The Targus Drifter II Laptop Backpack is designed to fit laptops with up to 16” screens. This backpack features two large compartments for storage including a padded laptop compartment that keeps the device secure and separate from other items carried in the case. The extremely thick padding on the back panel includes a large hidden zippered compartment and is strategically placed to provide lumbar support for your back. The heavily padded shoulder straps provide comfort for travel and include an elastic loop specifically designed to hold sunglasses on the shoulder strap. The main front compartment includes pockets for business cards, a mesh accessory pocket and key clip. A convenient soft, lined pocket is scratch-resistant to store fragile accessories such as glasses, and more. To keep files in order, the interior divider provides a safe place to store documents. Focusing on durability, the Drifter backpack features a weather-resistant bottom, thick industrial zipper pulls and a sturdy molded plastic handle supported by metal grommets and cabling. The Drifter Backpack offers a rugged case full of storage options and protective compartments for important devices.

Great product
Exactly as described. Appears to be well made and heavy duty. Bought for son’s freshman year at college in the fall.

Great product
I really like this back pack. It sufficiently protects my laptop, has a lot of compartments for peripherals and it appears to be ruggedly built.

REALLY Love This Backpack!!!!
This is a great, roomy, sturdy backpack. Tons of pockets. It holds my whole load of groceries and then some. No, seriously. The "TSA friendly" laptop pocket works, depending on the TSA person (as everything does); but you can't have anything (even power cables) in that pocket with the laptop (at least according to the TSAgent who explained it to me).

One of the best backpacks in my experience.
This is the perfect backpack for traveling and work. Extremely durable and held up carrying 1012 pounds of equipment and clothes. The layout and pockets are amazing, and it has so many compartments its hard to keep count.
That was the onky drawback, I lost an important document for a couple days till I found that pocket again. Hehe.
The lower back cushion is also a pocket. I own another Targus laptop case, but this backpack holds close to double its capacity. I would say Targus maintains an acceptable level of quality with all the products I've used to date. If you travel with cloths and a laptop, this is the backpack to get.
Keep it going Targus.

HUGE!
If you need space you'll find it in this backpack. It's massive! This has more pockets than you can remember where you put everything. I'm sure you could pack three days worth of stuff if need be. The organization of the pack is good and the pockets seem nicely planned for almost any need. Although I have not hiked with it I do wear it while carrying other items ie. lunch box etc and it fits the body nicely and the straps have some stretch to them that seems an intuitive feature. The one thing I have become annoyed with is that each compartment is not separated at the bottom. When you stow stuff in one section it works itself over time to the bottom and the bottom is not segregated so what you are looking for may actually be residing in a different area then where you left it. A small thing I suppose but annoying just the same. I'd say it is worth the money. And I likely would buy it again. Great bag all around.

great backpack for its longevity
This is a great backpack for its longevity, quality build, size, and design. Why?
1) Build/Longevity: I have owned this backpack for three years. In those three years I have used this backpack everyday to go to and from school (five days a week with a laptop and books in it), for hiking, and for travel. I travel a lot and use budget airlines, which means carry-on and no checked luggage (to save money). This thing has survived the clothes, toiletries, books, electronics, and the rigors of air travel (being stuffed under seats, in the overhead, in trunks, out in the woods, etc.).
2) Size/Design: I own a 17.3 inch laptop (Vaio VPCF2290x) and it fits with room to spare. The pockets are great for storing many different types of things: books, clothes, groceries, tools, etc.
3) Quality: I have put this backpack through its paces and it has never let me down. Heavy loads, outdoors (hiking, beach, etc.), planes, and so on. This thing laughs at 5 liters of liquid (I had to carry groceries in this).
4) Comfort: the pads on the back are a nice touch and the straps don't dig into your shoulders even when fully loaded.
5) Targus has a lifetime warranty on all their bags...yes, I said lifetime warranty.
Need I say more?

Versatile backpack!
Great pocket space for your multiple items like pens/pencils, papers/briefs, water bottle, keys and other accessories. Very sporty looking with ample room for all of your items. Perhaps a little heavier than I thought but I love this backpack!

Everything you could possibly want and more.
So I got this it was my first backpack ever and it has so many uses and wonderfulness to it.! I think the only complaint I have is there so many zippers sometimes I have to look three or four times to find my stuff which is a complaint I gladly have. Did I mention it stands up most of the time

Backpack
Bought this for my husband. He had an old Targus backpack, which had a similar (yet different layout and he likes that a bit more. No faults with this backpack, but he just liked his old (but needed to be retired) backpack more.

Great laptop backpack
Got the backpack for my son to take to college. He loves it. It holds all his books, laptop and tablet. Lots of pockets, easy access. The only complaint I have at all, the zippers are very noisy as you walk. They are heavy and seem well made but clang together as you walk. Not a big deal.
