Love the printer- don't love the ink

A victim of a firmware update
It was necessary for me to buy these cartridges because HP automatically updated the firmware no my printer rendering my 3rd party cartridges useless (until I swap the chips out which I plan on doing when the HP cartridges run dry). Better yet, the firmware update disabled the wired and wireless networking capability of the printer. While this is a known issue with the update, HP has done nothing to rectify it, let alone provide any troubleshooting assistance. It's taken me about a week to figure out how to get the printer to work again on my own. You can bet that I've disabled the automatic firmware up dates on the printer and that I will never buy another genuine HO product again.

I have the M281fdw. I just purchased this printer in December. I need to replace another brand printer. I needed something that was an All in One. I print in color all the time for work. I tried to use generic toner cartridges, the life and color was not crisp and only lasted about 1000 pages. The color with genuine HP toner is so clear, crisp and vibrant. I am at 2000 pages at the time of this review and the color is still as good as the first page I printed. HP genuine toner is worth the little extra money. The printer will also show that the toner needs to be replaced but still continues to print great quality prints. Continue to use the toner until the colors fade.

Print quality is great - but oh so pricey
I've had this HP color laser printer for about a year and finally needed to replace the cartridges and past experience with lower cost replacements got me to buy them from HP. They work fine, as expected. But...the replacements cost as much as the original printer did! Crazy. Why do laser carts and even ink jet ink have to be so expensive?

Super Vibrant and Rich colors
I received my 3 pack of Laser Toner cartridges about a week ago, Installed them asap as I was out of the setup toner.... Have used these for about a week now. I print a lot of charts, and the colors are not only vibrant and rich they are just plain AMAZING ! You can even tell the colors from across the room when a paper is posted on the wall. The BLACK is VERY DARK as it should be. Also I haven't noticed any STRAY toner splotches on papers etc. HP IS and always has been the BEST in a GO-TO Printer and their laser jet printers have never let me down (I've used HP since the Laser jet 4 in the 90's).
Installation is simple just pull out the tray (printer) and remove sealed tape on cartridges, set them in the tray, printer initializes them in a minute and your ready to go with LOTS of printing... and I mean LOTS these last a LONG time.
If your considering a LASER or a COLOR LASER I WOULD NOT HESITATE one bit... and go with a HP Laser... These cartridges are NOT CHEAP Plastic.

I have tried many off brand toners but they always given me problems. At times their chips stop working or their colors are dull. I finally decided to invest in original HP toners. Their print quality is amazing. Blacks are truly black and colors are vibrant. I work as a Financial Advisor for a large company and am constantly printing pamphlets with daily spreadsheets, charts, programs, itineraries, etc... and need my work to look professional. Expensive yes , however quality always comes with a higher cost. If you’re printing for any professional reason use original HP Toner and buy it from a trusted source!

I am amazed at the quality and consistency of the original HP 202X toner cartridges for my COLOR LASERJET PRO MFP M281CDW. I haven't always found the OEM toner to be the best with various other machines in the past, but I am sold. HP has done it right and consistent. My color prints are rich, dynamic and beautiful. They are durable as well as frame worthy. I print a lot with my business. As a Graphic Designer and Food Cart owner, I print a lot and I need my work to be consistent and good quality. From menus for the cart to proofs for my clients, I need to be picky. Amazing Accurate Colors!
Just got the 202X I ordered yesterday and replaced the old knock-off toner I was using to save a buck. I've been using it super often to print out colorful documents and pictures. Wow! Buying the HP OEM toners was NOT a mistake! The colors look waaaay better than the cheaper alternatives!
It was super easy to install, simply open the printer, pull out the old and insert the new.
Overall this was a great purchase. I won't be buying knockoff toner ever again.

Quality Vibrant Prints
Reviewing the HP 202X 3-pack color toner for my HP LaserJet 200 color M251nw
The HP 202X 3-pack color toner is packaged nicely and is easy to both unpackage and install. The cartridges feel sturdy and I didn't feel concerned I was going to break a piece off. I've used refurbished toner in the past and they just don't work as well as these do. There's no concern that they will work, and the color just sits deeper in the paper producing much more vivid colors, with amazing color gradation. I use my printer to print everything from business proposals, charts and graphs, to recipes with pictures to follow, pictures from my phone, and school work for the kids. With all that printing I rely not only the excellent quality of the prints, but I also find that HP 202X 3-pack color toner seems to last longer allowing me to print more without worry.
If you are looking for toner refill for your color laser printer, and you are concerned with the quality of your printing, then the HP 202X 3-pack color toner should be your choice.

True Black, Vivid Colors w/ HP Genuine Toners
This review is on the HP 202X 3-pack toner for my HP LaserJet Pro M281fdw, a color laser printer.
The package: HP 202X 3-pack toner has arrived with a well protective package. Each toner (Yellow, Cyan, Magenta) is packed separately.
Installation: Followed by the HP printer manual, 1. pull out the toner drawer (very nice design), 2. just make sure a matched color code on the drawer, 3. install all three toners. A black toner and starter color toners were installed previously. Note that avoid touching the green imaging drum, and minor contamination such as fingerprint can cause the print defects.
Toner status and settings: HP printer does automatically all necessary actions and shows info on the display.
Outputs: Tried several documentations, decals, window/Car decals, presentation, and B/W test.
Text: Very much better than my old Canon MF4880DW (B/W), Text was very clear and in very black, tone and gray shades were much clearer and more showed more hues.
Presentation: Wow, it looks like a professional service from the copy store. Artworks and text looked great, and colors were well matched to the those of originals
Window decals and store decals: Look fantastic
Final note: I did not expect much technology/quality improvement on the printer or ink/toners, but, I was wrong. There were always innovations to make it better. Although, the price of these toners is a little high side. With Genuine HP Toners, we do not have to worry about the print quality, print capacity, warranty, and any malfunctions, or support. I contacted HP support regarding installation and disposal, I found a very well organized intuitive guide and saved time. In the spec, each toner can yield about 7,500 pages, which is more than 12-month usages for me.

Two of the three cartridges were defective
I replaced the Yellow toner cartridge immediately upon receipt and then the Cyan and Magenta on March 3. I printed a minimal amount of color pages (no more than 25 pages) and was not in my office for two weeks. My Preferences indicated that the Cyan and Magenta levels were very low and then I could not print because those two cartridges were low. I removed the cartridge tray and the toner was leaking all over the printer. I could not return the product because 30 days elapsed, so I purchased another package of toner cartridges. Please see the photos. I would be happy to pay for the Yellow cartridge but cannot pay for defective. cartridges and would be happy to send them to you.

As a graduate student, I use a great deal of toner to print out theory papers and other materials. As a result, my toner is in constant need of replacement. The HP printer software gives me notice when toner is getting low, and it is very simple to place an order. The toner arrived as promised and in good condition. The labels needed to return the used cartridges for recycling were also included as promised. I only wish toner was more affordable for college students!

My husband and I both work from home, so you can imagine we both need to print quite a lot. Between documents, calendars, and shipping labels (I sell products online in addition to my freelance work), we need ink / toner that comes out nice and clear. The HP toner 202x 3-pack has been great so far with crisp colors and sharp black and white lines. I love the way my labels look, and the high volume cartridges should last us a very long time. The value of the 3-pack is worth the cost since it should continue to let us print for several months or more. So far I am very happy with the product and the way the pages look! We had no problems installing each cartridge in our printer, and the results were immediate. Since installation we've printed everything from reports, timecards, shipping labels, and much more. I would recommend this toner for your HP printer for sure!

I bought a HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M281cdw for my home office. It's mighty for its size and feel that it was a good purchase. I would buy it again. Easy to Install.. Works better than expected.
I bought ALL colors with X extended capacity on each one. Install took 30 seconds.. Mailed back old cartridges for recycling purposes with easy mail back instructions. A bit expensive, but I knew they would be for laser cartridges.

Great Toner
I have been using HP toner for a few years now. In the past I tried cheaper no brand toner and has issues with it.
It didn't seem to last as long.
The colors were not as vibrant.
I had one cartridge start to leak toner and that was not fun to clean up.
With genuine HP toner I have never had these issues. Color prints look great (as well as black and white), it lasts longer and it doesn't leak!
It is easy to install and no mess when doing so.
In short, don't try to save a few bucks on something that matters to your business.

The last time I needed new toner I ordered high capacity cartridges. This is an excellent offer for all laser printer users. These cartridges never dry up and clog like ink jet cartridges do. High capacity cartridges cost less per page to print so it is a bargain.

I print a lot for my business. I'm happy with the printer and the ink. However, every time I install a new cartridge I immediately order a new one so I don't run out. It's never in stock so it takes hours looking for them over a few days. I shouldn't have to buy individual cartridges at a higher price because the bulk ones are out of stock. This really needs to be fixed. I'll recommend the printer, but beware of reordering supplies or you'll run out!

What a CROCK of CRAP HP has done
I purchased a brand new laser printer, color about a year ago. I have used it a lot. This past month I ran into an issue where my ink all of a sudden stop being recognized in the machine. it was recently reloaded with ALL colors that I purchased online via amazon. they were NOT OEM HP cartridges, but I had done this several times before with no issues. Then I find that HP had sent a signal to printers to keep them from using non OEM ink cartridges. I see HP, you wan to sell INK more than printers. But It cost me 4x the normal price for OEM cartridges from HP not to mention I had to remove the other type because they would not be recognized any longer and WHO THE heck is paying me for those?? HP? yea right? this will be MY LAST HP printer I purchase. Brother is the better option. by the way, I priced a BRAND NEW laser printer that was within $100 of what HP wants for the new ink. I just don't get it. HOW the heck made the decision to alienate your customers HP? some stupid tie and shirt person sitting high up in the HP tower??

Turn-around time from order to delivery was great
My printer indicated that it was low on toner. I was able to seamlessly place a new order for more of the correct toner without having to research all the different prices and distributors. I trusted HP and they delivered the cartridges before my printer ran out of the toner. I opted for the higher capacity toner and I know it will last longer. Thank you for being so efficient.

Always good ink, but beware of software updates. I installed my ink and got a warning that said it was a non-HP chip. Tried to return it but they referred me to their support page. Frustrating but finally figured out I needed a software update.

The printer is great and the cartridges are easy to replace; however, the cartridges are really expensive. I bought the 3 color XL toner cartridges and 2 black XL cartridges at almost $550. Pretty steep if you ask me.

The printer claims that the new cartridge does not have the authentic HP chip within it, so the entire printer doesn't work. I have the old cartridge in there just to print black-and-white. Gigantic waste of money!

I purchased this item because it was HP to go with my HP printer. Now the print won’t accept saying it’s missing the required HP chip.
Now printer is stuck in a loop of initializing over and over with the 49 error code.

Doesn't Work Well With MAC Computer
It is so incredibly difficult to get this printer to communicate with my MAC desktop computer. My computer is up to date on all updates too. I literally have a hard-line connection between the computer and printer, as well as a wifi connection for both of them, and they're sitting directly next to each other on my desk and it takes FOREVER to get documents to print. No exaggerating, like 5 minutes per page. If it was willing to print the documents at all. Forget about getting things to print on quick notice. We have resorted to downloading documents onto a Zip drive then plugging them in to the printer to print that way, and even sometimes that doesn't work now. Now we have to jump on the printer's wifi and print through that to get things to print, then I have to switch wifi for my computer to find the next thing to print, open the document up, switch wifi back to the printer's wifi and print... the cycle continues. Lame-oooooo!!

Replaced all of my printers ink with these new black and color cartridges, over $500 worth. When I try to print an error message states that cartridges are not authentic HP. So much money lost. :( I feel scammed and could have bought a new printer, for the price of all of this new ink.

Package got lost by Fedex and after 2 weeks it took 8 attempts with HP customer service to get the ball rolling for a re-shipment which is still - after another 5 days - "processing" without line of sight when it will be shipped

Internet wasn’t working so I called directly and spoke to a sales person they took my order. I told him about the address change. They repeated back the correct address that I gave them and then they went ahead and sent it to the old address. Fortunately, the people at the old address received it and we’re forwarding it to me Yet to receive it because it’s still in transit from the old address to my new address. I’m running out of ink and I don’t want to spend another $460 and have the first order arrive after I’ve gotten second order. I don’t want 900+ dollars worth of ink on hand that can go dry Shame on you HP. No, I couldn’t change the address on the Internet because my Internet was down. That’s why I called. I made a good effort to change it. The customer service did change it and why it went to the old address is a good question for HP to find out why.
