Combining superior resiliency, enterprise-class security and non-blocking performance, NETGEAR Stackable PoE Managed Gigabit switch GSM7228PS offers a full set of layer 2 management features, as well as layer 2+ (layer 3 lite - IPv4 routing) with unsurpassed affordability. The GSM7228PS series can be deployed at enterprise edge, remote branch offices and closer to the core of small and medium businesses' growing networks.

NETGEAR ProSAFE M4100-50G 50-Port Gbe Managed Switch w/SFP (GSM7248-200NAS) is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 9.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent Small Business Managed Gigabit Switch for companies who don't have the budget for enterprise level gear (Brocade, Cisco, HP, etc). These switches are very fast and have a large set of features for the price.Pros: Inexpensive, fast, handles simple VLAN and routing tasks, provides a lot of reporting and status information for the price category.Cons: The command line is now available but not what it should be for folks who are used to using a command line. Lack of proper command set and familiar ways of doing things really hurt those who may want to use these switches on small projects. Also, the VLAN configuration is not as intuitive as I would have hoped.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from This is not a bad switch if you need to get something up and running in a hurry or if you do not need an expensive high power switch.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to configure. Stable. Tech Support is spotty, so don't expect much help, but the web interface is very workable. Apparently it uses the same underlying hardware and software as the newer Dell PowerConnects.Performance is above average which yields an excellent bang-for-the-buck rating.
