Great PC
My old laptop had lasted 11 years so it had been quite a long time since I bought a new one and it felt like a daunting task to choose. A friend helped me do the research. I know it is rather “dinosaur tech” but I really wanted a CD/DVD player installed. This one had what I needed and so far I have been very pleased. During this time of Covid I have been doing so many zooms and I’m very pleased with the camera and sound system as well.

It does everything that I wanted it to do!!
I bought this as a backup for my HP desktop which is getting old. I loaded everything that I use on it so, if my desk tops drops dead, I can quickly substitute my laptop.

Nicest laptop I've used in 10 years!
This laptop is a gem. The beautiful, IPS screen is reason alone to buy this model, since it's so clear, bright and color balanced. The i5 is fast, stable and there's no garbage software. The frame is tight and rigid, amazingly thin and light. My wife loves the feel of the illuminated keyboard. I've been using it for a month everything works as you'd expect.
I'm a computer repair guy and discriminating computer user, so I've seen it all. My only minor complaint is that the screen bends a bit when you open it from an outside corner. If you open from the middle, it's fine and it'll last forever.
The HP website was excellent. I tried the Lenovo site for comparison sake, and it stinks.

Fast and nice keyboard feel.
The machine is almost the same as my last HP laptop. During initial setup, it became very hot to the touch, and so did the charger. But after that, I haven't experienced any problems with overheating. The keys on keyboard are impossible to read, as the lettering is very light and delicate, and my office is sunny -- so basically I cannot read them at all. I bought a desk lamp to hover over the keyboard so that I can read it.
