The Pocket Fiber Tester also tests for continuity on your fiber optic cable. It generates an 850-nm wavelength only. The tester works with these fiber optic cables: multimode; 50-, 62.5-, and 100-micron; simplex, duplex, or bundled.
To test cable that’s already installed, use a Pocket Opto Source with a Pocket Fiber Tester. Send a beam of light from your Opto Source down the cable, so someone at the other end can receive the signal in the tester.
Both testers and the Opto Source work on multimode cable.
