I replaced it with an 11C [ CRC 43500 ] and got a much improved and versatile shredder. Fellowes will always be my choice for shredders; as I believe they are the market's benchmark for quality and value.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice shredder I purchased the shredder January 2018 & only use it once a week & it worked fine until this morning. I went to switch the Control Button & it broke. I had to open it up & move the button by hand. The control button is made of flimsy plastic which means I can't reverse it. That button should have been made with a stronger material. I will be calling Fellows company today.

My last shredder (Fellowes) finally quit on me (operating switch would not work any more) however, I had this shredder for over 7 years without any problems. When I decided to replace my shredder there was not any doubt that it would be another Fellowes. GREAT MACHINE.

It "jammed" once, because I was force feeding some heavy loads i.e. Full envelopes, fat documents e.t.c. I quickly unplugged and unjammed the teeth. It works perfect! As long as you do not put large OBVIOUS material, you'll be fine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Replacement for 20+ oldie My 20 year old plus Fellowes PS25 with 5 sheet capacity finally died. Got such good service out of the last one thought I'd try another with a little more capacity (11C) . So far so good. I miss the electric eye sensor instead of a manual trip to start, the power supply is not on the cord but in the head unit making it top heavy, and it has a different vibration when it runs like something is out of balance. That may just be the cross cut design. I assume the first two changes are the safety wieners. Other than my picky observations, it works well, hasn't overheated, and capacity is an upgrade. Noise level is different than old but acceptable. Time will tell if this one will go 20 plus years but one can dream.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from New Shredder Had alot of old taxes, checks etc. to shred. Worked nicely...I used a plastic bag in it which was more helpful i thought. It said it would shred 11 pages but it jammed on me when I put in several at a time and i had to "dig" it out piece by piece. I bought mainly for its being heavy duty and it will shred credit cards with no problem.I will only put 2-3 pages in at once, besides that I'm happy

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I only buy Fellowes I've used 3 Fellowes W11C shredders for over 10 years...Due to their durability and performance, I only considered a Fellowes replacement. The 11C that I purchased is very quiet...performs very well. I'm very pleased with the improved style and appearance. While the cross-cut pieces are a little longer than the W11C, the cut is still significantly more than sufficient. Since I've had the new equipment for only 2 weeks I can't really judge it's durability but I have confidence it will be fine because it is a Fellowes.

Worked reliably and so well that I ordered another W11C when the original service life eventually came to an end. Recommend the W11C for any user not needing to shred all day long or shred something other than paper, staples and credit cards. The W11C is perfect for a home office or a small retail shop.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My life was in shreds I got this shredder because I have tremendous pharmaceutical and medical records coming in through the mail. Trying to protect my privacy became overwhelming. With the shredder, positioned very close to my mail input/output, everything gets dropped in the shredder. I compost was is useful and dispose of the rest without worry and without having to drive many miles to a super shredder location. This has been the answer to problem that was shredding my sanity. I love the ease of putting multiple pages through the shredder, the freedom to not worry about staples and the lack of multiple mountains of documents. This is not my first shredder, however; it has proven to be my best &fastest. Great Job!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Replacement I replaced my over 10 year old shredder with a Fellowes because my last shredder was a Fellowes and it worked hard for 10 long years before quitting. This new shredder is a bit smaller than the last one and so it takes up a little less space which I appreciate. I think I'll be emptying the bin less often since this new machine shreds into smaller pieces. (An improvement for security concerns.) I read a what seemed like a gazillion reviews before settling on this shredder and am happy with my purchase!

Bin size is compact and easy to empty. The only reason I did not check shreds credit cards, staples and CDs is because in the manual it reads: Will shred: Paper, plastic credit cards, staples and small paper clips. Will not shred: Unopened junk mail, continuous forms, adhesive labels, transparencies,newspaper, CD/DVDs, cardboard, large paper clips, laminates, file folders, X-rays or plastic other than noted above.

This particular brand is much quieter, able to use for business, and it shreds basically all office papers without taking off paperclips. I was so pleased with my purchase!!!! I was able to shred a huge file of papers fast and efficiently. I thought the price range was good and will look into other office supplies that this company has to offer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Minor jam issues Two weeks ago I purchased this Fellowes shredder to replace another Fellowes unit that I had for 15+ years. The 11-C is noticeably quieter. Although it is rated as an 11 page shredder, on two occasions I have experienced jamming problems when attempting to shred 8-10 pages. Reversing the shredder did not clear the jams and I had to physically un-jam it using an ice pick and needle nose pliers to pull out the paper from the feed slot. Now I make sure I keep below 7 pages. Other than this minor inconvenience, I would still highly recommend this unit for home use.

It failed when they were using it. This is a very reliable shredder for home use and I recommend it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Power Shred 11C Okay, so long story short my older shredder keep jamming, so I'd hit reverse to free it up , but no luck after several attempts I cleaned all the paper out of the cross cutters it started working and about 3/4 of the paper it jams again so I made sure it would never bother anyone again. that was about 3 weeks ago so today 2-12-17 I bought this Fellowes well right after I plugged it in and tested it getting power I started shredding after 3 weeks I had a good pile of papers to shred and it preformed like a champ excellent purchase I'm happy. This product is perfect if you want seamless, reliable, and efficient shredding. It's not exactly silent but I prefer a little sound because it alerts pets and curious little ones to stay clear of the area.

Was the best pick, I began shredding away years of documents, gave it a break every 10 min. or so went back to it, a few bags later it is still doing great. I'm sure it will be around for a number of years for my shredding fun. . . If you have LOTS to shred this is your perfect home product .

I love the way it shreds our documents into 1,000 pieces. I never have to worry about if people steal our garbage getting confidential information from it. I never have to worry about little fingers getting caught in the shredder due to the safety LOCK for added protection. It shreds a bundle of paper and never has got jammed. Also this makes it AWSOME you can shred construction paper, card stock, and newspaper to create great art projects for all seasons. Thank you for adding a creative punch to your Fellowes products.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very good home shredder I purchased my shredder and took it home. It didn't come with instruction booklet so I started to use as I had my previous shredder for 7 years. I shred docs for about 5 minutes and it stopped and it appeared shredder had a jam even though I was only shredding 5 pieces at a time. I called Fellowes and was told to only shred for 5 minutes at a time and let it cool plus after you empty container apply oil to it. Neither of these were an issue with previous shredder. Anyhow, they sent me a new shredder and a manual. After reviewing it and following the directions the shredder is working great. Note: Include manual with every shredder. It will not shred 11 sheets at a time easily.

Trucked back and forth through the south and around the house. The previous Fellows shredder died of old age and kids. It lasted through reams of paper untold credit cards, paper clips (not recommended) and staples. There was absolutely no hesitation in purchasing another Fellows shredder. The newer model is much quieter than the previous model. Huge plus!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from secure shredding! i was being bombarded by too much junk mail (but then, who isn't?!!) and could not keep up with the stacks of mail. i have always recycled all paper before and it became a real time-consuming chore after a while. with this great shredder, it cuts my recycling time at least by half to three-quarters! not only does this expedite my recycling, but shredding helps to securely chop my info on any sensitive letters or documents! i would recommend this shredder also because it has enough power to tackle 11 sheets of paper at once and can also handle old credit cards.

Since her stroke, she has had some difficulty organizing and following steps. This shredder, our very first shredder purchase, is so easy to use. SO I've only used the new shredder a short time, but it seems to have good shredding power and is easy to use . I was pleasantly surprised when I un-boxed it. It is built solidly. So far, it has performed very well. I typically don't max it out at 11 sheets but I was doing five sheets at a time and it was flawless. I also have shredded several credit/other cards and I worried about what would happen but it performed without issue. I hope I continue to have the same performance for years to come. I am very pleased with my purchase.

So far, the quality seems the same and is MUCH quieter than its predecessor. I really like the new safety lock feature that keeps from accidentally engaging the shredder. I just garbage dumped that one out of frustration. This one has more body and character !

As this shredder is almost brand new, the performance is excellent, but durability can't honestly be assessed at this point. If durability is as good as I expect it to be, I know that I will be a very satisfied used. Works great, empties easily and it's really engineered to last.

The quality and performance of this new shredder are fantastic. The security of the cross cut shred is better, the speed of the shredding is about 10X what my other shredder was capable of, it is a very sturdy unit and is so much quieter than my previous unit. It also ripped through staples without a hitch.

Some have staples or were fed in crooked causing the papers to wrinkle on the way down and this machine tore through with little effort. I'll get back to you on that. I have a small business doing tax returns and each year I shred the sixth year back, about 5000 pages. Operation went smoothly. Good shredder!!

The only problem i found is it's shut down feature after 5 minutes. I thought it has broken on me. I guess everything needs a rest. I am mostly unhappy with not being able to get around this website. It is a Saturday and there isn't anyone to help me. Hours are M-F 7am to 7 pm. I want to download a manual but can't seem to find it or make it happen. My CRC number doesn't seem available. Which I find odd. These number are on my machine and they do not work in order for me toto be being able to just help my self to a download??? HELP!!! Customer service would be much better if someone was there.

It cuts the paper well with no jamming issues and keeps my information from falling into wrong hands. The basket is great I can just take and dump it on the trash can or in the fire pit. All those credit cards offers are no longer an issue I can just shred them and not worry about all the information....I really love my shredder.

The size is perfect for a home office. And the shredder can handle large amounts of paper at a time. The safety features allow the user to lock the unit when not in use so it can not be started by mistake. I would definitely recommend this product for anyone who is in the market for a new shredder.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Powershred 11c cross-cut shredder I have had several of these for home use in the last 20 years or so, and I must say this one works like the big monster heavy duty one we have at my place of employment. However; this one works as good, is a very nice portable size, and I can't believe how quiet it is while shredding. I also like the safety feature because my wife and I have two small grandchildren, so we don't have to worry about some very small fingers getting pinched, or cut. I would definitely recommend it, and the price is very competitive on this unit.

After 3 attempts at getting this device to work over a 2 month period it now sits by the front entrance awaiting its untimely trip to the garbage compactor. Save your time. Save your money. Save your sanity. Save the material you need to shred and sneak it into the secure destruction containers at work. Don't shred the receipt. You'll need it.

I spent a fair amount of time searching for a reliable, quality replacement shredder that had the features I wanted as well as the price I was willing to pay. This shredder is of quality construction that has great safety features and sheet capacity for its size. It has cross-cut shredding and can run continuously for 5 minutes before the cool down feature is activated. The shredder has the handle that allows for emptying the basket with ease. It is not as quiet as I would like but so far, I am quite pleased with my purchase.

The 5 minute run time I guess has locked it down for 30 minutes but it got me after only 2 minutes. I've waited 45 minutes. It will run in reverse but not forward. There's nothing in it Heading back to the store for a refund and a selection of another brand.

I actually preferred the style of our previous Fellowes crosscut.. It was easier to remove the bulky top than the 11C model is bcause it had a handle on the top! The new one is working well though.

It was jammed up so badly it wouldn’t receive paper, I made a decision that’s instead of driving many miles back to return it, I would try to see what was happening with it so I took the head off and cleaned out all the paper that was stuck, an hour later after picking paper out with tweezers, it now works great and is so powerful, it is flawless. (This was not the fault of FELLOWES) I’m just not sure how a return got placed back in the shelf, but all is good and it’s a great shredder!

It survived my home-based business of medical transcription service quite well. After retiring from that in 2017, my Fellowes shredder got "hijacked" by my mother. I decided to let her keep it and buy another for myself. Still an avid organizer of "paper chaos" within my home and office, I decided upon a slightly larger model with a higher sheet capacity. I'm sure it will see every day use. I'll put a lock on this one. Haha.

The shredder motor is not as strong and does not like shredding more than four A4 papers. The basket does not fit properly around the motor hence paper dust collects on the outside. Really quite disappointed

I followed everything to a T not running as many sheets as it was capable or even running more than 2 min because there was no need to hurry. I returned the first and ordered a second and this one did not work as long. It quit on me within 1 minute of operation. I am thoroughly disappointed. I did not shred more than 5 sheets at a time and I cannot believe it quit!

This feature is important today due to downsizing of allowable space at home for retirees, or those in an apartment. Tiny homes often limit the number of plugs available for shredders, appliances and other equipment. Crosscut size is great for my security needs, might have opted for confetti for even more security. Sheet capacity is more than I need, as I don't normally shred more than one or two sheets at a time. Haven't experienced a jam and I like how quiet it runs. Don't normally shred CD's, but I don't think I'll have any problem if I do.

Today, I started shredding old mail, not continuously but every few minutes for a few seconds. Suddenly it stopped working. I thought it was the auto shutoff for the 30 minute cooldown but NO. A few hours later I plugged it back in to do some more shredding, still no shred. It would not even spin. However, the reverse DOES work, which is nice, but it does not shred in reverse.

I discovered that the switch has broken because it just sits in a sort of cube the walls of which are 1mm thick plastic!!!! So all it takes is to move the switch hard enough to break the plastic and your shredder no longer works. Really poor design and very cheap build.In the pics you can see the plastic bit that has snapped off and the housing for the switch.

I can now secure all of our family's confidential and personal information instantly, in stead of storing it for future destruction. It just might replace my home office waste basket. It has already replaced my junk mail IN BASKET!

This one is by far my favorite because I can shred more pages at one time, and it barely ever gets jammed. It took a moment to realize the credit cards have to be placed in a certain, specific spot in the center. But after I learned that, I have had no problems with it!!!

I've been using Fellowes for years. My last one was a c60 lasted about 10 years so they are pretty durable as long as you lubricate it every 50 shreds/350 pages.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from CRC43500 Shredder I received this CRC43500 and set up per instructions from user manual and proceeded to shred a small stack of 8 x 11 copy paper. It did the shredding and I powered it off. When I wanted to shred more paper, it would not power up. Called customer service @ Fellows and they did their best to find the solution, but decided to ship to me a new unit. I received a LX50 CRC45050 unit and it is a much better shredder. I used it like I did the CRC43500 and it out performed by far. Very happy so far.
