I wanted to speed up the number crunching in some specialized wireless communications engineering applications that I use in my work. They did the job.An added benefit is that when I travel overseas to unstable locations, I can easily replace the SSD with a sanitized and encrypted drive. Then if my laptop is lost or confiscated, it is only an inconvenience and not a catastrophe. I highly recommend this SSD.
