Lenovo X1 extreme
The X1 extreme is a premium product.
Unfortunately, the fit and finish of the keyboard is poor, compared to my supposedly lesser T460s: the keys squeak, with the spacebar particularly loud. Touch typing is much more difficult, as the keys on the X1 bottom out, creating an uncomfortable effect that is hard on the fingers with extensive typing.
The battery life is good under light load, getting about 8 hours with 50% screen brightness, and battery set to balanced mode.
The laptop is powerful enough to run scientific programs such as loupe browser, or excel spreadsheets with 10,000 rows with ease. Fan noise is greater than my T460s, but not obtrusive.
The screen seems to have good colors, but seems dimmer at 300 nits than my T460s which is rate at 250 nits, perhaps because of the color mode chosen?
All in all, this could be a great all in all laptop, except that the keyboard makes word processing a painful process. Note that this keyboard is still a notch above others out there, it just doesn't reach the heights of T goodness.
Lesson: if you value thin and light at all costs, go for the X series. If you want an all rounder, with great keyboards, but perhaps less battery life, and fewer great screens, go with the T series

True flagship laptop
The magnesium chassis feels solid and lighter than other aluminum ones. The carbon fiber top looks beautiful.
4k version with 600 nits is very sharp, colors are great, and is enough to work in bright light. I prefer this non reflective screens to the glass ones.
Performance is relative, so you can check benchmarks for this laptop.

Impressed Performance
It’s as beautiful as I expected it to be. I would love to see X1 Extreme Yoga if possible. The ultimate laptop for any consumer to have it one. Games, work, creating, editing - No Problem. This beast handles it like it’s nothing. Highly recommended for content creators and work editor’s - Professional Grade with Extreme performance.

Sad and frustrated from
Defective computers, both Gen 3 and Gen 4.
I bought this last year. Within a few months camera and mic would not work. Since I pay for Premier support they sent out people to try to repair twice, which did not work. Finally asked me to send to the Depot, which I did, where they returned it to another state, not my home, and it was lost forever. They finally sent a Gen 4 to replace it and I am now awaiting a THIRD motherboard replacement. This is used for my business and I have lost countless hours of work and sleep due to this situation. I am SO DISAPPOINTED with Lenovo and these computers. I was an avid Lenovo user for decades but they have lost my trust.
