It has the same desktop real estate as 2 x 27" monitors, but it feels so much bigger. The graphics are truly UltraSharp. I love having the space to open many windows without a monitor frame getting in the way. Would highly recommend.

We can all agree that Dell makes the ugliest monitor stands in the world. The displays, particularly on the U4919DW are very sophisticated however, and with the right monitor mount made my home office look polished and professional vs ac gamer battle station mess

I love the way I can divide the monitor into preset areas and drag a window to that area and have it expand to the full area. I only wish I had two. :)

Yes, I agree with the other reviews that it should be more curved, etc. but once you get used to this thing, you will see why it is so amazing. Won’t be going back. Color and clarity are excellent.

I had anticipated that the distance from the sides of the screen to my eyes would be close to equidistant as from the center at about 2.5 feet away. I was hoping to replace 3 monitors that I had configured in an arc with this and maybe one other monitor. While I now have more real estate, the ergonomics are not as good as my old set up. Otherwise, it is fine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Enjoyed it for two months So I purchased this monitor and used it for two months and my productivity was up. The monitor is mounted on an wall mount. I extended the monitor out and did some cable management. As I gently pushed the monitor back to make it flush up against the wall only making contact with the bezel the screen cracked. The screen cracked where the bezel meets the screen. I have handle high end monitors and know that this is not normal. Dell refuse to replace it so now I am out of $1350 and a huge paper weight. Awesome monitor poor design and/or support from DELL. I have used Dell for years now with personal devices and corporate accounts, not anymore.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Almost perfect. Still the best USB-C I've used. Purchased this to go with my new Macbook Pro, which previously I had a pair of the Apple Thunderbolt displays. I loved the idea of this display because it was the same size, pixel to pixel, as two of those (2560x1440, doubled up). Overall I've been extremely pleased, with some minor niggles. For one a couple of times since setting it up a few months ago, it has stopped working and needed a reset. This wouldn't be a big problem except due to not having a hard power switch it does need to be unplugged. Annoying, but not a huge problem. The more irritating issue is that when the Macbook is asleep, the display refuses to do as well, instead turning on after a few moments, saying "No signal," and then turning off again. When I'm gaming in the dark, I'll frequently roll over and turn off the display so it isn't switching on in my peripheral vision repeatedly, despite the mac never doing a single thing. That said, the pros far outweigh the cons. 5120x1440 at 60hz gives you expansive workspace for every task. Combined with BetterTouchTool's window snapping regions, this thing makes for productivity beast-mode. And it's surprisingly cool for a display this size. Build quality is solid, it doesn't feel cheaply made, and of course the benefits of your USB, video, and charging all being handled by a single USB-C cable. Speakers or an audio out would've been appreciated. Hopefully Dell will add that in the next iteration. Either way, I'm happy with this purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Oh Joy! It works! Hi there, I'm not a technical person, nor the brightest pencil in the box when it comes to computers. But I can say the monitor is very clear, sharp and WIDE. Sometimes I forget i actually have to move my head left and right to see the sides. I've had some problems reading text if its on the sides. You will have to twink a few older gaming resolution settings to be able to play them. As an example, DAOC character screen gets stretched but once logged in; resolution is fine. EQ2 gaming resolution settings can fully handle the monitor. But I'm not a tech person by any means this is what I have experienced. Yes, there are 2 ports in the back of the monitor, for 2 different computers to be hooked up. The problem is you have to manually switch to the appropriate port through the software that comes loaded onto the monitor. I've been in contact with Dell, their IT, tech department(s) haven't a clue how to show both computers side by side on the U4919DW. So if the reason for purchase is this, stay with what you have. If you don't have the manual, there is one at the dell site. Download it, because who knows how long access will be allowed. You will definitely need it when using the buttons on the bottom of the monitor. I gave it a 4 star because the monitor doesn't perform as envisioned when speaking to the sales rep. As to the recommendation; it would depend on why the person wanted the monitor before i would consider it. So it's a yes AND no to the recommendation.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Spectacular / Surface Laptop 2 / Mini-Display-Port to Display-Port cord I have a Surface Laptop 2 with the Surface Docking Station. The only connection I found to work was the Mini-Display-Port to Display-Port cord, and I had to update my Intel i5 Graphics card so it supported 4k. I fumbled around with different connections for a while, and called Dell support for advice 3 times and the stock answer from Dell was "oh, you don't use a Dell computer, sorry, we can't help". In case anyone wants to save time, the aforementioned cable works perfectly. Otherwise, the monitor is spectacular!

The UltraSharp 4919DW joins Samsung as a frontrunner company breaking new ground with ultra-wide monitors, and this first effort is a great sign of things to come! The 4919DW boasts an incredible display right out of the box, with excellent pre-calibrated color that is suitable for two things it technically isn't marketed for: Photo Editing and Video production. This is already a major feather in its cap, but the goodness doesn't stop there. Dell's software app allows you to split the display up into multiple "screens" that auto-snap moving windows with total ease. You can hot-swap screen layouts on the fly, and it works beautifully alongside Windows 10's Snap feature to create an easygoing experience. Want to use this monitor like two separate displays? No problem! Simply activate the dual monitor preset and enjoy it, without the bezel in the middle! It's brilliant and easy to use, though the app itself can be a little finnicky when trying to hover over the tray icon. There is a downside to this monitor, and that's the curve. There simply isn't enough of it to make it comfortable to see the far left and right. Now.....this will depend on how far away you're sitting from the monitor, but in a traditional desktop environment, I found that I had to crane my head a little to each side to see things like desktop icons. It's not a deal-breaker, but I would HIGHLY suggest Dell apply MORE of a curve into their next iteration of the monitor, as this would not only alleviate the stress of seeing the extreme far right and left, but would also reduce its horizontal footprint across the desk. If you're wondering whether you can game on this monitor.......OH YES, you can. As a professional video editor and photographer, the 4919DW is simply the perfect setup for me, but I like to game at the end of the day as well. Words can hardly describe gaming in a 32:9 aspect ratio for the first time. It's astounding! Most games have native support for the 5120x1440 resolution of the monitor, so you're good there. Some games require a little bit of tweaking, however. If you encounter a game that won't adapt fully to 32:9, check the PC Gaming Wiki for easy solutions. I was ASTOUNDED when I first fired up Titanfall 2, and managed to get inside a Titan for the first time. The 32:9 aspect ratio was used to clever effect by giving you a more detailed interior look of the Titan on the left and right sides, which bops up and down as the Titan runs, creating a realistic, immersive experience that is hard to describe. There are some things I'd have liked to have seen in a monitor of this quality (and price tag!), and of course that's 144hz refresh rate and G-Sync capability. This would of course drive the cost up higher, but hopefully Dell is taking notes and thinking about the future, when prices for this type of tech becomes more commonplace. It's BY NO MEANS a reason to avoid buying this monitor, however. 60hz is just fine for me (and most of us), and the 4ms response time is just fine for gaming. Only professional gamers with superhuman reflexes would dare to demand a 1ms response time. It's the best monitor I've ever owned, by far. I'm very impressed with Dell, and happy that they've decided to jump into this particular niche market. Well done!

Screen real estate is absolutely massive, and being able to put four documents side by side is amazing. Biggest challenges are when screen sharing (usually share laptop screen), native Windows organization is quadrants, but can be solved with additional software, content creation can be deceiving if you design for this monitor vs a standard 16:9 monitor (PowerPoint, video, etc), and no speaker (different from my Dell UltraSharp 34"). In a future revision, would love to have a button to toggle different resolutions (ie 16:9 1080p) to assist with screen sharing or to help visualize what others would see. Great monitor - still excited to use it every day!

I sit about 30 inches away. I have to shift my body to look at a program that is opened at either end of the display. I used to have a three monitor setup and I only had to rotate my head to look at side screens.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic monitor!! I was recently looking for an ultrawide screen, as I was in need of extra screen real estate, and decided on this 49" model. I was using two monitors side-by-side, but the gap between the two was unacceptable (even with their narrow bezels), as some programs use screen space across both monitors, effectively splitting the image. I love the screen resolution of 5,120 x 1,440, the images are crisp and the colors are vibrant right out of the box, no tweaking necessary. I believe this monitor truly increases productivity, you can have everything spread out across the monitor, and it has a slight curve, not as pronounced as some other brands. There are some other ultrawide monitors available on the market, but the ones I considered had a lower resolution, which kind of negates the benefit of an ultrawide.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Display - Provided all the Productivity Benefits I was Hoping for Excellent monitor. It's a great solution for using multiple computers side-by-side. The build and image quality are outstanding, and the setup was fairly easy. The only thing I find a little bit lacking is the hardware KVM. The KVM seems to limit the layout choices to fixed, side-by-side windows. Also, switching takes a moment for the shared USB devices to connect to the controlled device. The display manager software is pretty straightforward, but the documentation could be a little better. It will likely take a few hours to get really comfortable with the operation for a multi-system setup. One tip is to install the display manager on all devices, and to ensure you set the same shortcut key on each device as well. My pro tip is to use a software KVM in conjunction with this display to provide seamless control without having to switch using hotkeys. In the future it would be nice if the provided display manager sofware included a software KVM to augment the hardware KVM. Once I installed a thrid-party software KVM the productivity benefits of the display really started to shine. In particular, the ability to have work and personal computers accessible simultaneously are a real benefit.

To say quality, not that good, that that bad. It is very expensive, if you can use two monitors, don't buy it. For money, it does not worth it as such lots of money to remove the bezel. So, after used it around 1 month, I returned as DELL cheated me to say get me 50$, but never did. Plus this so so monitor.

When looking to the far edges on either side the view was blurred due to having to where glasses for working at my desk, and this monitor's edges where too far away for me to see clearly.

Upon turning the monitor on, there was a large area of defective pixels (~8 x 10 inches) at the right end of the display as well as several dark horizontal lines across the entire display. After an EXTREMELY frustrating hour with Dell support the order for a replacement monitor was finally placed. A week later, I am still waiting for the replacement.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great monitor for the price I bought this monitor about a year ago and it has been working great. It has a really high resolution and wide viewing angles. The software that comes with it, Dell Display Manager, also works great, allowing me to subdivide my screen to use it better. There are a couple of things that could improve 1. KVM switch in Full Screen: I wish the KVM input switching worked in full screen mode, not just PBP mode. The workaround is to use DDM, but that requires a few extra clicks. 2. When the display goes to sleep, it seems to disconnect the USB for inactive devices. So when you switch to a second device, you can't wake it up by using the mouse/keyboard connected to the monitor. You have to have another device connected to your second device, use that to wake it, and then your primary mouse/keyboard will connect.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A good display I've had a 34 inch Dell curved monitor at work for several years, and my co-workers are still envious of it. When I needed to replace my 8 year old desktop at home, I originally thought I would buy a duplicate monitor, but then discovered this beast. It is huge. But the display is every bit as good as the 34 inch; I've had no problems displaying DVD-resolution output on it. I have had no problems (you really do need two people to assembly it properly to its stand. The only suggestion to Dell for the next generation is to make it a little taller. The proportions just look wrong; plus spreadsheet and document editing would be easier (IMHO) if there were more vertical space.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Problems with USB sharing and a bit too wide After using this monitor for several months with my USB keyboard and mouse plugged into the monitor so I can switch between a Windows based desktop and my Macbook Pro laptop, I've noticed that quite often the mouse pointer motion will start lagging and will stutter on screen. At first I thought an App running on Windows was hogging the CPU but I discovered that pressing the power button on the monitor to turn it off and back on again fixed the stuttering. Sometimes the keyboard will be unresponsive too and powering the monitor down and back on fixes that, so it's an easy fix but there's obviously something wrong with the USB ports that share the keyboard and mouse between two computers. My other gripe is that although it's really easy to switch from Windows to Mac with a keyboard hotkey due to Dell's excellent monitor software that you can download for Windows to split the screen into dockable windows, this software isn't available for Mac so I have to press several buttons on the monitor to go from HDMI 2 to HDMI 1. You have to press a button to pop up a menu, then press another button to scroll down the list of inputs and then finally another button to select the new input. It would be much more user friendly if Dell had a dedicated button on the monitor that cycled through connected video inputs. Finally, I find the monitor to be just way too wide for my aging eyesight. If I were buying again then I'd probably choose two 38" monitors rather than this huge 49" one. The screen is decent though and I'd give it 3.5 stars if Dell allowed 1/2 but they don't so 3 stars it is.

The huge problem for me is that whatever program you assign to a screen region, it expands to fill that region. The only way I can control the size of a window/program is to turn off the Dell Display Manager. I found this to be a major set-back. Color was easily adjusted using the SpyderX Studio Datacolor system. The monitor is very sharp. The curve of the monitor is too shallow for me. As expected, the screen is heavy and difficult for me to move.

Using this instead of 2 monitors and my laptop screen has greatly increased multitasking abilities while also allowing for a less cluttered desk. Only possible complaint I could think of is that I wish the bezel was thinner, but considering it's a model from 2019 and the bezel doesn't affect the flow, that isn't really a big deal. The ability to split the monitor into essentially 2 different screens is also a surprisingly useful feature, especially if you have something preventing you from using the full resolution/aspect ratio.

It took me a while to set-up my new monitor, as I had to get a new desk to put it on as I was worried about the old table I used for a desk breaking with the larger, heavier monitor! So, after a couple of weeks of anticipation (and the acquisition of the new desk!) I was finally able to set up the monitor and put it to use. It has been amazing so far. Crystal clear images, fast response, and the monitor management software has been easy to use once I got familiar with how it works. Running two split screen 27" monitors with no middle bezel is the effect, and it works awesome! I couldn't be happier with my purchase so far - it makes me smile a little every time I sit down in front of it! And, it has already triggered some great discussions with family and friends as they see it in my office when they walk by! Next stop: running an awesome game or two on it, which I haven't yet tried.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A fantastic monitor that needs a bit more curve. The Dell UltraSharp 49inch Monitor is a behemoth and a sight to behold. The image is sharp, the colors are accurate, and the monitor has some great features that add versatility and utility to your desk. (For sake of transparency, Dell provided me with this monitor as part of their seed program to test and review for my company. Let's dive in! The Packaging: When I received the U4919DW, I was surprised at how large the box was. It was nearly as tall as I am! When I opened it, I found a well thought out design. The box was segmented into several zones, each having a number embossed in it. This made unpacking extremely easy, and with a big slab of a monitor to handle, very appreciated. As you unpacked it, you built the monitor stand first, then removed the cables, and finally mounted the monitor. Super easy! The Ports: The U4919DW monitor has a lot of useful port options: two HDMI 2.0 ports, two upstream and five downstream USB ports, one DisplayPort 1.4 port, and a USB Type-C port. The USB Type-C port can charge and power devices (up to 90W) while also transferring data. Now for the sweet surprise – the U4919DW’s USB is also a KVM switch! I was able to hook up two computers simultaneously and switch back and forth between the two using only one set of keyboard and mouse. Additionally, you can split the huge screen in half and dedicate each to the two computers attached. Dell calls this,” Picture-By-Picture.” That’s pretty nifty! The downside to all these handy ports is that they are located on the back underside of the monitor. I found accessing them to be difficult, requiring me to bend around the monitor unnaturally to get to them. The Screen: Ok, so I’ve said this thing is big, but it’s 48 inches wide. It’s the equivalent of two 27 inch monitors side-by-side…That’s the same width as my desk. I don’t have any fancy color testing devices but my overall impression is that the image is nice, uniformly lit, and not overly saturated. This produces a pleasing image to look at for long durations. The monitor also provides menu-based color adjustments that are easy to understand and get around. I did reduce the brightness from the default 75% down to 19%. The resolution is 5,120 X 1400. Sadly, this screen does not provide HDR. One note regarding using a Microsoft Surface Dock: I found that when you attach this monitor to the Microsoft Surface Dock, it is only able to produce a 3840 X 1080 resolution, due to the hardware limitations. This was surprising and disappointing; however, the image still looked great and was highly usable. Software: Dell provides a great piece of software called, Dell Display Manager, which allows you to create snapping zones with the monitor. This helped organize the windows on the screen and most people found this to be useful. This software is also where you find resolution settings, and the ability to do picture modes, such as the Picture-By-Picture, and turn on/off the KVM function. Using the U4919DW: Using this monitor produces a love/hate reaction in most people we tried it out on. They love the screen size and its ability to show lots of windows all at once. They love the presence this monitor creates and they feel like it is easier to do tasks that require side-by-side comparisons or to view a lot of data…then, after using it they start to complain that the left and right sides are too far away. Software menus become too far away. They find themselves leaning too often to view what’s at the far ends of the monitor and thus complain that their neck or back hurts. Plainly put – this monitor requires more curvature! Price: The price for this supreme piece of kit is $1,349.99 - $1,699.99, depending on where you buy it from. That’s crazy expensive considering you could just buy two 27 inch monitors with thin bezels and save hundreds of dollars! Two separate monitors would also allow you to adjust their viewing angles for a more comfortable experience. Summary: Overall, the Dell U4919DW display is a really nice monitor for people who can’t live with an unbroken view and who can afford it. It lacks HDR, which is a travesty at this price range and it also doesn’t have enough curvature to make for comfortable long-term usage. It does have plenty of useful ports and features, as well as a screen that is a sight to behold.

There is a crystal-clear picture with consistent color from corner to corner. The colossal screen allows me to work with numerous windows and large format documents comfortably. I find it wonderfully refreshing to work with PowerShell in a large window or visually scan server log files using this monitor. I can also make RDC windows large, so I no longer have the need to endlessly scroll up/down or left/right when navigating the remote machines desktop. There is no sacrifice of entertainment value for productivity. Streaming and gaming are handled flawlessly with no screen artifacts or visual tearing. Using the display-port connection I am getting a native resolution of 5120x1440. After spending 8-12 hours a day working, my eyes do not feel strained or tired. The large format of the monitor and the ability to have numerous windows spread left to right in a natural reading pattern means I do not have to squint as I would with a smaller monitor. Whether I am working, streaming, or gaming, the U4919DW provides a consistent high-quality picture that simply unmatched. This single monitor replaced three smaller monitors I had on my desk saving on energy use and long-term cost. I do not have a single dislike or complaint about this monitor. The DELL U4919DW is simple the best monitor I have ever used hands down.

Will not wake as advertised, displays well for awhile and then goes dark for a few seconds and comes back. At other times 1/2 of screen goes black and the other half goes noise gray. This occurs several times in an hour. Unable to turn off the monitor while while computer running and turning monitor back on the monitor will not wake no matter what I try to wake it.

In hindsight, I wish I would’ve purchased two 34 ultra wide curved instead of this 49. The weak curve makes the outside 2-3 inches on each end kind of pointless. Sadly, I kind of have buyers remorse with this model. Which saddens me, because I’ve really enjoyed all my previous Dell monitors. I just find that this one lacks a bit.

The curvature of the monitor, to me is at an appropriate angle where it doesn’t feel like you’re having a turn your head so much to view from one side to the other. I had no problems installing the additional display software which provides all sorts of configurations for this monitor. I went from having a two monitor set up to this 49” monitor which allowed me to break the screen into 3 equal sections. I didn’t run into any issues with applications remembering which screen they were on as I switched between my work at home set up. This monitor provides plenty ports from HDMI, Display and so many USBs. I do wish the next design includes more than one USB-C. Overall this monitor exceeds expectations. The color palette is on point! No complaints on the resolutions.

If you want to dynamically switch between full screen and half screen on a Windows machine you need to drive the monitor off USB C, and it will then auto resize from 5120x1440 to 2560x1440p. If you use a non-USB C input when you go to PBP, you'll get a scaled version of your screen instead of resizing. I use this all the time to flip from full screen to split screen to bring another machine (or gaming console) into my workspace. Dell Display Manager has a command line interface so you create batch files to switch between modes instead of fiddling with the controls or opening DDM. My only complaint was that Dell vastly underestimated the shipping time. I was quoted an Aug 31 delivery date with expedited delivery. It shipped on that day but did not arrive until 9/15 because of the shipping method they use for packages of this size. The Dell website consistently underestimated the actual arrival time.

The image quality for a monitor of this size is great and really appreciate all the different input ports included. Setup was extremely easy as it fit right onto my existing desk mount. The only reason I am giving this product 4 stars instead of 5, is because it does not have integrated speakers/audio output - which is something I would have expected for a monitor this advanced (not to mention the price). As it stands right now, Dell does not offer a sound bar compatible with this model (meaning one that can be attached directly to it) so I plan to remedy that with a generic, higher quality, sound bar. Bottom line, as long as the lack of audio output is not a deal breaker, I highly recommend this monitor.

I don't have to jump back and forth between screens any longer. Everything is on one large page with no shifting documents, email, pictures, etc. around any longer. Alt+Tab is nearly useless. That's the easy stuff, here's the fun stuff: The picture is vivid and crystal clear. If I take a break and watch a video or if I'm training, the people in the video look like they are there with you. You can see the pores of their skin. Dell provides drivers so you can customize the colors, the views, darkness, brightness and contrast. On top of it being perfect technically, and space wise Dell also has special offers going on where if you finance it you can get it for 12 months 0% interest (depending on your credit). I've been in the IT field for 30 years, so I research products thoroughly before I make a decisions. This is the best monitor that I've ever had by far!!!

It does need a sturdy arm to hold the weight of this beauty. This monitor is the type of thing that once you purchase, you will never go back. It has more capability then I realized with all the different connections and built in KVM ( with special USB cables ). My work requires many windows stretched wide. Rated 5 out of 5 by from No video through the USB-C port I purchased this because it offered a single USB-C connection to the XPS-15 computer that I also purchased and because it would provide a plethora of additional USB ports for other devices (ports that are severely lacking in the XPS-15). To date, after working with Tech Support for two weeks, the monitor refuses to display any video when connected via the USB-C port. They have upgraded the response to have a technician come out to look at the problem, however, they tell me that he/she will not be here for at least a month.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My Work Life Just Got a Lot Better Like many workers today, I spend 50 hours a week in front of a monitor, and half of that time is on meetings. This monitor quickly improved my daily experience as a tool designed for people who work like me. Very easy to unpack, set-up, and get started (I watched a youtube video before unpacking). The Dell Display Manager app took a minute to load and get started. The monitor has given me the ability to seamlessly move between apps and projects with minimal disruption. The display quality is excellent -- especially for video. Its easy to change the snap-to grid, resize, and move apps to where I need them on the screen. Compared to single or double displays, this is a far better experience.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great monitor for business Received the monitor in great condition from the factory (strapped to a pallet to avoid damage during overseas shipping). Well packaged and installation instructions were pretty simple. I didn't end up using the factory stand, as I opted for a wall mount to regain valuable desk space. Set up was easy, and the available online manual helped out in that department. I've been using the monitor for about three weeks thus far and really love it. The resolution allows for crisp viewing of spreadsheets and such. Coming from multiple smaller monitors, I love the lack of overlapping bezels and ability to utilize the entire space - and there's a lot of real estate in this monitor. I highly recommend this unit for its intended purpose - business/productivity. It's not a gaming monitor and I'm not using it for that. 60Hz is just fine for my needs. I like the added protection of Dell's pixel policy, although that hasn't been an issue to date.

The negatives are that cannot be connected via a standard doc, but must be connected directly to the computer. No manual included. Color adjustment is clumsy. Cannot readily access a sticker with important information. Same for USB ports.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 2 Monitors in 1 for the price of 4 There really is not much difference between running this compared to running just two Dell 27" monitors on your desk which is what I went from running. You pay a big premium to just have one monitor stand, one that does not swivel and really should for such a large monitor. The stand also needs to adjust to a higher height, looking straight ahead I am looking a good 4" above the monitor so am constantly looking down at this monitor if maintaining a proper seating position. The biggest issues I am having with this thing is finding the right settings on my MacBook Pro for the monitor always to work but this seems to be more a Mac issue because when plugged into my PC it is a none issue, perhaps some sort of drivers specific to a Mac are needed like how was needed for the PC. The USB ports would be nice if the monitor had a bigger power source to it because plug in too many things and get power errors from operating system, also be nice if the plugs were easier to find since not too easy to tip over a giant monitor to look under it to find the plugs and that goes for the various display plugs too. Overall unless you like spending more than you should or like me and had a few credits to use up then do not get this over just two monitors.

It takes some getting used to and can be cumbersome when you are trying to read something on the extreme end of either side. No big deal though. My only complaint is it does NOT have a camera, so I had to invest in a Logitech camera for video conferencing and such.

With the slight curve in the monitor its working great to see left to right and switch between tasks... Only thing that would make this better would be maybe one more stacked...lol

It covers an area of two wide screen monitors, but instead of a blank space in the middle, I can put a program there and look directly at the screen, with other programs off to one side or the other. I highly recommend.

I would however suggest a different shipping carrier, as ATI Worldwide was very slow and difficult at times to communicate with.

It's very easy to configure the panels, or windows, in whatever number and shape works best. Each panel can hold one document, or several documents of the same kind (pdf, Word, etc.). That means I have easy access to at least five, and sometimes up to 15 or more, so that when I'm working on a project I don't have to go hunting for each separate document I need, figure out where they're minimized, etc. And if I need to read a document on one of the side panels, it's easy to expand it over two panels until I'm done with it, at which time I can quickly "snap" it back into place. The Dell Display Manager is a great tool for customizing my configurations and is easily changeable.

The picture is sharp, the screen real estate is fantastic and the built in kvm switch works great. My only complaint is that it would be nice to have an audio jack to share speakers across both devices. I solved this by purchasing a USB audio adapter and it works like a champ.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outrageously Big First, its outrageously large. You don't realize what you're in for until you have to unbox it, and it takes two people. Overall, its pretty good. Wish it had a little more curve to the display, as that would help with the inevitable fade toward the left and right sides. Bringing the monitor closer to you helps in this regard. It is nice being able to stack windows all over the place without any overlap. Only other thing I'd like to see changed would be more vertical resolution. My previous monitor was 1600 pixels vertical, which I miss, as this one is 1440. Still, with all the extra space, this new monitor works good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Almost perfect . . . but not quite I purchased this to replace my last curved screen, which I broke. A significant part of why I purchased this particular one was the built-in KVM, removing the KVM off my desk really reduces a lot of wiring and clutter. Pros: It is huge. At least in width. You can open an Excel document a mile wide. A couple of inches taller at this width would make a giant difference. But it does exactly what I wanted it to do. The quality/clarity/etc is really great. I don't play games, so can't comment on that. The connections are varied and straightforward. Obviously if you want to plug 4 computers into it, you'll need a variety of cables. Cons: The mount on the back is recessed a lot. If you have a plate that mounts to it and then snaps into an arm . . . you'll have to snap it in first and then carefully try to balance the monitor against the arm while you put the screws into the back. Not a huge issue, but a slight annoyance (that only happens once). The KVM doesn't really work perfectly. It is close. You can't use it with 4 computers (even though you can plug 4 in), as it only has 2 USB output ports plus the USB3 that can carry both the video and keyboard/mouse. It doesn't keep the ports alive when you switch, so it takes a few seconds for the computer to re-acquire the things plugged into USB . . . and it doesn't charge the USB3 port when you switch to another computer. To switch computers with the keyboard you have to be fully logged into the computer. You can use the button on the bottom of the screen, but it is tiny and not labeled from the front. Both are slightly time-consuming to do. Not a deal-breaker, but a small annoyance. The cables it comes with are great . . . and WAY too short. This is a huge monitor. It is either going to be used with a wide stand or with an arm. If you want to run any of the cables to a computer, the computer would pretty much have to be sitting under the monitor stand. I had to slide my laptop under the middle of it just to run the cable to it, and couldn't move the monitor at all (until I got a new cable). Running a cable to my desktop was out of the question unless I had pushed my monitor really close to me and put the desktop behind the monitor. It only comes with one of the hard-to-get USB out cables, which is also too short. To sum up, it has a few small annoyances that can be worked around. With a few tweaks this could be the perfect monitor . . . but as it is I'm very happy with it overall.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent monitor - for the right purposes The U4919DW is an amazing monitor. It's very, very (very!) wide. The picture quality is outstanding; I saw no defects, no stuck pixels, no moire/shimmer from anti-glare coating. The lighting is uniform and bright. For the right purpose, this is a truly excellent monitor. However: I returned mine within a day (and Dell was very good about quickly issuing a refund). I was furnishing a new office and thought I could use this instead of my previous U3440+2XU2518 (so three monitors total), but it didn't work. Why not? This monitor is so wide that to sit in front of it and use it as a productivity monitor for spreadsheets, code, and so on didn't work for me. I was not able to just twist my head a little or even use peripheral vision, because the monitor's curvature isn't quite sufficient for that - for me (YMMV). I found myself having to lean over left or right to see text on the left or right sides, whereas with my previous setup of three separate monitors, I am able to angle the two outside monitors in more so that glance/peripheral vision works perfectly. This is nothing at all against the U4919, which is splendid; it didn't work for me, for my purpose. If I had to deck out a conference room or ops center display, or have an analysis display anywhere which people would look at from a greater distance than sitting in front of it and typing, I'd make this monitor my first choice. The cables and accessories are excellent. Good thick cables, a very heavy stand, and very solid, well thought-out packaging that was easy to put back together. Good for Dell for a very well-designed all-round package and for making a monitor as extreme as this, and I will continue to be a Dell monitor customer.

Our staff love these monitors as they can multitask. We fully recommend this monitor for an office environment.

Other manufactures have invested more in better software experiences along with ancillary hardware, (physical switches, remotes) to make it easier for PBP type capability.

The monitor is not curved enough. I'm finding myself adding bogus apps on the left of the monitor to avoid neck pain. Also, I tried to return it and they said someone would call me to arrange pick up. It's been 3 weeks, still waiting for that call.

The only issue is that the radius is a little too large. At 3800mm, you can constantly stretching your neck to see the corners. I would have preferred around 2000-1500mm.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Slow shipping, poor quality control. First, it took about three weeks between ordering and arrival, after I had to call the air freight company several times to get updates. Then, after reorganizing my space and setting up the monitor, I discovered a quarter-sized black spot in the bottom middle of the display that would not go away with firmware updates or resets. There was a sheet included with the monitor that seemed to be a factory color test/calibration result, but I guess it must be automated such that a big black spot gets missed. The bright side was that the return was picked up by FedEx the next day. I went to a local store and bought another brand of 49" curved monitor.

My preferred layout is 3 equal sized tiles which doesn't work with my old layout. The picture is crisp and was plug and play. The Dell Display Manager makes it easier to align. There is a bit of overlap but not anything worth docking a star.

Any larger and it would be difficult to view left and right edges. The only that would be nice is usbc ports on the bottom and and dedicated HDMI switch button.

I recently upgraded to the Dell UltraSharp 49" Curved Monitor U4919DW from three older 24" monitors, and it has completely transformed my workspace. The horizontal space is perfect for my multitasking needs, and it's a huge relief to have everything consolidated into one monitor. I did encounter some issues with setup, as I initially experienced flickering when using the supplied DP cable as well as with another 16K DP cable I had on hand. However, once I invested in the high-quality Silkland DisplayPort 2.1 Cable, the issue was resolved, and the monitor worked perfectly. This sensitivity with DP cables is something to keep in mind, but once you have a reliable one, the monitor works like a dream. I will say the monitor work well with the supplied HDMI cable and no had issues. Despite the age of the monitors technology (it’s really a 2019 technology), I am extremely pleased with the performance of this monitor. It does everything I need it to do and more, and it has been a game-changer for my productivity. The continuous screen is slick, and it has definitely helped clean up my desk area. Plus, with USB ports located in convenient locations, I never have to fumble around to plug something in. If I had one wish, it would be for a 2023 version of this monitor with faster refresh, but until then, I am happy to continue using the Dell UltraSharp 49" Curved Monitor U4919DW. Setting it up alone can be a bit of a challenge, but following the included directions will get you through it. It's not too heavy, but it can be a little ungainly to hold. I'm happy to add that while the refresh rate of the U4919DW is only 60hz, it works perfectly for my more static use applications. I don't play games, but from what I understand, while it would be suitable for gaming, there are better choices out there with higher refresh rates that provide even smoother gameplay. However, for my work and everyday use, the refresh rate is more than sufficient. Positives: • Provides a large horizontal space perfect for multitasking. • Consolidates multiple monitors into one, saving desk space. • High-quality continuous screen with no bezel interruption. • Good selection of ports, including conveniently located USB ports. • Sleek and practical design with a "wow" factor. • Suitable for non-gaming uses with a refresh rate of 60htz. • Good resolution at 5120 x 1440 @ 60 htz. Negatives: • Can be awkward to set up alone. • DP cable sensitivity may cause flickering issues with some cables. • Refresh rate of 60hz may not be sufficient for high end gamers looking for a super smooth experience. • The technology is a few years old and there isn't a 2023 version available yet. The box is engineered to make unpacking the accessories simple and installing the stand super easy without removing the monitor which is housed in the box safely. If you know they designed the box great, the monitor has to be superb an it is.

If you use the 'Dell Display Manager' tool (included), you can configure a setting customized to how you want multiple windows displayed on the monitor. Really great feature for such a wide monitor. I configured my monitor display with two smaller windows on either side of my main work area directly in front of me. It is a dream application for me...definitely efficient in using monitor real estate and getting my workflow synchronized.

It takes some getting used to and can be cumbersome when you are trying to read something on the extreme end of either side. No big deal though. My only complaint is it does NOT have a camera, so I had to invest in a Logitech camera for video conferencing and such.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exactly what I expected I was a little nervous to purchase a 49 inch monitor because of some reviews saying it’s too big and causing neck pain looking from side to side all day. Prior to purchasing this I used 3 27 inch monitors so I was not sure why a 49 inch would be any different. I am so glad I went with this monitor. It is worth every penny. I work in finance and look at spreadsheets all day. This monitor is perfect to have three workbooks open side by side. Another negative review I saw was related to screen sharing and the other user not being able to see due to the resolution. This is true if you share your whole screen but if you share a single window you won’t run into this problem. I love this monitor and will never go back to anything smaller.

It is elegant yet rugged and has a wide range of display settings that allow it to be bright and clear in a well-lit room as well as subdued yet maintaining contrast when operating in a darkened space is necessary. The internal switch and monitor sharing is fantastic for running a work laptop and personal computer all on the same workspace with no external switches and a minimum of cables. Excellent monitor!

Had my first monitor for over a year and decided to add a 2nd monitor. Works great with a Chief KTP230B vertical monitor stand and with an adjustable desk. I would recommend downloading QuickShade for Mac users on the App Store. It allows for quick display brightness adjustment. Having two of these displays stacked is really nice and helps with productivity. I also have a Dell Ultrasharp 32 4k USB-C that is used as an additional monitor that I currently have hooked up to an iPad. I'm happy with my Dell setup.

However, I'm used to the Odyssey G9 Neo and I've noticed that there is less curve to it which makes it a bit different to look at. Still early days, maybe I'll get used to it. I'm on OSX and the Odyssey G9 Neo flicker issue persists, so I'm trying out the Dell 49" and so far, no flicker, so I'm happy.

The monitor works very well with Windows 11 as that OS has built in screen options to cleaning and quickly divide up the huge screen for multiple apps/programs. The monitor was very well packaged and the set up was simple - just take your time, follow the easy directions - for some folks, a two person carry is highly recommended. Price is a bit steep, so not for everyone's budget. I am very happy with this product.

This monitor is great for her grading, since she can have three documents/references in easy view while grading. This is a great help. Have not installed the Dell software yet. The IPS display is excellent for text clarity, and color uniformity across 100% of the screen. Customer service is excellent. I found an issue with the panel and they immediately shipped me a replacement so I was able to keep using the original until it arrived. Return shipping and pickup was handled by customer service very well. I can fully recommend Dell and this monitor.
