I needed an all in one which could direct print dad's and fax just like my Artisan 835 did. The 8600 can print DVD's but can not fax. All in ones that have fax capability can not print DVD's. Had to switch brands to a Canon.

I was impressed with Epson's recycling service. All I had to do was print a shipping label, pack the 620 up and send it back to them. Nice.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Horrible Experience I purchased this printer on 11.29.2021 directly from Epson's website. It was a Christmas gift for a family member, so naturally it was not given to the recipient until December 25th. Upon opening the printer on 1.5.2022, the product kept displaying an error message so I called the support line. After restarting the system and waiting on hold, it was determined that I had a defective unit. Epson's representative offered to send me a replacement printer, which will be a refurbished unit. Here is where I feel Epson fell short--this unit was purchased during the holiday season, and many retailers have modified return policies because gifts are typically bought in advance. Secondly, there were refurbished units available at the time I made my purchase, and I chose to pay more to get a new one. This was frustrating and disappointing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Photo Printer, not great for all round printing We had an WF-3620 that we were very happy with, but it stopped printing and could not be fixed. An Epson Representative recommended the XP-8600 as a replacement even though we discussed we use for normal printing and scanning. We never discussed printing photos. This appears to be a great printer for photos, but not as good for normal printing. I would recommend the WF series, not the XP series. We are strongly considering buying another WF series.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The third time is the charm. The first two printers had mechanical problems and had to be returned. But the third one I finally received today works beautifully. The pictures print a little dark, but can be edited on my phone before I print them. We gave this printer to my daughter last year she and she loves it. When my twelve-year-old Picture Mate finally quit working, I decided to buy another Epson. Hopefully this one lasts as long as my previous one.

The CD print feature was a little confusing, even on You-Tube, but once I figured it out, the software was easy to use and the print quality looked really professional.

I had trouble hooking it up, and it won't stay connected to my wireless. I am also disappointed that it does not use ink commonly carried in office supply stores, so I will have to order on line, which I detest. However, it prints very nicely.

I have owned many Epson printers during these last 20-25 years and the problem is they dry up and then you have to trash the printer. The other problem is the price of Epson ink, out of this fricking world! You cannot ever, ever use another product with these printers unless you are wanting to buy another printer! Clean up your act Epson or my next printer will not be an Epson!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect In Just About Every Way! I work from home, homeschool my 3 kids, and do a lot of crafting. This printer is perfect for everything I need it for. Set up was easy and I love the color screen on the front helping me step by step. I'm able to print out weekly sales reports for my work in a breeze because it's not only quick but it's also quiet and prints sales reports and tax papers with a professional look. Since my kids are homeschooled I am constantly printing out work for them, my old printer just couldn't keep up. I print around 20+ pages of school work a day and it caused my old printer to lag, making it take so much longer than I wanted. But with this printer it's almost like I'm the one that has to keep up because once I'm done pushing that "Print" button and start to push print on another.. the first one is already done! After all work is done (mine and the kids) I like to work on some of my hobbies which include paper crafting, card making, and more. Pictures that I print out for family look so professional. The colors are vibrant, there's no lines, and it's much quicker than our last printer. Plus I LOVE being able to print out pictures from home! I really have nothing negative to say about this thing. So I was elated that I could set this up without the help of my family. I set this up the ink cartridges were easy to install. Putting the paper it was not tricky but you do need to pay attention to loading the cartridges putting the correct paper in the correct bin. The printing of my photos OMG it is amazing! The colors are so sharped and they look great! The different sizes of photos that I created are awesome. It is also remote you download the app onto your phone and voila! you are printing from your phone. It is also included for wi-fi you can print anywhere as long as you are set up to wifi. This printer again is awesome. The printer itself was easy to set up and easy to use even for people like me who are not very tech savvy. It has a lot of great features one being the voice activation that I love. I also love that you can print from any smart device and has virtual assistant on it as well. This printer also has multiply uses and prints and scans really well. The photo pictures are printed so clear and I would much rather print them off the Epson then at the store. They look so much better. It also makes it easier to print cards, stationary, etc. It is also a copier as well. This printer makes life easier when it comes to printing, scanning, and coping and I highly recommend it. It was very easy to set up and the instructions were very easy to follow. The link that was included for videos was great. I think the photo prints are just as good if not better then what I'm getting from Walgreens photo center. We print scram items daily for personal, work and school. The Epson printer has made our tasks easier then they ever were. With the kids being home for school due to the pandemic, this has been a plus to the unfortunate experience. Review of the Epson Expression Photo XP-8600 Printer Out of the Box and setup: The printer is packaged well, and everything was clearly labeled. The quick start instructions are very easy to follow, and there are no extra parts to put together or install. I was very impressed with how easy it was to setup. Installation: This was a moment of truth for me. I've had printers in the past that were very difficult to install and get print ready. This was not the case at all. The touch screen on the printer is a good size to be able to navigate the menus and setup the WiFi printing. The menus were easy to read, along with the quick start guide. The whole installation process took me about 10 minutes, a majority of that being software updates that would be normal for any printer. VERY happy with the installation process. After the updates, I could print right away! Print Quality: I'm quite happy with the print quality of the printer sofar. text pages are printed quickly, and I haven't notice any smudging or bleeding of ink. I really enjoy the dual trays to hold letter sized paper as well as photo paper sizes. Having to use a top feed tray with past printers would require me to confirm the paper size, and would need me to be physically at the printer to navigate on screen prompts. I'm happy that I can print and not be standing right next to the printer in order for printing multiple items. Overall I'm very happy with this printer. I haven't been able to see how the ink usage goes, but i'm hopeful the cartridge usage will be reasonable. I'd definitely recommend this printer! Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy setup and lots of functions. I love this printer it has so many opinions to make your printer fun and creative. When you first plug in the printer it will ask you to install the ink cartridges. The cartridges have green caps on them you have to remove before you install them. There are 6 ink cartridges. After you put them in it takes 10 minutes for them to install. After that is done it will ask if you want to do an alignment, I did. Once thats done your ready to print. It has different print functions on the touchscreen. You can pick from many sizes. It even has installed backgrounds you can pick from. It had three trays in the front. One is for printer paper and photo paper. The other is for smaller things like envelopes and other paper types. It also prints labels for cd's. It was very easy to connect to my phone with the Epson app. It prints very good and the color are great. It doesn't use a lot of ink either witch I love. I did have one paper jam but the back comes off and it's very easy to remove the paper. All the functions worked great!! Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pretty Good Compact Printer with Neat Features. My experience with the Epson Expression Photo XP-8600 Printer has been mixed. While the printer is very nice looking and it is easy to use, I found that the set-up process was very time consuming, for me at least. Setting up the printer took around an hour at minimum. Installing the 6 ink cartridges was fairly easy. I found that calibrating the Printer Head alignment and making those adjustments was a bit overly complicated due to it being very difficult to see when needing to pick the best results on the test pages. Regardless of the above issue, the Epson Expression Photo XP-8600 Printer does to an excellent job at printing. I love that I am able to print photos or other items such as paper documents wirelessly over Wi-Fi from my laptop or even my Smartphone! No more having to hook up a USB Cable from my Printer to my Computer! Using a USB Cable is an option, but it may not always be convenient if your computer set up isn't stationary. The Epson Expression Photo XP-8600 Printer allows you to print photos directly from a Memory Card which I believe is a great feature since you can start printing photoswithout having to upload themto your computer first if they do not need to be edited. The printer is also voice activated. The printer also features the ability to print onto CDs and DVDs. A perfect addition for saving photos or video memories, making keepsake party favors or for any photography business. I love the adjustable 4.3 inch touchscreen control panel. It is easy to use. There is no issues being able to see the on-screen options because you can tilt the control panel to better suit your view. I like that I could view step-by-step instructions via the colored touchscreen control panel when installing the ink cartridges and performing other maintenance tasks. I do wish that the printer offered the ability to be used as a Fax, for those times when you may unexpectedly need to send a fax, but this printer does have a lot of nice features even if having a fax isn't a requirement for you. I do have to wonder how much this printer will cost over time when needing to replace the 6 ink cartridges.. It could possibly get very expensive.. I feel like this could be one of the major Cons regarding this printer. Another small Con is that the power cord seems to get knocked loose from the printer and fall out easily even though I try to make sure that is is plugged in all the way. Overall, I think the Epson Expression Photo XP-8600 Printer is a very nice, compact printer if you do not have a lot of space on your desk. This printer will also do plain paper, envelopes and can do printable CD/DVD's and a awesome bonus you can use this printer with Google assistant or Alexa. There is touch screen so you do not have to use a PC to print your photos, another plus that I find useful it has 2 sided printing for documents, a must for my home office. I loved my photos from my old Epson, but these are even better. I make photo greeting cards and everyone is noticing that the photos are just a little brighter and a little sharper with the XP-8600.

It has a small digital display and that's how you get it going, and it's wireless, you just listen to the voice and it tells you how to set it up. It only took me about 8 minutes to set mine up. It prints 4 by 6 inch photos in less than 10 seconds, you can also put pictures on cd's and dvd's, You can scan things and it saves it to the cloud. It comes with 6, colors and the pictures are the best I've ever seen come from a printer you can also print from your phone. And, one of my favorite things that it can do is hands free, voice activated printing. It can also print on both sides of the paper and it has built in usb and memory card slots, but you have to buy a usb cable, it's not included in the package, I love this printer and it's the perfect size! The installing process may take a while when you connect it to a laptop that dont have CD desk (my laptop dont have it so I need to download the epson app). To connect the product in wifi is very fast and the whole installing will be quick and easy just reading the instruction. What I like about this printer is really fast in printing in any kind of documents you want to print. I tried to compare my printer now and my old one it has a big different especially in the quality of photo printing. This printer has more quality of photo. I also like that it has a soft touchscreen because my old one is just the basic one. This also has strong mobile connectivity which is really nice to have. I also like the idea that I can use usb drive or SD memory card if ever i want quick and easy of printing. The cons of having this product may cost of using the ink because it has 6 different colors so this may be the issue but if you better quality photos when printer this is worth buying for. The features on this thing are incredible and so convenient. You can connect it to wifi and any device you have connected on the same network, you can print. Virtually anything, even photos. It prints photos very nicely and clearly. It prints fast also so you aren’t having to wait forever for them. The photos look very professional. I am amazed and happy about receiving my photo printer and can’t wait to be able to print more photos in the near future. This thing was a breeze to set up it took no time at all. I love the step by step videos it shows on the front screen. It makes everything a lot easier. First, it comes with everything you need for completely setting up and ready to print with in a few minutes, The instructions are simple and easy to follow. The control panel guides you through the easy setup. You can connect this printer through blue tooth, Wi-Fi or USB cable, to your cell phone, I-Pad, tablet/reader or computer. I love how this printer has two different paper tray sizes you can keep loaded at all times. Making this printer always ready to print. My previous printers I had to always manually load photo paper and adjust for the different size of the papers. Now I just load the larger size(8x10) photo paper, because my (4x6) size is always loaded in the second tray, ready to print. I also love the auto turn off setting, that after a certain time the unit turns it's self off. Another energy saver. You can also either make adjustments using your device (computer, I-Pad, cell phone or tablet), or you can just go to the setting using the control panel right on the printer. This is so convenient. for checking ink level, paper type, paper size. and so much more. The scanner is easy and simple to use and print from. The ink tanks are easy to locate and mistake proof to replace. All in all this printer offers a whole a lot whether you are a novice or a pro you will find this printer does an excellent job. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing and Versatile Printer. I have been searching for a printer that can be used for both personal and work from home business use. Sure, there are plenty of printers on the market to choose from that have all these fancy accessories and abilities, but I really was not looking for anything fancy or too high tech either. Well, I stumbled upon the Epson Expression Photo 8600. This printer. WOW! It is amazing. So out of the box it was remarkably simple to get out and put together, but it was also very well packed, and I felt that my printer did not suffer any damages during its journey to me. The cord, manual and CD are located within the Styrofoam packing so do not overlook them. The printer itself was securely closed with blue packing tape so as not to open and close and jostle around during shipment. It was simple to remove and did not leave any type of residue. Setup was simple, and was fairly plug and play, I did not personally need to use the setup CD but do appreciate that it is included. Now for the good stuff. Using the printer. As stated above, setup was simple, I would say from the time I opened the box to the first print was maybe a half hour, give or take five or ten minutes. The printer itself has a very sleek and compact design, it is an unbelievably beautiful and glossy black. The LCD informational screen is large and quite easy to read. The touchscreen on the LCD screen is very responsive and I have had no issues with my fat fingers accidentally clicking the wrong button. The photo trays are plenty big enough and provide enough space for a lot of paper, I do not know exactly how much because I did not count, but I did print a 73-page document without having to refill the tray. The colors are nice and vivid and do not run, lines are clear and concise. I have also printed a few photos and they are beautiful! They are the same quality as you would expect from an in-store printing service. The colors are bright and vivid, there are no blurry or colored lines in the photo, and the ink dries quickly and without issue.

The set up from opening the box to finish was easy I didn't even need instructions. I currently already had a wire for my old printer that worked just fine with this new printer. It's small and sleek looking a little heavier than I thought it would be that really isn't an issue. This Epson Expression photo XP- 8600 has so many features. It has auto 2 sided print ,multi paper input, mobile printing, memory card slot. It prints, scans and copies. It has cd/DVD print this thing has everything compared to my old printer. It does take 6 ink cartridges but it's not that bad cause it's not more costly than the average printer. The prints are so clear and bright my phone wouldn't do it justice. It works with Mac or windows so it can be connected to just about any device including your mobile devices which is great since I have so many different devices. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very nice compact photo printer The Epson XP-8600 is a small photo printer that can also scan and copy items. It does lack an automatic document feeder, but that is not a major drawback. The XP-8600 is a fairly compact unit for what it does. It is quiet with better speeds than my older printers (Canon and Kodak). Its size enables it to be located almost anywhere in your workroom/office. It has a 4.3-inch color touchscreen display for you to use to control its settings and features, which are very easy to use. The panel containing the display tilts upward for ease of use and visibility. The setup was quick and easy, although I did have a little issue with connecting wirelessly to my iMac. I had to connect with a USB cable first to get the wireless to connect. I didn't have to do this on my Windows 10 PCs. This printer uses 6-color inkjet technology. The colors came out fairly bright and clear for photos. Black is clear and sharp, too. I printed a couple of images from my Android phone easily and quickly. (There was no setup required for this at all. I just clicked on the print option on the photo and selected the Epson printer.) The prints looked like the photo, although printing on plain paper does not produce as good a photo image as photo paper does. (Prints on photo paper did look a bit pixellated in places. That could be due to using older HP photo paper, which is all I had at the time.) It does print borderless prints in various sizes (and prints on CD/DVDs). 8.5 X 11 documents can be scanned easily on the scanner on top, and scans can be sent to a variety of destinations. Rated 5 out of 5 by from High quality prints! This epson photo printer provides a high quality print on both regular and photo paper. The machine itself is easy to set up following the provided instructions. The on screen guide is a great assist to handle the correcting of any issues that may arise during the initial set up process. This printer has the capability to handle both 4x6 and 8 1/2 × 11 paper, with two separate trays. Connecting to a wireless network was extremely easy. The machine picked up our wifi signal as soon as it was set up, with no delays. I was easily able to download the app from the app store on my phone and had high quality photo prints within minutes. The photos print extremely quick and are clear, high quality images that look like they were professionally printed. The scanner feature creates very clear copies of original images and documents. The quality of photographs scanned and printed were no less than the quality of the prints I printed for the first time. I really like how the screen panel opens and tilts for easier viewing. Overall, this is the best photo Painter I have ever used. Epson created a wonderful product. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great printer in small package The Epson XP-8600 is simple to set up. Total time from unboxing to printing was under 10 minutes. It is small enough that it doesn't take up too much space on my desk. Most of my printing is pages that contain color photos on them for advertising. The photos are clear and I'm also able to print additional 4x6 photos to attach to my advertisements. For my business I also needed to make copies in black and white along with color copies. They were scanned in much faster than my old all in one and the quality is superior. Overall this is a great little printer that will serve you well. I am currently building a dollhouse and I needed flooring and wallpaper for it. I printed off some wood flooring on another printer and it looked very dull and did not show the woodgrain. When I received the XP-8600, I reprinted the same flooring on photo paper, it was amazing. It actually looked like real wood. I am looking forward to printing my wallpaper. One of the best things about this printer is that it has 5 color ink cartridges instead of just 3 like regular printers have. The difference those 2 ink cartridges make is the difference between night and day. I went through all my pictures I had printed on my old printer and reprinted them on the XP-8600 using premium photo paper and now they look like professional photo studio prints. I love it and will be using from here on out. Anybody want my old one?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for the home office The Epson Expression Photo XP-8600 Small-in-One Printer has been a fantastic addition to my home office setup. Upon opening the box, you have your printer, your power cord, manual and ink cartridges. It also includes an instructional disc with information on how to properly setup the printer. I have experience with many different printers, so I opted to try a plug-and-play. I had no issues figuring it out myself as it was a fairly self explanatory and simple process, which the handy digital display helps you through step-by-step. Having a touchscreen digital display also makes for a very quick, simple printing process. It has multiple paper trays for 4x6-8x10 sheets of paper, and also has front or rear loading. My favorite feature of all is the wifi connectivity. It took literally 30 seconds to get this printer connected to my wifi, and the connection is very strong even with my router being in another area of my home. I absolutely love that all I had to do was download Epson's app on my phone and now I can seamlessly & effortlessly print any photo from my device or from anywhere on the internet with just a few clicks. It prints quickly and quietly, and the photos are crisp and colorful. With six color cartridges, this printer can sure print some detailed, vibrant photos. The ink cartridges are also super simple to install and if you're running low, the printer will let you know. Epson really put forth an effort with this series that I can appreciate! Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for my Scrapbooking Expression Photo XP-8600 Small-in-One Printer works perfect for me, its a great size and gets everything done that i need it to. The quality of the photos it prints is excellent. It hold lots of paper, photo stock and even envelopes. You can also print labels, I am now so organized. The photos that i printed can be borderless and it prints a variety of sizes. I am an avid scrapbooker, i can't wait to get together with my friends and show them the photo quality. I have tried a ton of different printers this by far is the highest quality.
