When I updated to Windows 11 there was a horrible lag when watching basic videos. Reverted back to 10. Everything else is wonderful but the graphics are meh

I'd gotten frustrated searching for just the right features, and called Lenovo with a question. The rep answered my questions and with my permission, located three laptops that had the features I wanted. I bought one of those - really appreciated the customer service. I've been using the laptop now for a few weeks and it's working as well as I'd hoped.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from WHY DID I UPGRADE? I had high hopes for this laptop since the specs far exceed my old, beloved IdeaPad P500 Touch. I have only had this new laptop for two weeks, but so far I'm disappointed. My IdeaPad seemed to work faster in many ways. The same Thinkpad X1 Extreme is available with a 2tb SSD hard drive at Best Buy, but lessor memory and GPU. Does that make sense? You can't get the 2tb hard drive from the manufacturer? I do appreciate the type and quantity of connection ports. The battery life is very, very good. I have not had the opportunity to use it with Adobe Lightroom since I'm having trouble migrating my software to the new laptop (Go figure!. I very much miss the LED's on the front of my IdeaPad; especially the one that alerts you to remaining battery life (the LED would turn orange at 20% remaining). I'm glad that I purchased the extended warranty since my wireless connection with this laptop provides an error message when trying to connect a variety of webpages 33%-50% of the time. I have yet to sort it out with tech support. I also need to talk to them about the use of Adobe RGB color space with the almost 4K display. Tech support could not get me to that setting, and told me to follow up with the sales department????????? We'll see. Overall, I expected much, much more from this machine. So far, it doesn't really deliver. Lenovo, you really don't have to make these laptops this thin and light. Bring things like installed CD/DVD burners and battery indicators back, PLEASE!

The OLED is very pretty and I find the touchscreen quite useful and easy to use. The track pad is good, but not as easy to use as my mac and I usually end up switching to an external mouse when running Solidworks or Altium. It's a bummer that there are no options for a more professional level GPU like the Quadro or RTX, but with the thunderbolt ports I may get an eGPU if I end up needing more linear algebra horse power.

Had some concerns about it's ability to handle complex assemblies. Easily installed 32Mb of RAM (Came with 8) and the GPU and CPU performed very well under the software's performance tests. It is sleek and lightweight. A pleasure to use. Thanks for a truly great value.

I always hate getting new computers and having to set them back up the way I want them, but this has been remarkably painless. My one criticism is that where my wrists ride below the keyboard, the material looks greasy really fast. (Maybe I'm just a greasy person, but I don't think so. The facial recognition for login is a little creepy to me, but it works really well. Unless I'm laughing very hard. I have learned that it can't read my face when I'm laughing.

The X1 is a fantastic machine, deserves 5 stars except I have had some initial troubling crashes/reboots for no apparent reason. For context, I use the X1 as a desktop machine and plug it into the ThinkPad Thunderbolt 4 Workstation Dock. I have several USB devices connected to a hub that connects to the docking station (6 items, including 2 cameras, external microphone, wireless headphone, mouse and keyboard, and other peripherals , I run dual monitors from USB-C port on the docking station, and ethernet into the docking station. The docking station is VERY HOT, and I had to move the USB dongle for keyboard/mouse to the laptop as the docking station simply was not working. All this has been fairly stable, but every now and again the laptop fan spins up and then the machine just reboots (and unfortunately I lose my current unsaved work). This is happened about 3 times the first month I had the laptop, but it has calmed down the second month so hopefully no more strange reboots. The rest of the laptop is great, at least the stuff I have used. ThinkPad keyboard are always great to the touch, and while not the same feel as older models like the T480, it is fine. The laptop is extremely light which is great. I have not had a chance to use it on battery only yet, but I would guess it works about the same as other higher end laptops. My X1 has i9-10885H CPU @ 2.4Ghz, 32GB RAM and running Windows 10 Pro. Happy so far with purchase!

Nice feel and works great when in use and stays cool. The Bad: Sometimes it closes all my browsers my work when I close the lid and sometimes it doesn't so don't know what's going on with that. Also, when I close the screen I can still hear the cooling fan going. My HP Z-book automatically went into sleep mode when I closed the laptop screen-I'm still trying to figure out how to fix this Lenovo. Overall, I like the laptop and trying to get it to work the way I want. I'm not sure I would recommend this one but I got a great deal on it so that's why I'm keeping it. Once it's up and running it's a great device and lightweight is important since I do a lot of traveling.

It's remarkably compact for the power and it's serving my assorted business and mild video editing needs well.

The only issue I have is the keyboard is slightly smaller than I am use to but my muscle memory is not use to the layout yet. I also went from having a separate keypad for numbers to just the numbers only being below the "f" keys which is somewhat less than ideal for working with a great deal of number (e.g., Excel but otherwise it is great. I also like that this machine does not have a 3 prong power cord.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Check forums online, this thing is unreliable Forums are filled with hundreds of people just like myself who have TONS of problems with this computer that Lenovo never fixes or cares about. BIOS updates will fail, it will randomly freeze or not restart, etc. The bottom of the case is weak, and bends easily. It gets so hot that it can't be put in a lap, and thermal lags all the time. The screen has no support, and presses against the keys until the pixels die.

I'm very pleased with the capabilities for performance expansion among many of Lenovo's product lines. I rolled out quite a few ThinkPad P-15's and got favorable responses from those who received them. I had a few complaints about the weight of the P-15, So I went looking for a solution and found it with the ThinkPad X1 Extreme Gen 3 Intel . It seems to be half the weight of the P-15 and performs very well with the Intel I-9 processor, 64gb memory and a solid state hard drive. I'm sure that whatever your computing needs are, Lenovo's product lines can satisfy you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Extreme speed, extreme heat Overall great laptop! The screen is really nice quality, and runs top of the line for being 2 generations old. However, runs very hot, not fun to have on your lap - really needs a lap fan which isn't ideal to carry around all the time. I use it mostly as a workstation so it isn't as much of a problem. Also, the battery life is pretty low - probably doesn't help that the screen is running so many pixels, but worth it for me since I don't use it too much in one long chunk on the go without plugging it in!
