The large supply of ink lasts for 20,000 copies allowing it to replace our copier. The only issues so far have been the inability to do automatic 2 sided copies for 8.5 x 14 size sheets, and there have been some issues with sticking pages on copying large numbers of 2 sided copies 100 or more.

Rated 5 out of 5 byDards from LOVE the idea but .... Quality still substandardTrying to get the printer to smear less. Only get average quality printing when I select the "Quality" mode. In standard mode the printer often prints lines out of focus or smeared.Have tried cleaning print heads multiple times but it still prints blank spaces and spots in the "BK" block.Firmware is up to date as of this writing. Have not tried returning printer or exchanging printer yet.Really hope I can get this corrected, because I Would love this to be our workhorse printer for all our volume brochure printing.

Rated 5 out of 5 byS Harn from Problem with printer, but customer service good so farWe've had this printer for over 18 months now. Printed great to start -- fast, clear pages. After about 6 months we would get a blurred line about every 3 inches down each page. We could print on "high quality" but it was much slower. Eventually even high quality wouldn't eliminate the problem. We performed the various maintenance items requested many times (clean prints heads, etc.) to no avail. Tried just using it for our proofreading pages but eventually couldn't use it for that either. There are two reasons I'm still giving it four stars: 1) it is a high quality printer when it functions correctly; and 2) Epson has a two-year warranty and good customer service for high-end printers and a replacement printer is on the way after I called them. It took about 15 minutes on the phone to run the maintenance and alignment procedures again for them, then a few more minutes to confirm shipping/billing/serial #, etc. The replacement printer will arrive postage paid with a box to return the defective unit postage paid. Be advised you can send the printer back and wait for a replacement. The other option is for them to send a replacement immediately but they will ask for a credit card to charge half the price of the printer if you fail to return the damaged unit within 7 days of receiving the new one. If you are having the same issue with your unit and it is within the two-year warranty window you should call them. I sent them an email and received a response within 20 minutes with the number to call tech support. That number is (562) 276-4382 for US customers. Hope this helps.

Rated 5 out of 5 bySilicon Mechanic from WF-R4640 Warrenty NewReceived the replacement unit after the first printer received had the front access door pin broken.The replacement unit was received missing the installation instructions and the installation CD.Was able to down load a version of the installation software. Had to download twice, as the web site redirected my first request to the WF-4640 driver set and not the WF-R4640 driver set. This was discovered by manually installing the printer, and printing. A warning message popped up indicating the driver did not match the printer product. The driver kits are over a quarter of a gigabyte each. The initialization successfully completed.Now have two new Epson printers. Have not run a job through the machine, but with the ink bags, the printer should be set for a couple of weeks.

I've probably printed over 25000 pages by now and still haven't had to replace any tanks. The only downside is, the alignment seems to be slightly off when printing on high speed plain paper; even after running alignment diagnostics. With that minor gripe, I think it's such a fantastic value.

Just the thought of not having to think about ink for 2 years relieves a lot of stress; I can just print without thinking about it!!It's a HUGE robust machine, but even that contributes to my feeling of satisfaction. Just don't plan on taking it upstairs by yourself. The thing was wheeled up to my front door by the deliver driver and when I saw it, I thought it was a mistake - they must have sent me the wrong one, probably for a large office - but no, it was really the right one.Buy it without any reservation and enjoy the next two worry free years!!

The packaging that the printer came in was unbelievably secure making sure the printer was in exceptional condition for set-up. The set-up did not take long at all, and now the whole office is up and running on it. The quality in using it has been very good, from FAX, B&W, color, Scanning, we have been very impressed! I definitely recommend it, and love having the Epson Workforce Pro in our office!!!
