggy but works none the less. Initially I had to try multiple times to download the software. And the concept of a docking station means you can drop in, drop out with your laptop without having to deal with all these cables. But the option to be universal with having the ability to accommodate both USB C and USB 3.0 located on one single cable evens that out! The box included pretty basic instructions that seemed easy to follow. This dock allows you to be prepared for future tech purchases! You can hook up to 3 4K displays or 1 5k. Has a HDMI port and 2 display ports. It’s convenient to be able to have speakers, printer and larger display already hooked up and only deal with a single cable when I’m in a hurry. The design is simple yet futuristic and overall seems durable. I do recommend this piece of tech to friends and family for the convenience !

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So close, but a few significant issues Great idea, I love the possibility of having charge + data in one connection. I like the port selection and layout, and the combination USB-A & USB-C plug is a very good idea. However my problem is the "tail" cable that runs to your laptop, it should be detachable. If I destroy the plug, the whole port replicator has to be replaced. Also, the tail cable is too short, I need it to be 2m long so it can go on my laptop riser arm neatly (if it was detatchable, I could buy my own cable). Performance wise, it's got those normal latency of displylink, can't avoid that.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great with XPS 15 9550 I'm running a 2016 Dell XPS 9550. This dock is currently running: - 1440p Ultrawide Monitor over Display Port (3440 x 1440) - 1440p Normal Monitor over Display Port (2560 x 1440) - Ethernet - Mouse - Keyboard - USB Headset I use the USB-C style plug directly into the laptop. It does not charge the Dell XPS 15, so plan accordingly. I didn't have to update firmware or anything special. Not sure why this thing has so many negative reviews. It's freakin awesome.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Broken within two weeks The only reason I bought this was based on the recommendation from Dell. This was supposed to be the ideal docking station for my new Dell laptop. It was supppsed to be able to power and support multiple displays. The USBC3.1 hardwire stopped functioning within two weeks. The firmware for this docking station, even though only a few months old, isn’t compatible with Windows 10. I spent three weeks and more than 30 hours online with “tech suppprt” only to replace the dock with a Targus bran with no issues and for less money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to set up and operate I was looking for a docking station that not only would be compatible with my devices but also be compact. Dell Universal Docking Station D6000 was easy to set up right from out of the box. I just needed to download the drivers that came with the docking station as part of the initial start up and once I completed the set up, I was able to plug in both my laptop as well as another member of the family. It has ample ports so I could add my UHD 4K supported dual monitors as well. I was able to connect all my USB accessories such as my mouse and ear phones. This docking station is lightweight so it can be easily moved from room to room.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very useful for our home office My husband works from our home office often, and he wanted a way to connect his laptop to a larger monitor display. This allows him to use multiple screens at once so he doesn't have to switch back & forth between 2 open applications while working. It also allows him to view his work on a much larger screen than his laptop provides. The docking station has 4 USB ports, as well as 6 other ports for other types of devices, including a USB-C port. The only downside that I see is that the cable that connects to the computer is permanently attached to the device. If it ever gets damaged, it cannot be replaced. Other than that, it's very useful and we're getting lots of use out of it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Meh Make sure to check the power requirements of your laptop. Thought I would be ok since I didn't have a high-powered gaming laptop, but the dock doesn't have enough juice to supply power so it doesn't function as a true dock and still requires fussing with the power cable. Practically speaking, it's really more of a fancy USB hub.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Powerful computer; Some annoying features I bought this laptop to professionally run Neurofeedback and biofeedback programs with clients. While the performance of this laptop is great, it only came with a 103 gigabyte C drive, and I am getting message insufficient room to run even a program update. Much less the remaining couple of programs I want to install. I need guidance to remedy this situation. Some other less vital annoyances are placement of the usb, power and hdmi ports. Given the arrangement of my office, I would have preferred the power port, and lan port on the right side and the.usb and hdmi ports on the left. This is workable, while C drive size is critical, Thanks for checking .

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great with my Latitude E5450 (USB 3.0) and XPS 9365 (USB-C) Originally purchased the D1000 but quickly returned for the D6000...cost a bit more but being able to charge both the E5450 (USB 3.0) and XPS 9365 (USB-C) was worth it. Also, with the D1000 I had to purchase the DA200 adapter to work with the XPS. At the time of this posting; combining the cost of the D1000 (retails at $139.99) and the DA200 adapter (retails at $64.99) is more than the D6000 (retails at $199.99). However, I did decide to keep the DA200 to use with the XPS when I travel and want to connect to a TV or other device since the XPS only has USB-C ports. In the Quick plug and play between my e5450 and XPS 9365. With this dock I'm able to connect to projectors; TVs; etc.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dell Docking Station This Dell Universal Docking station is perfect for anyone looking to quickly dock their laptop at their desk without worrying about plugging/unplugging multiple connections. It has 4 total USB ports so you can hook up your keyboard and mouse and still have two open USB ports to use. You can also hook up to three monitors with 2 DisplayPort outputs and 1 HDMI output. There is also a speaker/headphone jack. The 1 gigabyte ethernet port provides you with a high speed network connection. To dock, all you need to do is plug in the USB cable from the docking station to your laptop. Its as simple as that. I use this with my personal laptop running Ubuntu Linux OS and my work laptop running Windows 10. All ll I need to do is swap out the usb connection from one laptop to the other, no messing around with unplugging all those other connections and plugging them into the other laptop.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Dock Overall I got this dock along with a new Latitude 7490 from my IT group at/for work. My local IT got everything setup for me, and all was good for the first month. My 27" Dell (U2713HMt monitor and an older 24" Dell (2407WFPb) monitor were both detected & worked once setup. My only quibble is that I cannot seem to get the 27" (main) monitor to display at the full 2560x1440 resolution. Instead it is limited to 2048x1152. There is a DVI KVM in the mix which requires that I use DisplayPort-to-DVI adapter cables. Each of the three are rated for higher resolutions. So there has to be some type of interoperability issue between them. My laptop developed a fatal blue screen which ended with Dell Support swapping out half of the internals. When I got it back, I discovered that only the USB ports worked on the dock. Both video ports & the wired network port were no longer recognized by my laptop. That led to a call to Dell Support, as it was after hours for my local IT folks, and the CSR (Customer Support Representative) pretty quickly advised me that the dock was not compatible with my laptop. CSR then suggested that I purchase their WD15 or another "compatible" dock. I reached out to local IT the following day, and was asked if I had downloaded & installed the DisplayLink drivers while the laptop was docked. I had not, as I knew nothing about that. I visited https://www.displaylink.com/downloads and within 10 minutes I was back running with this "incompatible" dock. One thing that I have noticed is that the dock runs on the warm side. It gets downright hot if you rest the back end of your laptop on it. So, it is probably best to give it some space.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from MacBook Pro In the world that we live today, to simply excuse yourself by presenting a limited list of "compatible" devices simply doesn't cut it anymore. Where are we, the 70's? Are you going to ask me to buy from an authorized reseller next? Yes, I have a MacBook and I expect a product to be compatible with my machine. And this one is not!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from three monitor support is invaluable This solution works great for supporting three monitors although on occasion signal is lost on startup. Usually the user has to disconnect the power and then reconnect to get the monitors and the network connection to work.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Engeneers failed... The idea of docking station with this D6000 model have no sense any more... Instead of putting laptop on the docking station you have to find the USB-C wire and connect to laptop (is it a "docking" station?). It doesn't have to power button, so it means you have to open the cover every time you want to start your laptop... When you have connected 2 external displays the LAN bandwidth goes down by 50%... TRAGEDY!!!

I tried 4 different laptops and 7 different monitors and couldn't get it to work right. 2 display port monitors work, hdmi and the second display port monitor worked, using the first display port with hdmi would not work.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent video quality, built well, no problems High Performance, tough to get all ports working properly with my Lenovo carbon which I love. However the real video performance is very good and it has audio output for speakers. Bought this more expensive device because of Dell's reputation of solid quality, currently using this with 2 of 2K 27 inch Samsung monitors, a Samie 28 inch flat monitor arrives, and looking forward in placing that one on real 4 k graphics and the 2 of 2k monitors, didn't see any other choices in this quality level and price. No issues of video or user response lag issues connectors seem solid. Looking at this to be a long-term solution for multi-screen applications.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gets the job done and so far reliable 3 Stars for no user reported issues so far. Took a star away for being the only option in this price range that powers the laptop forcing us to accept the 1 HDMI/2 DP configuration even though none of our monitors have display ports. Kind of frustrating having to also replace cables that convert to DP. What happened to the WD15 with the HDMI/VGA which covers nearly all monitors? Why doesn't this one include a power button? Another star lost for only feeling like somewhat of a value when significantly discounted. I can't be the only one that feels like docks are way over priced. On a side note, the fluctuating prices on Dell.com are kind of maddening.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Might Not Match Your Laptop--BUYER BEWARE! The Dell website recommended this model for purchase with my Dell laptop. Incredibly, it was not a match to my model, and the computer wouldn't charge. Luckily I called service on Day 29 and they were able to confirm the incompatibility and accept the return. They warned me, though, if I had waited until Day 31 it would have been a problem because it was outside their 30 day return window. An extremely disappointing experience. I've only bought Dell for 20 years but this has really shaken my confidence in the brand.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Massive Connectivity! This universal dock offers the connectivity for your laptop that you are looking for with the ability to connect in a myriad of ways. It connects to your laptop either with USB 3.0 or USB-C, which means it's future proofed for any future tech I may get! I love that it has the ability to support up to (3) 4K displays, or 1 5K display! It has video output for 2 displayport and 1 HDMI. I am using this with my Microsoft Surface Pro 5 via USB 3.0 and everything works flawlessly so far. I have hooked up my printer, an HDMI connected projector for a presentation, and of course my displayport 4K monitor when I want to work on a larger screen. It is so much easier to hook up the peripherals to the dock rather than trying to connect items to my laptop with hubs and cables. I think this dock is a better buy than other docking stations available on the market. Make sure to download the latest firmware to the dock before hooking up your external equipment! The instructions are in the box and I found updating it to be very easy, but I am pretty comfortable with technology. Great buy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from How can a dock not have a power button? I'm thinking, "surely I must be missing something...where's the power button?" There's not one. You have to open up the laptop and turn it on from there. In addition, the design of these thing results in a nasty rat's nest of cables sprouting from all sides of it. Overall it's a huge downgrade from a traditional docking station. Not recommended.

The old E-dock extended the own gfx to the ports, this is a DisplayLink. Youtube lags. MKV lags. Scrolling a page lags. If the dock is connected, restarts takes forever. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Horribly misleading description; monitor support only for specific models The description clearly says that you can use it and connect up to three monitors on "any laptop equipped with USB-C." Except, apparently, any laptop not in the short "designed for" list at the very end of the tech specs, such as a Dell 7389 two-in-one, even though it has a USB-C port. On that, you can't even connect one. After an hour or so with tech support trying to sort out the reason why the laptop didn't recognize my monitor at all, they simply told me the laptop is not compatible. They recommend getting the WD-15 instead. Also had problems with another setup because the single HDMI port is too close to the power port. Admittedly, my cable ends in an unusually large adapter plug, but there's lots of room to place it more conveniently.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very smooth rollout We've deployed these docks for a staff of about 100, using a wide mix of computers: Dell, Macs, and BYOD. We needed a dock that would work for most devices we could throw at it, and this dock was the only one of those we tried that got close. The network and USB ports work out of the box, and with the DisplayLink driver installed, the screens work mostly fine (on Macs there's some incompatibilities that appear to be due to the DisplayLink drivers, but workarounds exist). The docks will also charge machines with USB-C ports, but with only USB 3.0 it still supports network, screen and the USB hub. Our staff have been very impressed at the ease of use, and we've been happy to allow people to work more flexibly and reduce our support burden by getting rid of the various adapters and cables needed to support both PCs and Macs in the same office.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works wonderfully! I have never used a docking station before, so this was my first experience. It was so easy to get everything set up and connected. Everything hooked up and worked very well together. It connects your laptop with a USB-3.0 or USB-C, so if I get any new products, it is future proofed! I am using my laptop and a few other devices at the same time, and it works like a charm. It is so much easier to connect things to the docking station rather than having all of these cords coming out of my laptop. If you have a small space, it makes a huge difference!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Garbage Limited support, doesn't work well with all products, you need to update the firmware to get it to even work. Don't think about using a KVM with it because none seem to work, nothing but display issues. A few months after purchase one monitor quit working and then a few months later the second one quit working unless I connected them directly to the laptop. Dell replaced the station and a few months later one monitor quit working through the station and now a few months later neither one will work through the station. Don't buy this station. If I could give it a zero instead of a one star I would. Dell support was good, but it took a long time on the phone to resolve this and they sent a remanufactured one that didn't last long either.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works well with some quirks. The docks works well and is very well made but I have 2 issues with it. I have the dock plugged into the Thunderbolt input of my G7 laptop. I also have the power supply that came with my G7 plugged into my laptop. On boot up I get a message that I have the dock plugged into an input than cannot accept power from the dock and that I should plug in the power supply directly to the computer, something which I have done. I then push on continue and the computer boots normally. The second issue is I have the dock plugged into an Ethernet port. When testing internet speed I get about 30Mbs download and over 100 Mbps upload. When I plug the same ethernet cable directly to my computer I get the same 100Mbps + for both. If it wasn't for those 2 issues I would give it 5 stars..

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great features - Everything I needed I bought an XPS 13-9360 laptop for business and needed some additional ports (Ethernet, VGA, HDMI, etc.). The D6000 meets the requirements. Two things I like about it. First, it connects to the XPS via the USB-C port, which is super nice because it charges my XPS. Second, it has a plethora of ports: one Ethernet port, one HDMI port, two Display Ports (DP), four USB 3.0 ports (one of those carries a current), one USB-C port, a headphone jack and a speaker jack. All my peripheral devices go through the D6000 (mouse, external monitor, Ethernet, USB headphones) - nothing else is connected to my XPS. The device does not have a VGA port, so I bought a DP-to-VGA adapter. I like the fact that it is powered (i.e. plugged into the wall). This beast can chain together a bunch of devices, if needed. I am very happy with the purchase and would recommend the device.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pretty poor replacement for the old-style dock Positives: 1. Works OK for me so far, no flickering on screens although I've only got one monitor on it. Mouse OK etc. 2. Software install is needed, but it was easy enough to install and seems to be stable Negatives: 1. It doesn't come with software, you have to chase it down which was harder than it should be to find. 2. Most likely will not supply enough power to charge your laptop, so you have to plug in an AC adapter as well - really annoying for me as the AC adapter plug has been changed on this model and I only have one supply and carrying it around, connecting and disconnecting it every day is annoying. If the battery is charged then I can get away with only using the dock supply, but charging is required the dock continually connects and disconnects until an AC adapter is connected. 3. The long springy cable that doesn't want to straighten up has a massive USB3 adapter on it which does not make it a neat setup. The plug does not feel like its going to last years. 4. No power button on the dock. Stupid design decision there. 5. The design means there is no neat way to install this. Cables go to/come from three sides of it. Unless you can wall mount it (somehow, no mounting holes on the case) you end up with a cable spider on your desk. Conclusion: The old docks were good, this is not good. Save your money, use an AC adapter as the dock probably won't charge it anyway, and just buy a third party network/USB/graphics adapter. There are plenty around for much less than this.

I really needed an extra charger to avoid forgetting to pack the charger. It does NOT charge the laptop. Dell does not sell one capable of also charging the laptop. Used the Display Port connectors on the back of the unit for the monitors, plugged in my accessories, plugged the dock into the USB-C connector on my laptop, and everything set up without any hassle. My only gripe about this dock (and it's minor) is that there's no power button. Would have been nice to be able to turn on the laptop with the lid closed. Other than that, absolutely no gripes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works With XPS 13 and MacBook Pro I have an XPS 13 2-in-1 (9365) and a MacBook Pro (mid 2017) - both connect to the Dell D6000 Universal Dock via USB-C without issue. I have been using the dock for over 3 months without incident. The dock powers both devices, and extends the display across two 27" displays via DisplayPort to HDMI. All ports (Ethernet, USB 3, USB-C, 3.5mm Audio) work without incident on both devices. I appreciate that this docking station has a built-in adapter to convert the USB-C to USB-A which makes it compatible with a larger selection of devices, albeit without charging capabilities. Dell recently released a firmware upgrade for the docking station... if you are having issues, you may need to consider updating the firmware; it takes an incredibly long time to upgrade and may have to be attempted more than once. For Windows devices, be sure to download the appropriate drivers; they can be downloaded from Dell's D6000 Support page or universal drivers from Display Link can also be used. On a Mac, you should go directly to the DisplayLink website to download the latest drivers for your version of macOS. There is a known issue with DisplayLink and macOS that may prevent operability; this is discussed on their site and beta drivers are available for use. I was able to utilize the dock while running Sierra, High Sierra, and now Mojave (public beta). **Note: after installing the drivers, you may have to go to the "Security and Privacy" section of System Preferences and click "Allow" so the drivers are permitted to run. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Disappointed I can’t power up the computer from the docking station. As a result I have to keep the lid up on the laptop to power up. Also, for some reason I have to disconnect the docking station from the computer when powering up and then reconnect it in order for the usb devices I have plugged into the docking station to work. Big hassle for such an expensive item.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Buyer Beware!!! Dell website LIES!!! Right out the box when I connected Dock to my XPS 17(9710) I got an error message telling me the wrong charger is connected and I should use the one that came with the laptop. Which blew me away because it was listed and the dock to use with my laptop when I was placing my order with Dell for my laptop. When it works it is great but for some reason when my laptop goes to sleep and I try to turn everything back on the next day. Only the laptop will come on it does not recognize the other 3 monitors I have connected and everything was functioning fine the day before. So I have to go back in and set everything up again which is time consuming and very annoying to have to do setup all over again. Currently have a service ticket with Dell support to see if they can help get this squared away. Not sure why Dell would have something listed as to be for your computer and strait out the box you get a notification. What I forgot to mention was when dock was connected, laptop did not boot up properly. So the advice from Dell Support about the boot issue was to turn off the notification, then it booted up fine. But, it did nothing to fix the fact that my laptop keeps telling me it is in power saving mode due to slow charger connected, when all the power is coming from the dock. So buyer beware Dell is not very truthful when it comes to listing all the extras that will work with your new laptop.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Universal is a misleading descriptor. The ports on the device all work as advertised and seem to function well for the most part; however, there are two major issues I’ve had. First- this device only does 90W pass through charging, meaning it will not charge many of the devices that take 100W+ to charge- this is not made clear in the product advertising and makes it so that you have to have this AND the original charger plugged into the computer at the same time in order for the device to charge. This brings me to the next problem. As a result of having both devices plugged into my computer, there are now times when the computer doesn’t recognize any charger plugged in (including the original charger). Be sure you’re getting the correct device for your computer. Customer service won’t help because they’re not all knowledgeable about this point. I spoke to CS before purchasing and asked them about this and they told me that it is a compatible device and failed to mention the point about charging capacity.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Reasonably good Dell universal dock Works very well, with convenient docking. However, the wattage is a bit lower than I would have wanted and what I already have with my other dock. That other dock has a small light on the USBC head that lights up when the dock plugs into my laptop. I find that useful and this dock does not have that feature. However, that dock other would not be available for several months and I needed one urgently.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very pleased with this purchase. I too receive the message that this dock does not provide enough power to charge my laptop all the time, but does when my power consumption is low enough. This has not been a problem for me - I also have my battery management set to charge at specific times anyway. I was expecting to be able to use 3 external monitors and not be able to still use my laptop screen, but was pleasantly surprised to now have access to a total of 4 screens. The only disappointing (missing) feature is that there is no power button. I was planning on using just the three screens and keep my laptop closed and tucked away, but I now have to use my laptop power button so it needs to remain accessable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Kind of works... I got this for my Latitude 5491. When my laptop battery is <100% I can use the USB C plug from the dock into my laptop and everything works fine. However once my laptop battery is fully charged there seems to be some kind of power feedback/short that causes the dock to constantly disconnect/reconnect making it unusable. If I then put the USB-B sleeve over it and reconnect it to my laptop it works fine again... but obviously is no longer charging my laptop which is a bit annoying. I'm not sure if this is an issue with my model specifically or if others have this issue as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not Universal for Thunderbolt Devices Probably works great for older/lower end devices. In my ignorance I ordered this with a new XPS laptop on recommendation from the Dell site. WRONG. These newer/higher end devices have Thunderbolt USB tech that this dock does NOT support. It will function thanks to back compatability but not to the full potential of your high end ports. Most important of all you will not be able to charge your laptop properly with this dock as it does not provide enough juice on regular USB to do so which one could argue is the #1 purpose of a dock. 1 star to get ppl's attention so they can avoid the headache of being out hundreds of dollars for weeks while Dell processes the return and you buy another dock. Dell makes a Thunderbolt dock so get that one instead.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Makes connecting a laptop super easy It's so nice to have one cord connected to my laptop instead of 6. I connect 2 monitors, 2 scanners, a usb bluetooth connection for my keyboard/laptop, and a power supply all through one lightning usb cable connection to the laptop. The only thing I would point out is that there is only one hdmi connection. You will need to buy a Displayport to HDMI cable if you want to connect more than one monitor via hdmi.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Doesn’t work The cords appear to be not connecting right. The screen I have connected through the dock connects and then disconnects 30 seconds later and the reconnects and so on. I haven’t been able to use it at all because it’s impossible to work with it connecting and disconnecting constantly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wrong docking station recommended- LOUSY customer This doesn't give my new laptop (bought by Dell- Feb 2021) the power it needs. The Dell rep recommended this docking station even though it only feeds 65W of power into my computer- not enough for the computer and peripherals. LOUSY customer service! Before and after the purchase. Not only did the rep NOT call me the next day with the solution (he promised to have himself and/or a supervisor contact me the next day), the return ticket never came and I had to contact them(a week later- I wanted to give them the opportunity to get this right) to get the return ticket. I received a return label and FEDEX picked it up the next day- now it's been almost two weeks since it has been returned and I have not been credited for the return. The website does not state it has been received- I spoke with a CSR yesterday who acknowledged it was received April 9 (yesterday was April 19) and it's going to be "10-15 days" more before I am credited. I have earned many points from the laptop purchase (top of the line) and want to use them. Once they are credited to me, the next purchase may be my last with Dell. So disappointed!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hub I am a bit disappointed as I bought it so that i could keep my dell xps17 plugged in but it is a very slow charger. The XPS 17 requires 130watts and this provides up to 65 watts

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not fully compatible with XPS 15 7590 The device works fine but it is not fully compatible with XPS 15 7590. It apparently does not sent enough power to the laptop. External monitor has horrible lag with 3D platform and video games. It does not charge the battery.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Do not buy this - universal is misleading and support was non existent. Product is not universal. I asked for money back three times and nobody responded. Low wattage does not work for more powerful laptops (130w). I am not even sure what to do.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Set-up was annoying The only instructions that came with the docking station were printed on the interior carton, i.e., you need to download the driver. There was nothing about how the computer identifies multiple monitors. No instructions for first-time users on how to use multiple screens. Thought I had purchased a docking station that would charge the laptop, but that didn't happen. The screen just went black. Tried contacting tech support, but they weren't open. No instructions and tech support isn't available when you need them, but hey, spend hours going through copious amounts of other frustrated users trying to find what they need for models not similar to yours. Why is it so hard to include instructions for first-time users? How about a FAQs section? How about explaining how the two monitors are identified and that switching the cables will change the order of the screen identifications?
