As an IBM Cloud Service-based solution, the typical tasks and costs associated with acquiring, deploying, and managing hardware and software for on-premises SIEM solutions are not required. IBM installs and deploys QRadar SIEM software in the IBM SoftLayer cloud environment, and provides infrastructure management as well as 24 x 7 support. You can download and install enabling software (called a Data Gateway) to collect events from all supported log sources on premises or in the cloud. The enabling software forwards the collected events to the QRadar SIEM servers running in the IBM cloud, through a VPN tunnel, where the data is stored and managed.
