The wife called Epson and they were helpful I was able to resend another with no problems. Easy install, high quality part and great customer service well worth coming back to for sure!

With my last one I replaced the first bulb with an actual Epson bulk and the second one with a third party bulb. I will never do that again. Buy the real thing

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stick with a replacement directly from Epson I made the mistake of purchasing a replacement bulb from Amazon. It was not made by Epson. It had major light leak and gave the screen a red hue in the corners. I ordered a bulb directly from Epson and it is bright, true to color, just like brand new.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's not the bulb....it's the projector...fail :( So, after owning and enjoying the projector for a hair over 3 years, the image quality started to go "off" (some weird staining in the picture and dull image) I figured a bit over 2000 hours of use was a good time to replace the bulb....so I did. Unfortunately, the weird staining is a projector issue (not the bulb)....it's failing already., and just barely out of the warranty period. Local repair shop said it was a far too costly repair to bother. (Apparently a common issue with the tech used by Epson - according to repair shop). Total bummer Epson.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bright Vibrant Color! The installation of this lamp was very easy. I didn't even have to move the projector. My previous lamp had begun to flicker at around 2,200 hours, and was not watchable at all in eco mode. What I did not realize was that over time the colors had faded. Upon turning the new lamp on for the first time, I was struck with that "Wow!" factor again. This lamp is excellent! I will definitely buy this again in the future, probably around 1,500 hours before the colors fade too much.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lamp prematurely flickers at about 2000 hours I was not happy about the fact that the lamps are rated for 6000 hours but I was only able to get 1400 hours and eco-mode and 500 in regular mode. The lamp was not burnt out but was flickering which made it annoying to watch. Replaced it with the new lamp again from the Epson store. Now it’s working fine again but I suspect it will start flickering again prematurely. When talking to the representative from Epson they pointed out that the warranty was only good for 90 days. Pretty hard to get that many hours on a projector in 90 days. Doing some research on the Internet it seems that this is a common problem. Nothing really wrong with the projector it’s more a lamp issue. Not sure if will be going with Epson Next time.

My only complaint has to do with the original bulb lasting only 174 hours. Not sure what happened there, but the new bulb is doing fine and the projector works. It shipped and arrived per web site estimate. Nice job Epson!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy installation & worked well for a short while It worked perfect for a few weeks and suddenly there was a bunch of lines being displayed by the projector and the lamp light came on. Now my projector will no longer turn on it just makes really loud noises and the lamp light flashes & scan light flashes. Only worked almost 1 month. No idea if it is a projector problem or lamp problem.

The lamp was well over its expected use life and was still operating at about 75% of it's rated specifications. I easily found the replacement lamp at Epson's website and I ordered it and had it my hands in about 4 business days with the free shipping option. I chose to order it from Epson as I have always had satisfactory performance from every Epson product I have ever owned. I also searched other web suppliers and found that, even though there were several, their prices were about the same as Epson's.

Bought this replacement after looking online at 3rd party bulbs, which were more expensive for some reason. I've never had good luck with 3rd party bulbs, so I bought direct from Epson. I'm so glad I did as the bulb fits great. Installation was a snap, and the projector is shining bright again.

The Epson EX9220 is a feature packed, professional level projector, which I hope to keep for as long as it provides trouble-free service. The brightness and clarity is amazing. Replacing the lamp appears to be simple, which is another bonus. Thank you Epson.

However the projector started giving lamp failure signal. So I ordered this replacement lamp. Need to see how long the replacement lamp will last.
