Tripp Lite's 8-port console KVM switch with 17" LCD is the optimal solution for controlling multiple computers from one keyboard, mouse and monitor. This single unit combines an 8 port KVM switch, keyboard, 17" LCD monitor and touchpad; all in a mere 1U of rack space. Stores neatly in the rack, pulls out when needed. Control up to 504 computers from this single console by daisy-chaining additional B022-016 or B022-U16 16 port KVM switches. Easily switch ports using the On-Console push buttons, On Screen Display (OSD) or keyboard hot key commands. Control PS/2 or USB computers/servers using P774-Series (PS/2) and P776-Series (USB) KVM Cable kits. Includes an extra HD15 and (2) PS/2 ports on the rear of the unit, which allows for connection of a Tripp Lite B051-000 IP Remote Access Unit or an external console. Compatible with all major operating systems except Mac and Sun. Constructed of heavy-duty steel housing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Piece of Rack Mounted EquipmentThis is a beautiful piece of rack mounted equipment to connect the 8 servers with one click of a button. I am very happy with this equipment. Initially, when I setup the NetDirector 8-Port 1U Rack-Mount Console KVM Switch with 17-in. LCD in the rack and tried to use the after market cables to connect the servers in the rack, it didn't work. It was only showing the monitor but keyboard and mouse was not effective with non-proprietary connection cables. This is the only negative thing that we can mention. Other than this issue the unit is very helpful. We are glad that we made a right decision for purchasing this equipment.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good itemThis console is one of the best I've used. It's well made, tough and easy to use. I have a cage with 7 servers and this does the job nicely.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Minor improvements would make this perfectReplaced our old HP KVM switch with this Tripp Lite NetDirector. It was very easy to install and setup. The screen looks crisp and clear on all 5 devices. Fast and responsive switching between devices, and easy to tell what is on and active. I only have two small issues with it - opening the lid is a two handed operation since it is extremely tight and I wish the UI wasn't out of the 80's. Both are more preferences than anything else, but these would make this thing near perfect. Definitely a good buy so far and willing to purchase again.
