Y-cable redundancy maximizes network availability by protecting hardware such as the chassis, processor, power supplies, and interface module from failures when connecting two CTP systems. Configuring Y-cable redundancy switches a circuit to a co-located alternate CTP and port during a network or equipment failure. Using the Y-cable redundancy feature requires a special Y cable, Juniper Networks Part number CTP-CBL-4Q-Y. The Y cable provides control leads between the two CTP systems, in addition to the standard signal, clock, and data leads that are connected to the attached device. Compatible with the CTP2000 product line.
