As far as my older Z Book is concerned, I still have to plug in a charging cord because it won't charge when it's just on the docking station. Other than that, it's fine.

I had previously gone into major electronic retail stores for one and twice I bought equipment that didn't work. I reached out to HP to ask a question and the agent was able to tell me which product was made for my laptop and it worked flawlessly. I then reached back out to him for a printer recommendation. Not only did he recommend a printer that fits my needs, he beat the sale price in stores and free delivery. I will be going back to him for all my needs. Thanks for the great service. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Docking Station! This docking station was the perfect addition to my home office. I am using it to seamlessly switch between my work and personal laptops. All the peripherals (monitor, keyboard, mouse, external CD drive, etc.) are connected to the docking station. All I have to do is connect the USB-C cable to the laptop I'm using at the moment. It really helps cut down on the cable clutter. This is not a TB3 dock, so I still need to have each laptop's power cable plugged in, but this is not a big deal for me. And that's actually the reason I picked this dock as opposed to a TB3 dock which would have been more expensive. I did have to download the DisplayLink driver onto each laptop in order for it to recognize my monitor that is connected through the dock, but this is a DisplayLink dock, so that is to be expected. I do not have any complaints with this dock at all. It is absolutely doing everything I need it to. I can't speak to the USB-A functionality as I am not using it for that purpose, but it's great for USB-C!

This dock definitely comes in handy for presentations in those classrooms where the connections are limited for student computers. My first time using it, my classmates asked if I could keep it plugged in for their computer presentations and it handled beautifully. It's definitely a must have for students

Downloaded drivers and using USB C to A adapter and it works with old pavillion dv6t also, only 2 screens at a time, but still a bonus! Solidly built, small footprint. Zero problems or issues. Only improvement - could use a 2 meter usb C cord which would be longer, allowing for more placement of various hardware without using additional cords/adapters.

Went couple weeks trying to find a compatible device. Called HP support and person helping me was fantastic. Took time to listen to me walk thru my problem, found the product for me and then helped me sketch the set up. Awesome customer service!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Dock, Missing One Thing This is a great improvement over my previous dock which I had paired with an Acer laptop. That dock did not provide the ability to start or wake the laptop from sleep, which meant I had to crack open the laptop just a bit whenever I wanted to use it. This one connected to my HP Pavilion Gaming laptop, can start or wake the PC and I don't have to open the lid. That's a huge gain for me. Plenty of port options for my peripherals, too. The only reason it doesn't rate a five star is that it doesn't appear to actually provide power to the laptop so I still need to plug the computer into AC power.

I am especially ecstatic to be able to connect my Apple Macbook Pro to (2) HP 27ec monitors then connect the (2) monitors right back in minutes without having to fuss with the wires behind my desktop or on the sides of my Macbook respectively. Also connected to my universal dock, include a 2 TB Lacie for external storage and connect that directly on my dock for quick and easy convenience for storage on either device when connected. Ethernet connected, HDMI to a 3rd display not far apart from my tech echo system and I have additional (2) USB ports and headphone jack to spare. Did I mention this sports a USB A to USB C adapter? Love this product. Recommending this to all my friends, colleagues and associates alike. Would certainly buy this again. Thanks HP!

Keeps the laptop fully charged and is able to drive triple displays at 1080p 60hz. I also hoped to use it with my older Lenovo t440p laptop connected via usb-a 3.0. I’m happy to find it keeps up with dual displays nicely.

Got this over the holidays and finally set it up in January, after a series of troubleshooting I was informed that my laptop requires more power than this docking station provides and was redirected to sales since it was just beyond 30 days. So basically too bad, just buy another one here talk to sales.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Working great after driver download I was looking for a dock that would work with today's latest technology but also be backwards compatible and this is working well. I would have rated it 5 stars if the instructions or documentation would have shown that you need to go to the HP support website and download drivers to make it work. When I initially plugged everything in the dock did not recognize anything until I downloaded and installed the drivers. I had no problem doing that but it would have been nice if that were made clear up front.

Read many reviews for docks that won't work. Often these reviews do not describe the host computer. I asked HP support if the G2 would work with my Envy. They said "yes". Hooked up the dock via the USB C connector. Plugged in a monitor (HDMI), several HDs, speakers, and universal Bluetooth connector. Turned everything on and everything worked. No driver download needed. Been operating for five days, several restarts for software upgrades, and no problems or issues experienced. I'm a happy camper.

Two! What a horrid waste of money. After chatting briefly on line with an HP representative that was so incredibly patient with me while I tried to find my laptop's serial number, I got the perfect recommendation that allows me to add an additional monitor to my desk. So now I have 2 monitors and my laptop monitor. And very easy to setup after downloading the appropriate drivers and using displayport to hdmi adapters for my monitor cables.

I feel screwed by HP because the 30-day return period started the day I received it but I won't receive the laptop until the following month to be able to check it out. I'm unsure if this is even compatible with my new laptop and after 3-calls to HP I've yet to find anyone who could give me a definitive answer. How can I give a positive rating on something I'm unable to use and check out. HP should give 30-day return policy from the day the FULL order is delivered. I guess I should just return it and reorder one after I get the laptop. Oh, HP will probably charge me a restocking fee? Screwed again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from mostly fine It's nice and it works much better than without a dock. The major flaw is on wake from sleep. Sometimes the windows get garbled on resume from suspend. The window outlines are sometimes pixelated wrong, and sometimes applications appear covered in rainbow speckles. It's impossible to know what's responsible, the OS, the dock, the monitor itself. Would have thought using an HP dock with an HP laptop would have helped but ... oh well.

It's great to have one dock that I can swap out for my different computers. I bought this after buying a cheaper dock off of Amazon that broke down on me. I am very happy with this new dock as it is small, very nimble to use with different computers. An added bonus was that it included a USB-C to USB adapter.

But the ethernet connection seems stops working and I have to reset my computer about twice a work day to clear it out. Saving grace is that my HP Probook resets in about 15 seconds. I'm hoping this is just a driver or firmware issue that will eventually get fixed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 3 day Dock Station The dock worked for 3 days only. After trying to wake up the system form being asleep, the monitor would not work and only flashed. After contacting HP support, they sent another unit that never worked. I spent over 3 hours on the phone with HP support being switched from person to person that did not repair the problem or tell me how to get a refund for this $300 paper-weight.

The only problem I have with it is that once every week or so it will drop the disconnection from my laptop, which means any virtual call I'm on will drop as well (since it disconnects from the internet for a second). I was on an important work call yesterday sharing my screen and it dropped right then. Not ideal....

But at least a third of time when I connect my laptop to the docking station, the contents of my laptop do not transfer to my external monitor and it doesn't work. I have to shut off my monitor and reconnect the docking station multiple times to get it to work.

There are several cheaper options avaiable but they are not compatible with my HP 850 G6 latitude laptop. This does not work with my macbook though . also, my usb security key does not work from dock unless i unplud dock and plug it back to laptop.

I also have 2x HP 24" monitors connected. Why I say this dock is universal, it that it also works with my Macbook Air M1 version. I have display link on my Mac, and all the peripherals and dual monitors, works exactly, as they do with me HP. For this reason, I have given 5 stars

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So close to perfect, just needs more power Works well with my HP Envy but lacks sufficient power when used with a MacBook Pro. Make sure you don't add USB devices which require power through USB as the dock doesn't have enough to spare. Purchased a self powered USB 3.0 hub and connect devices to that instead. Needs Display Link installed on computer to make maximum use of Display Ports and UHD displays. Works perfectly with my HP 35f curved display and a vertical Dell 24” (both 1440 displays).
