Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for the price I had the Thinkpad 13 before and needed a larger 15" screen to work from home. So I bought the E15 AMD R7 4700 that was on discount on Lenovo eShop. So compared to the 13: - it does feel cheaper and less sturdy. materials feel more plastic. - the keyboard is less snappy, the travel course of the keys is shorter. But it's still better than on any other brands - the screen is actually pretty bad out of the box: dark, dull colors, tight viewing angles. Then I adjusted some settings on the AMD Radeon software, and I managed to tune the screen to something much more adequate for everyday usage. But still not as good as on the Thinkpad 13. - battery life is similar at around 5 hours of normal office usage, but I use it plugged most of the time. - lots of ports, just missing the SD card reader - having a larger screen is much better for work, having a numpad too - more powerful, but I don't use it at full potential anyway Overall I'm happy with the features given the very attractive price. I don't regret taking the AMD version over the Intel, the price difference is huge.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Big Performance in a Well Built Package. Bought this Laptop for work from Microcenter. Retails for $650 as is. AMD 4500U 1080p IPS 8GB RAM 256GB SSD WiFi 6 The Positives: Excellent Battery Life - I easily get 8-10 hours a day with light to medium load applications. And I only charge the laptop to 80-85% most of the time. CPU performance - Easily handles all tasks and some gaming without too much fuss and does not run hot in the process. Keyboard - This is definitely one of the better keyboards that I have used in a Laptop, very good feedback and precision and very few mistypes as well as being a full size keyboard for how light and small the laptop is. Build Quality - This doesn't use metal like some of the higher end laptops, but the use of the materials (plastic and maybe polycarbonate) and how it was made, this laptop feels very sturdy and can easily take some abuse. Negatives: Screen - The Screen quality is Fair. Colors are fine but not the best and screen brightness is below average. In a well lit room you'll have to turn the brightness almost all the way up but if you plan on using outside, forget it, you'll be squinting your eyes the entire time. So if you do any kind of photo or video editing, look somewhere else. Keyboard (Minor) - Physically this is a good keyboard, but the one minor issue with it is that there is no backlighting so using it in the dark will be difficult. Speakers - A lot of effort was put into the sound quality of the speakers that much is apparent, however the location and direction the speakers face makes all of that effort useless. The speakers are on the front and near the bottom of the chassis. Meaning the sound coming out of them when placed on a flat surface or your lap will make them sound very muffled. They still get plenty loud, but better positioning of the speakers would of had a better pay off with the time they spent on making the speakers sound good. Conclusion: For work, and some gaming. This is honestly the perfect laptop. Compared to its intel counterpart, this is a better deal in every way. Better performance, better battery life, better storage, and it costs significantly less at the same time. For anyone looking for something for gaming or content creating, it's better to look at the higher end laptops for those cases.

The only issues I really have are the brightness of the display (it could be brighter) and the functioning of the fingerprint scanner (It can be quite inconsistent). Despite these issues, ThinkPad has continued its impressive record as one of the best laptop brands in the market.

Perfect for what I use it for: business / email / streaming. Drawbacks: No optical drive / no built in dvd interface. Had to download a file reader specifically for dvd / blu ray. Non-removable battery will make replacing the battery (when the time comes) an inconvenience.

I do like the fingerprint recognition because it saves time. The other 3 Lenovos were Ideapads and more inexpensive. I ran out of room on the disc drive on the last one so I was pleased to get this new one.

Finally a laptop with this suoer AMD cpus, just incredible fast, they keyboard as always in a lenovo super good, the feeling of the product itself is pretty good, having the nipple mouse is the best. The ethernet port a bit tigth to use and I wish you can find more configurations of this model or having the option to customize. And even better wish to have this kind of configuration with AMD in the carbon models.

Only small issue is that it is slightly off level so that when I use it, it rocks and taps the tabletop at the right front of the laptop. I do agree with some of the reviewer on this site and Youtube that despite the larger screen it is not clear compare to the laptop which my office has provided separately and the images is less crisp (but again for work/leisure, it is fine). The sound and mic works well too but I'm just a bit disappointed with the quality of the webcam. The RAM size is good enough for work and school and I love the extra slot for RAM and SSD which allow us to upgrade in the future. I also tried gaming with this laptop but its not that suitable as it gets heated up during gaming. Overall, other than the delay in shipment, the experience with this laptop has been pleasant and I'm satisfied with the purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Laptop I have purchased several Thinkpads over the years and just like my other ones this one is terrific Good build quality and battery life, its fast and has a decent amount of storage space and the keyboard is easy to type on. I got it to use for online classes and it works great for that. Lenovo has good prices on these computers and you can own a Thinkpad for what you can buy a budget laptop for in the stores. I looked at a lot of computers and none to me were worth paying what they were asking for them. But I am a Lenovo person so...nothing but a Thinkpad for me is going to suffice. Buy yourself one of these E15s you wont regret it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pretty snappy and responsive! Bought this recently for a personal laptop for my girlfriend. As a teacher, she needed something to work from home that wasn't going to lack in performance. The laptop has yet to disappoint her. After initial setup was complete (Lenovo Vantage updates, installation of software, and minimal uninstall of bloatware), she was up and running and hasn't had one complaint. The AMD processor is responsive and with the 16g of 3200 Mhz DDR4, it's performing beautifully for what she does. I opted for this model for the sale price, the features, and past experience with Thinkpads. This isn't a gaming rig, and she has no plans to game as it only has on-board graphics, however, I don't see where this wouldn't be able to handle light weight game on occasion or at least 2 external displays (or 1 big one). She does travel on occasion and this is billed as tough enough for the bumps and jostling of traveling. Overall, a really nice device!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding laptop for the price. Very happy with this machine, especially for the price. The new AMD 4xxx series processors in these laptops are just nuts, amazing value. I bought this mainly for coding, and because it has upgradable ram and PCIe/Sata slots for expanding SSDs. On top of that, the keyboard is very comfortable and feels much better than 90% of the laptops out there (even the 3000 dollar Surface/Macs). All in all, you're getting a very powerful little machine, a great keyboard and upgradability for future proofing. For this price I'm not expecting anything more, but if I did have to nitpick it would be that the display is too dim, the battery is just OK, and the cooling system could be improved. If Lenovo can make those upgrades with this series within the price range, that would be amazing.

I love the keyboard layout of Thinkpads a lot, and this one was very nice to type on. AMD processor gave it excellent performance. and 8GB of RAM has been great for all my tasks so far. For upgrade potential, there is one M.2 bay and one RAM slot accessible, which seems fine enough for this price range of laptop.

The laptop is easy to setup out of the box and does not come loaded with extra unnecessary software. The screen is nice and bright, of course not at the MacBook resolution but still easy to use for most applications. The outside though is somewhat cheaper plastic than what I have come to expect of Thinkpad. Easy to catch fingerprints and feels less solid. Otherwise a great laptop for the short time that we have used it for.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best value! Exceed my expectation! Superfast! Beautiful! I like an antiglare screen. The keyboard might be better than laptop brands, but still not the ThinkPad keyboard in good old days. I wish Lenovo could make screen with aspect ratio of 3:2 or 5:4.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Performance and storage great!! Battery life :( I found a really good deal for this computer online at a discounted price plus with a coupon, it was a no brainer. The storage (1 TB and RAM (16 GB) offered at the price was really impressive as well as including the new AMD Ryzen 4700 CPU. The only thing that's not at all impressive is the battery life. At best with regular usage, I can squeeze out anywhere from 5-6 hours, a far cry from the 10-12.7 shown in the specs page. Other than that, it performs just fine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from New not always better Tried new E15 gen2 w/AMD, right out of the box wifi failed. They wanted to sent tech to repair? Why ?? Laptop is 24hrs old. Let tech come but he was unable to repair- NOT a good sign if i have future issues. Returned for replacement keeping close watch. Buy laaptop that has been in production & proven stable. New is nice but wait until Lenovo can get the bugs worked out of production

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great laptop in a long line of excellent devices Well made laptop, comes without BS software installed. Good camera, good sound (something that was a bit of a problem in older Lenovo laptops). Overall, I enjoy using it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Machine but Just a Little Lacking Overall, I like the design of the new TP E15 Gen 2. However, there are a couple reasons why I can't give it a 5-star review. First and foremost as a LONG time user of TPs, I LOVE the Trackpoint - it's a big reason why I still purchase only TPs. The Trackpoint works well, but the left mouse button is located a bit too far to the left from the previous models and my muscle memory is really struggling with it. Secondly, I wish the E15 Gen 2 came with more out of the box memory. I did end up purchasing additional memory which is good because it was a bit too slow without the addition. Overall, I really love the design - it is a really great size and it is SLIM, (read - really slim!) OOH, and lastly, I wish the sound was a bit better too!! I would have liked louder volume.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Trouble When this computer was shipped to me it didn't work and wouldn't wake up from hibernate mode. When it did it couldn't connect with the wifi. But the design is amazing!
