The lack of USB and other connections make it difficult to use in a home office environment without the use of the dockiing station. The station is good quality and has the connections needed to complete a dock to external monitors and other USB accessories.

It does not clutter my desk and has just enough plugs for everything I need for my two monitors on my desk when I plug my laptop into it. Extra bonus that this charges my ThinkPad X380 Yoga laptop at the same time so I don't need to worry about plugging in the charger. Highly recommend!

Rated 5 out of 5 byDockHappy from simple to set up / works wellused with an X1 Yoga 2nd Gen with WQHD display - connect a single USB C cable to back of dock along with 2 HDMI cables from two 24" monitors with 1920 x 1080, GB ethernet cable - everything works well never any problem with connectivity etc. Dock mac address is registered with network security software etc... never had a problem disconnecting / coming back to dock or using stand alone - it works well without hassles. I occasionally use the always on power from USB 3 for my cell phone.

They are identical 29" monitors. all the other peripheral attachments work without any special set up. I am very pleased with the dock and it has made my work life much better.

Rated 5 out of 5 byDNA_Lor from Only Work Partially. USB C does not have PD ShareAfter I consulted with the online Lenovo rep, I bought this Thinkpad USB-C Dock for my Ideapad 720S 15-IKB laptop. My initial concern was the USB C cable will only provide external display (via DisplayPort) or power delivery, but my fear is now realized: I cannot charge my laptop and, simultaneously, have visual feedback on external monitor. During my chat session, the Lenovo rep reassured me THREE TIMES that the ThinkPad USB C dock will work with my IdeaPad 720S 15" laptop. Now I may have to deal with shipping at 3rd party vendor and pay up for the shipping expense.
