Rated 5 out of 5 byJim Lewis from Great Scanner but Should Work Better with PaperPort 14Scanner is fantastic and speedy. The Epson Scan software works fine under Windows 10 Pro. But with PaperPort 14.5 with the patch applied, after an initial scan, I typically get a "Cannot Communicate with Scanner." Using the Nuance Scan Connect Tool and adding the DS-860 twain_32 folder to the PATH environmental variable may have fixed me up for TWAIN but I'm still trying to figure out what I need to do to make ISIS work without a hitch with PaperPort 14.5. Wish Epson made it work "more better" with PaperPort.

This necessitates scanning numerous client documents that come in all sizes and conditions. Over the years I have owned about 8 different scanners total. By far the Epson DS860 is the most best one that I have ever purchased. It is fast, renders an excellent image of the original and will allow combining different sizes into a single scanning job. I like it so well I bought a 2nd unit to use at my alternate location.

Although it is great as a printer, it was taking a long time with a stack of 15+ documents to scan. The DS-860 gets it done extremely fast with no problems. Plus, I love the ability to scan a letter and business card simultaneously! Great Product.

Very fast - very accurate and looks great. Absolutely love this DS-860 scanner and software. Works with Laserfiche, Evernote and the rest of my scanning needs. Our new company standard!

The Epson Workforce DS-860 provides the speed and accuracy that I need to facilitate this change in a timely manner. An average scan of 60 pages (300 dpi, duplex) takes one minute; no skipped pages, no jams. And it interfaces nicely with the proprietary software we are using for this project. I am very happy with this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 byJosh4517 from 2 scanners failed within 18 monthsPurchased original scanner in October of 2015. It failed, failure to feed, August of 2016. Product was replaced under the 1 year warranty. Replacement scanner lasted until April of 2017 when it failed for the same reason with less than 7,900 scans. Called Epson to see if there was anything they could do since my replacement was only 6 months old. Epson would make no exception to their policy that states 1 year from original purchase which I am disappointed by but do understand. However, I was told by a representative at their corporate office that the policy is very clear, Epson owes me nothing, and I should've bought an extended warranty. After speaking with her I have decided to no longer use Epson products. To summarize 1st scanner lasted 10 months, 2nd scanner lasted 8 months and the customer support is lacking and unprofessional.
