Rated 5 out of 5 by from Usual exceptional sound qualityHad this a little over a year and it has the usual superb technology I have come to expect from Plantronics. Only down side is the design engineers either fell asleep at the wheel or just didn't care when it came to the over the ear headpiece. Loose fitting and fairly painful to wear for ANY length of time, let alone 7 or 8 hours.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from UnusableThe instructions are awful. I still don't know if I have it connected correctly. When I try to use it all I get is a loud ear piercing squeal. I have no idea what cords or connections I'm suppose to use. Two weeks after I got the unit, more cords showed up. These still don't work.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not worth the hassleI use this headset for my job. I've been through 2 in less than 2yrs. For $350 a pop they should get more life out of them. The base stops charging and the headsets lose their charge too quickly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from New CS540 stopped working after a month or soI bought the CS540 headset for work to use with my Lucent 6408D+ phone. The headset was easy to set up, and worked great at first. But after a month or so, it suddenly stopped working. I cannot hear a dial tone anymore. If I press any buttons on the headset, I can hear the beeping, but no dial tone when I attempt to make a call. I tried unplugging everything and starting over -- nothing. I tried unpairing and then pairing the headset and the base -- nothing. I tested the headset on another collegue's phone -- nothing. I tried using another cord -- nothing. I finally gave up and called Plantronics customer service. They asked me some questions, and had me try a couple of things, but again -- no luck. So they finally gave me a case number, and sent me an email with instructions to request a replacement. It was a fairly easy process, though, it would have been nice if they could just request the replacement for me over the phone, rather than me having to go to their website, create an account, etc. We'll see if how quickly they can send me a replacement, if the replacement works, and how long it continues to work.....But for now, I can only give this 1 star. My collegue, however, has the same headset and has been using it for years with no problems. So I don't know if I was just unlucky and got a defective one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Headset lasted 3 years of near-daily useAlthough we had to tape it together after year one of use, the headset functioned for three years with no problems. It is sadly now dead, but three years isn't too bad!
