Rated 5 out of 5 by from Y27q-20 monitor purchased for X-Plane11 flight sim This monitor will not run X-Plane 11 on Windows 11 Pro, why it was purchased, over DP at 2560 x 1440, 165 Hz refresh rate despite latest drivers from Nvidia. When I try I get a blank black screen and only a hard reboot will resolve. The machine includes an Nvidia GEFORCE RTX 3070 GPU. To run X-Plane it must be downgraded to run at 144 Hz over either DP or HDMI. Also, the driver offered by Lenovo support is worthless; it contains three files, an .icm, a .cat and an .inf, but no executable driver. I reported this to Lenovo; so far no positive response. Finally, at the time of purchase Lenovo offered a 10 % military discount via ID.me. I am registered with ID.me as a veteran with a service connected disability. The ID.me interface used by Lenovo required authentication from cell phone only, not email. I live on a remote ranch in western Arkansas where there is no cell phone signal at my location, so I was not able to authenticate to ID.me. I called Lenovo support and explained this predicament and was told by the support agent that she would put through a credit to my cc once the monitor shipped. I contacted her by reply email both when the monitor shipped and when it was received. So far there has been no response from her and no credit to my cc. Sounds like bait and switch to me. This Y27q-20 is an acceptable monitor but it gets only 3 stars because it won't run at spec, offers only an unworkable driver package and its support people cannot be believed. Its one saving grace, compared to a host of other monitors that support 144 Hz is its 3-year warranty. All others offer only a 1-year warranty.

The colors and accuracy are already nice, but add the ability to run games at 144hz and super fast 1ms response time with excellent sound with the jbl speakers. This is THE monitor to get. Other things are great, but i can't stand IPS glow so i did not keep this monitor

I’ve been using this monitor for a few weeks now and I’m in love with it, the display is really nice, the bezels are extremely thin, hardly any backlight bleed. This is probably one of the best 1440p 27inch 1ms IPS monitors you can get, especially for this price point. The menus are also extremely easy to navigate with the nice buttons on the front and I also love how he entire stand is metal, makes it feel very sturdy. My only complaint with it would be that the stands rubber is blue which doesn’t really go with my mostly red/rainbow setup but it’s not too noticeable and that effects performance in no way but I would have preferred it to be black or the same grayish color as the stand. I am very impressed with this monitor and would recommend if anyone is looking for the specs listed, this would be the one to get.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best monitor with these specs! This monitor is the best IPS monitor I've owned so far. I was on the fence between this and the LG 27gl850, but I decided to go with the Lenovo. Although they have the same panel, the differences are very apparent. Firstly, the quality control at Lenovo is top notch. The unit I received had zero dead or stuck pixels and minimal blb and ipsglow. The fact that this monitor supports 10 bit color @165 hz is another huge plus over other monitors with similar specs. Lenovo also seems to have tuned overdrive as the ghosting and overshoot on the normal mode is non-existent. All in all, you should definitely get this monitor if you're looking for low input lag and a low response time IPS monitor.

Is excellent for photo editing and perfect for gaming. Is fell is premium, metal base. 27 inch and qhd is is perfect resolution for windows and 100 scaling and no pixel view. Is better combination that's 24 inch and 1080p. More sharper image.

Only problem with the monitor is that the buttons are on the front panel and looks "cheap" for a $500 monitor. The UI is very annoying to navigate through. On a side note, my product unfortunately was defective. The screen went black whenever my GPS dropped a bit while gaming and happened every 10 seconds which resulted in me returning it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best 27" 1440p 144/165hz Monitor on the Market Decided it was time to upgrade my PC setup that I built 8 years ago starting with the monitor and peripherals. Looking around, it seemed many agreed 27" 1440p was the sweet spot so I started researching monitors in that segment. After looking around stumbled onto the Legion Y27q-20 and it's pretty much one of the best high refresh rate 27" 1440p IPS monitors on the market right now. It uses LG's Nano-IPS panel from the GL850 with 1ms response rate. Was debating between this and the LG which had comparable prices when I was looking to buy. The Legion Y27q-20 won with its better build quality (metal stand, headphone stand, swiveling mount) all on top having 165hz vs LG's 144hz. One downside compared to the GL850 would be having to use buttons for the OSD controls instead of having joystick controls though admittedly, I rarely fiddle with my settings. Surprisingly, there are pretty much no reviews for this out there on YouTube or tech sites despite having been out for some time. Dunno if this is just due to limited availability or what, but glad I took the chance and grabbed this anyways. Love it so far!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good monitor, Bad Windows HDR It's big, it's beautiful. It's my first upgrade from a 60hz 1080p TN monitor. I notice what appears to be back light bleed but it's very minimal and I wouldn't have even noticed it if it wasn't something I was expecting after reading dozens of monitor reviews. The only problem I have with it is that with HDR enabled, every single time the screen transitions between SDR and HDR content I get a blank screen. Complaining about this on Reddit has yielded comments indicating this is a problem with Windows 10 and how it does HDR, not an issue with the monitor itself. Still, it would have been great to know, because the HDR color gamut (since the brightness/local dimming still isn't there for "good" HDR) was a big reason to buy this monitor over the lower priced SDR version of the LG Nano IPS (forget the model # but it's the one that's very popular right now). I mean, it looks great, but a black screen every time I load a game, alt tab, full screen/exit a full screen video, etc... it's a lot.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality monitor, slight calibration issues. The build of the monitor is solid. However, calibrating this monitor is quite a pain. While the presets are good, they don't have the options to be changed in terms of brightness, contrasts, gamma, etc. I ended up having to use NVIDIA's program to calibrate my monitor. After all the calibration, this monitor is great and I haven't encountered any issues every since.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality monitor for the price On paper, this monitor is the lenovo equivalent rendition of the LG 27GL850, but a little better in every aspect. Even though both are using the same model of LG nano-IPS panel, Lenovo manages to eek out 165hz on the panel. The build quality of the monitor is great, there's no RGB, and the stand has both rotation of the panel, rotation of the base, and tilt. Like the LG monitor, there is also a usb hub, and the headset jack allows for both microphone and speakers in one, but requires the Lenovo software to toggle between the speaker jack and some other settings.

Colors seem a bit strange coming from a different monitor but I would say that's more a testament of the coloring on my old monitor than this one. I wish there was a straightforward option to adjust rgb levels to get colors the way I want. Other than that worked right out of the box at 165HZ no black screen issues that people report with the 10 Series Nvidia cards using a 3080.

The only thing I dont like is that the screen is not completely filled to the thin bezel. Yes the bezel is thin but there is a blank column of black screen on the left and right side.

That being said, I would GLADLY pay retail price for this thing after my experience over the past month and change. I think its important to note that I have a 1440p ASUS and a 1440p Omen in my 3 monitor setup. (I know, different monitors, no it does not look as good as it could if they matched It's extremely fair to say this has the best color, brightness, sharpness, and general level of viewing pleasure versus the other two. And its the cheapest. You wont regret buying this.

I upgraded from an older 1440p 60hz IPS display and not only is the high refresh rate awesome, but I was surprised how much better the brightness, contrast, and color were as well. Very pleased with the shipping speed, no dead pixels, and minimal backlight bleed. Connected via displayport and resolution/165hz was automatically picked set in Windows, no fiddling necessary. Would not hesitate to purchase again, great monitor!

Dog buttons on the front of the display feel a little cheap and I think I would have liked a power cable that is standard, but that is why it is cheaper than rivals and a minor issue. Stand is great and solid.

Got a great deal on it over black friday. You get extra USB ports, a headphone hanger, 165Hz refresh rate, and a 3 year warranty. The warranty was a big selling point for me as a lot of these other monitors have only a 1 year. It's just a little peace of mind at no extra cost. My panel hasn't had any problems so far, very little light bleed, and solid build quality. I honestly like that it just had a modern look with no RGB lighting. Makes it look professional. I work in IT and we went with Lenovo for our supplier. I've definitely been impressed with their build quality and customer service.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best 1440p NANO IPS value monitor Nano IPS, 1440p, 165 hz, 10 bit. Beautiful screen, ips glow was not bad- very little which is expected with ips screens. No ghosting on overdrive settings. Color accurate out of the box, just switched to sRGB and HDR. Best monitor in it's class/price range. Was lucky and got it for 340$ on black friday.

Rebought it since there wasn't anything better for the price and technology, now running great with my 3080 and looks good on Cyberpunk 2077. Definitely worth it! Works great with G-Sync compatible and don't notice any glitches or tear so you technically don't need a G-Sync capable/ultimate setup.

The headphone holder on the left side if the monitor is a welcome and unexpected addition. Also the stand is very ergonomic which is great because I cannot VESS mount with the way I have my current desk placed. Overall my panels came with some ips glow(or bulb? Idk. It doesnt bother me too much. Out of the box I was happy with he colors. Overall, solid monitor if you want a fast response IPS monitor. This goes on sale it seems often enough for 350 if you use the affiliate link. Would recommend

I upgraded from a 1080p 60hz monitor and the 165hz is like butter. I paired it with an RTX 3070 and Ryzen 5 3600 and it's been working perfectly. No complaints.

However, it does have a couple caveats: 1) the stand is quite large, and takes up a lot of desk space; 2) 165 Hz doesn't work with Pascal (GTX 10xx) cards, although 144 Hz does.

My only real complaint is the excessive IPS glow, particularly on the bottom left corner. I personally wouldn't pay any more than I did for this monitor due to the issue. Other than that it's not that bad of a deal and is a good upgrade for anyone coming from a 1080p, 60hz, is non-adaptive-sync display.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great monitor with a serious flaw When the monitor works, it's great. The colors, refresh rate, pixels density, and ghosting are excellent. However, the monitor has an issue that will cause it to turn off for a few seconds at a time, seemingly at random. Updating monitor drivers, video card drivers, and manually configuring detailed monitor settings does nothing to resolve the issue. Researching this issue shows that Lenovo is aware but does nothing to fix it. I would love this monitor if the issue didn't exist, but, due to this issue, I do not recommend buying it.

While at first I was a little skeptical at exactly the jump I would see, but at this size coming from even a 24” 1080p 144hz panel, the jump is amazing. Had a minor issue regarding G-Sync and my 1070 with a little flickering (google it, there is a simple fix, but after moving to the 3080, this monitor is an absolute dream. Colors (again with some tweaking from Reddit), are amazing, and no visible ghosting from what I can tell. Overall very happy, just wish it had a better GUI but that’s not enough to remove a star!

The 1 ms response isn't a viable setting if you actually want to use the monitor though so the real response times are in the range of 7-9 ms.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice overall, but with flaws Great looking monitor overall. Only issues I have is a small glow in the bottom left corner. It's only visible with black screens though. The other issue is having g-sync on with Nvidia Pascal cards causes the screen to randomly go black for a few seconds. It happens quite often too. Makes g-sync unusable until they fix this issue. Clearly a firmware issue. The work around didn't fix the problem entirely, but did help with the frequency of it. Pretty unacceptable for a monitor of this caliber and price. It sure would be nice to use the feature that I paid extra for (g-sync without issues. 3 star until they can fix the g-sync issue. Obviously great if you don't have a Nvidia Pascal GPU.

The nano IPS technology with 10bit color provides whole new gaming experience on my old game. Even my friend never plays games can tell the difference of graphic performances in the game. The price is very competitive, in comparison with other monitors carrying nano-IPS panels. The monitor is highly rated and recommended in a monitor-reviewing third-party website (rtings.com) If you are interested in gaming at 1440p/165Hz, give it a try. (remember using Display Port cable to reach 165 Hz of refresh rate) Highly recommend it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic Monitor This monitor is insane. The colors are accurate and pop, the 165hz refresh rate. The gaming experience is really nice on this. I’ve had no issues with it since I got it two weeks ago. I have some flaws with it like you can’t change other settings in SRGB mode (like brightness) and I wish the bezels could be a little thinner. All in all, this has the same panel has the 500$ nano ips LG one, but it’s cheaper and has a WAY better build quality and better stand. I love this thing.

The colors on this monitor are more neutral and not as straining on the eyes. I also like the usb ports located on the monitor. I use the vesa mount but the base of the stand is on larger side. What you don't see in the stats is that its very well constructed, looks cool but not tacky, and comes with an excellent stand that adjusts height and tilt. The backlight layout and IPS panel means this has some noticably poor black levels and uniformity compared to other options, but in most use-cases this isn't distracting. The response time, color-rendering, and g-sync compatibility make up for it. For g-sync to work reliably with my GTX 1080, a firmware update that came out about a week after my purchase was needed. It installed painlessly.

But there are several cons with this model like: - Nano IPS displays cause heave eye strain on some people and sadly I'm one of them, wish they revisit this problem in the future because these panels are amazing - the black screen issue is super annoying, I found out is not only present with Pascal cards but can happen with almost every card, I read they are working on a patch at least - the buzzing while off is super annoying and weird, like seriously, what the fudge?! Never heard of something like this on a any monitor, let alone on an almost 500$ one.

I bought this monitor as an upgrade from a 1080p monitor, but it appears that when running some games, even non resource intensive ones, the monitor randomly blacks out and goes into monitor sleep mode for a few seconds. This is quite the hassle, but I'm waiting to see if upgrading the graphics card from a 1080 to one of the newer models would fix this or not.

My unit has very minimal backlight bleed and I can tell the difference between this and my VA 1080 monitor. The picture quality is amazing. I read that it is worth the upgrade to 1440p, especially on this nano panel, and let me tell you I can truly tell the difference in my gaming. It was worth the upgrade and can tell this will last me for years. The base is very sturdy and long, but my desk is small so I used a VESA mount on it to give me more space on my desk. Bought it during black Friday so the deals were very worth it compared to its other Nano panel competitors.

Screen has a little backlight bleed/glow in top left area as well as bottom right (common on IPS panels) but its not a deal breaker. I've had a few issues when playing Warzone, not sure if this is specific to the monitor, but the game and monitor will be out of sync for a few seconds randomly. It didn't happen with my old monitor so I'm not sure the issue. Button layout is okay, but could definitely be a little more intuitive. Once you get use to it it's pretty simple though. Image quality is amazing and it produces the entire RGB gamut for vibrant colors. Overall I'm happy with my purchase and would rate this 4/5 so far.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful Monitor I've been using this monitor for a couple months now and it is amazing. Gaming at 1440p and over 60fps is game changing. The IPS panel is great for work as well. Text is clear and viewing angles are good. Colors are awesome out of the box. Only issues are its really bright, which may not be an issue for some, but there is no way to change the brightness easily with the monitor. Unlike most monitors, it does not have brightness buttons or a way to control it on the monitor. The settings interface on the monitor is pretty awful too.

It looks great and it is easy to tweak the settings to your liking. The stand is very durable and it is easily adjustable in terms of the tilt, swivel, and vertical movement.

I've used it exclusively with a 2020 Legion 5 laptop with NVIDA GeForce RTX 2060 graphics card. Connected to the monitor via USB-C out from the laptop to Displayport on the monitor, G-sync is activated to take enable the 165 Hz refresh rate. This monitor has been great for me. It's sleek-looking, has nice colors, a variety of settings, etc. Very happy with my purchase!

The stand is very sturdy and the shape design of the feet can actually help organize a few little toys on my desk. The superspeed USB ports also help a lot with getting some extra access.

Apparently this is a known issue since 2019 but no fix released yet even tried the Lenovo recommended driver update. The monitor looks excellent and calibration is phenomenal but just does not work for gaming.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid purchase This monitor for me was a game changer. Everything from video to gameplay is just so.. smooth, the colors pop, picture is crisp. The size is perfect for getting immersed yet not to big for a medium sized desk. Chose this over a curved screen because I also do online college course work, best of all worlds for work and play. Didn't notice I selected a model with no speakers but worked out as a soundbar sits nicely on the stand.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Still Problems with G-Sync I've had this monitor for a couple of days now and it still has the black outs associated with G-Sync. If you disable G-Sync the blackouts go away but you encounter lag and poor performance. I am running it off a Lenovo Legion 5 Gen 6 Laptop with the 3050 Ti graphics processor. At this time I could not recommend this monitor to anyone.

Colors and customizability options make it so i have the best accuracy for how a screen should look, and the native 165hz refresh rate is just the icing on the cake. I cant speak well enough to the KVM switch, as well as the other handy features (VESA and headphone holder). I'd definitely be happy without these, but it came as a nice surprise since i wasnt expecting itz Easy 5/5

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good color, Good quality but Bad glare, Bad angles This monitor is fairly nice, the colors are good and the size is great, it's built very sturdy and has nice features, but there's some issues like less than optimal screen fade around the edges unless you have your head like 3 ft away and perfectly centered, and the material they used for the screen reflects a lot of light so glare is moderately to really bad in anything but near total darkness even if the light source is fairly far away and off to the side (and if you have windows in the room you better have dark curtains or play exclusively at night). Another minor gripe is the USB port supports a charge mode you can toggle on, but it's a very slow charging port, probably 5V2A or less. For a nearly $500 monitor I don't think it would have been terribly expensive to make it adaptive fast charging to increase the convenience. I don't know that the fade at the edges of the screen is really a fault of design so much as just reaching the size limit a flat panel can be at this DPI. If it were curved I don't think this would be an issue. It's a shame to have such a nice stand with good ergonomics that you really can't use because the edges of the screen will blur and fade if you're not at the perfect angle. I think this monitor is a good deal though if you can get it around $350-380.

There was a problem where the monitor would enter a power save mode for a few seconds or longer that was supposedly fixed. A lot of people still complain about it on the forums. Using DisplayPort is Windows no longer gives me issues but I still get the black screens under any linux distribution I have tried. Using HDMI works fine so that's all I use until the DisplayPort issue gets totally corrected. Aside from the black screen issue, its a great monitor. It's a huge upgrade from my 32 inch 60 Hz panel. Colors look great with just the right brightness. Coupled with perksatwork this monitor is a great deal. If you're a Windows user, definitely get this! If you dual boot like me, I would recommend shying away from this unless you're ok with using HDMI 2.0 The black screens will drive you crazy!

I did have a stuck pixel on the first monitor I received from Lenovo, but I was able to easily exchange for a new one that's been working perfectly. Looks great out the box and I haven't felt the need to recalibrate it. I also don't think the menu controls on the monitor are that bad. If I had to name one bad thing, it would be that running sound through the aux jack sounds terrible.
