Product Reviews
Rated 4.4 out of 5 by 60reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by I've moved several clients from their local ISP email solutions to Rackspace. In each case, the migration was completely painless and the Rackspace technical support was excellent. September 6, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by I highly recommend Rackspace for anybody that is trying to get away from POP or IMAP. Pricing is better than most August 29, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by We just switched our email hosting to Rackspace. Everything is working as promised.GDI1877806Very easy to work with support.Mike May 2, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by We just switched to rackspace for email. The help through chat has been excellent. Very knowledgeable support staff. Problem solved April 18, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Had great success with email delivery when we switched to Rackspace's Hosted Email solution a few years back! Our organization is a Mac house and got it to work. Just watch out for Mac Mail. Not the best mail client for Exchange January 6, 2016
Rated 2 out of 5 by Good spam filtering but downtime is an issue. We have the generic Rackspace email accounts with a few Exchange accounts. Exchange users have a somewhat better experience thanks to everything going back to a centralized server, but they suffer from the same downtime issues. October 26, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by I looked to Rackspace after I grew tired of running my own Exchange server for my personal email. Lets face it, it was a great idea when I was looking to learn more about Exchange (our organization doesn't yet run it) but as many of us in the industry find ourselves stretched thin I decided it was time to offload that burden and free up some of my time while still having the email and scheduling features I came to depend on available to me with a reliable host. Rackspace fit the bill perfectly. Reliable hosted email for a fair price with a reputable company, can't complain. The ability to add accounts in a mixed environment is nice too, I use Exchange for my own email while giving my son a standard email account on my domain for an extra $2 since he doesn't need the advanced features. Would definitely recommend. January 25, 2015
Rated 2 out of 5 by I would give RackSpace's email hosting solution a 2.5 star rating if possible, but I'd rather give them a 2 instead of a generous 3. It seems every week they find another thing they can't do. Tasks like renaming, migrations, resynchronizing, and application upgrades are apparently really tough for them. Sharepoint is stuck back at 2007, no upgrade path offered. With regards to their support, their tech staff can get pretty snarky whether you're on the phone, e-chatting, or trading ticket entries. If you have ever wondered why users think all IT people are arrogant trolls, we have run into some prime examples over there. I tell my team I had better not ever hear them treating our clients like RackSpace treats us. Worse yet, unless your request involves RackSpace pontentially making more money from your account, responses to help requests can take a while to receive a response. Here are the positives now that I have front-loaded with gripes. The simple things like autodiscover in Outlook work quickly, and the mailbox sizes have become pretty generous for this price point. The documentation (though cluttered with older versions) is thorough and easy to follow. Lighting up new accounts is quick and easy to do. The layout of their UI makes sense and has a very quick learning curve. We have experienced no down-time or major technical issues beyond the limitations mentioned in the above paragraphs.Bottom line is there are better options out there for these services. Since RackSpace's main focus is co-lo and VPS hosting, that's no surprise. . . just disappointing and at times very frustrating. October 15, 2014
