Entire configuration and ordering process went smoothly. Only thing I couldn't figure out was how to add a parallel port... was mentioned as an option elsewhere but could not find specific configuration option when ordering. Oh well... can add later if needed using one of spare PCIe slots.

The BIOS provides each access and understanding and is layout without having to search deep for settings. All the components were exactly the same for all the units we purchased. I cannot say that for the HP or Dell systems. Overall EXTREMELY happy with the desktop which replaced our Dell line.

I wanted a machine a bit faster than the old laptop and I have accomplished that. was disappointment that it did not come with WIFI or Bluetooth but everything else seems to be working well. or course it was 1/2" to wide for my shelf so it's stood on end. didn't need the mouse and keyboard but... Easy setup.

I found two drawbacks: it is somewhat slow in booting up, and the Ethernet connection is not consistent, sometimes it can’t connect and other times connects right away; this is without me doing any changes to the system or wiggling any wires.

The service department called, spent a long time trying to work on it online, but when it couldn't be fixed they replaced it. Very happy with the prompt service. I would buy it again.

Also shuts off and opens quickly. This unit is small and saves space. The negative aspect is the solid state drive has only 256 GB.

I got this to replace my classroom computer where I use it for everything from web browsing to 3D modeling. I keep a million tabs open while utilizing many different pieces of software and this thing doesn't even break a sweat. Love the option for the SD card slot in the front and the lock slot which gives me piece of mind leaving my property at the school over vacations and such.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Generally very good but a USB issue This is a good computer for a decent price. Its fast (I am not a gamer) and compact and I’m generally happy with the purchase. I'm using it to manage personal finances and some online streaming. I marked it down to 4 stars due to 2 USB issues: 1) All the rear ports are USB 2.0 according to the manual. I should have read the manual before making the purchase. My plan was to run my portable USB 3.0 hard drive from the USB hub on my monitor. As a result, I now have the permanent USB cable from my monitor plugged into the front of the computer instead of the back. Yuck. 2) I am unable to get my mouse to work on any USB port other than the rear top left port (I tried 3 different mice). With the mouse in any other port, it performs very jerky like it's not getting the interrupts correctly. If I remove the mouse and plug it in again while the computer is on, it will start working correctly. But that is not an acceptable solution. The rear top left port is the port that supports the smart power on feature. I suspect that's why it works in that port. The mouse is constantly powered on as I can see the red LED on the mouse even when the computer is turned off. I probably should return this computer due to this issue but making returns is a pain. And this work-around is acceptable to me.

Right out of the box the unit was ready to set up. Have had the PC for a bit over a month and it’s fast and clean. WiFi connection via xfinity hasn’t hurt, internet now rocks. Anything plug-and-play has been easily recognized, drivers loaded, and ready to use. Even a small unit like this is expandable, probably going to boost RAM to 32Gb in the next couple of months

After much frustration, went with my organization's technical gurus' recommendations and bought this (more expensive but also more economical in the long run) computer from Lenovo. Set up was a breeze, and the solid state drive is a point of no return. Bootup on my BB computer took six (6) minutes. Bootup on this ThinkCentre takes like 12 seconds (I may be exaggerating, but it's close). The CPU is compact, virtually silent, and doesn't produce a ton of heat. Its specs are impressive, as is its longevity guarantee. Yes, more expensive at the front end, but given that this baby will likely serve for the rest of my career, I'm not only satisfied but delighted.

I like the four USB's in front as well as USB's in back, and the DVD/CD writer is very important to me. The headphone/microphone jacks are easy to reach, too. The performance is as it should be for its specs. Adding printers was a breeze. You get a lot for the money with this unit.

The machine looks great on a desk and I am very pleased with the build quality. This is a business class computer, but with the quad core Intel Processor inside I can easily record and edit video without fear of crashes, and although I won't be doing any next gen gaming, casual gaming is a snap. For business needs this is a great machine that brings style and durability to my desktop without taking up too much space or too much money out of my wallet. I am very pleased with the computer and after rigorous research, I would recommend it as a high end budget solution to anyone looking for a quality work tool. As an added bonus, this machine is quiet and has a nice assortment and quantity of ports.

I was dissapointed the hard disk drive that came with it was a small form factor laptop drive while it had the space for a full sized drive. That was the only disappointing surprise, I would like to see an hdmi port since it has VGA and display port but that was known when purchasing so I can't count it against it.

I needed to replace my bulky legacy tower unit but didn't want to sacrifice storage or processing power. By using higher capacity SSD drives combined with a new Intel i5-8240 CPU, I was able overcome this challenge. The case is very modular and has the capability for drive, RAM, and video upgrades. However, I would strongly advise that any orders placed online at lenovo.com be triple checked for accuracy before submission as they are nearly impossible to cancel once executed.

It's now fully functional for my use and so far is working well. The only issue we had was to add a storage drive I needed to buy a splitter cable from the Power source and did have a problem adding the wireless card in the slot provided. But it is all installed at this point.

Only changes I would suggest is to mount the ports and power switch on the front higher, right under the DVD player. As it is, the keyboard bumps up against the headphone/mic and obstructs the USB and SD ports. Other than that, no complaints.

It's reliable and perfect for my needs. I have cloud storage through microsoft so I could save some money by getting a model with slightly less memory, but the hardware is fast, reliable and runs everything I need to work. Although there are better models for entertainment specific needs, it still plays videos and games in high quality without slowing down the system at all. All around a great computer and a great purchase. Would definitely recommend Lenovo generally, and the M720 SFF specifically, for any professional or student tasked with doing significant research and projects. Lenovo works so you can too.

I'm self-employed working in a small office so I had to make all the physical connections to get it operating myself. Despite being rather technically inept, it was easy to hook up and get working. It's small enough to sit on top of my desk so that made it even easier to connect without worrying about cord length or losing track of which cord goes where. So far it has been fast and relatively quiet. For reference, I work in a document intensive industry with primary uses being word processing and research. As far as sound, I can hear it running on my desk and I wasn't sure initially if I'd have to move it under my desk, but so far it has been unobtrusive enough that I've been able to ignore it (though I notice it enough that I'd probably move it it wouldn't be such a hassle). Good price point and does the job.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lenovo was the way to go... I have been using computers since 1985, jumping from one company to another. In 2020 I had to upgrade our computers. Lenovo met all our demands with their custom computer offers and the price points. Add to that their excellent customer service and you can get a great computer at a good price.
