Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice device, can be very helpfulThis is a hand tool to have around if you have an extensive network. I purchased this to help assess some undocumented ports & patches at an old facility I was getting into. This tool can be extremely helpful in diagnosing where a connection leads from either end. You can even get the length of a open ended cable if you are trying to find where a connection is lost. The feature I think is most powerful I have found to be be inconsistent -- If you connect this to a port in a remote location, this device has the capability to report in great detail the switch name and exact port # it is plugged into. However, I have found this feature to be inconsistent, even when diagnosing connections on the same managed switch. One connection will get you full details of where you are patched into. The next port will only get you link speed.
