Riverbed Granite storage delivery eliminates the complexity of branch office IT infrastructure including backup and restore, simplifying the recovery of servers, applications, and minimizing data loss after disaster and outages. With Granite, businesses can restore operations in a matter of minutes versus days and consolidate branch office servers into the datacenter without sacrificing any of the benefits of having servers at the edge close to users. Granite centrally protects and secures data, and significantly lowers the TCO of branch and remote offices. Riverbed Granite delivers software enhancements that increase scalability, extend data protection options, and enhance operational efficiency.

VGC-1500 series delivers greater capacity for Virtual Granite Core deployments, scaling to support more branches and larger datasets. For organizations committed to virtualization in the data center, the VGC 1500 series enables greater capability from a single virtual appliance, simplifying management and reducing cost.

New snapshot integration capabilities provide application - consistent data protection in conjunction with a greater number of data center storage arrays. Enhanced Granite snapshot support improves recovery point and recovery time objectives for branch servers and data, minimizing the impact of outages at remote branch offices. Greater IT ecosystem integration enables organizations to derive more value from existing data center investments and simplifies administration.

VGC-1500-L supports 30 branches and up to 20TB.

Customers can now use Atomic Test and Set controls seamlessly from the VMware vStorage APIs for Array Integration (VAAI) on a VMFS volume served through Granite. ATS support enables granular disk locking on storage volumes and improves VM performance compared with locking using SCSI reservations.

LUN Expansion support auto-detects LUN size increases made on a data center storage array and propagates the change to the branch Granite appliance. This support makes it fast and easy to provision additional centralized capacity to support growing branch requirements.

Auto-licensing Support with auto-licensing, Granite appliances automatically connect with Riverbed licensing servers to retrieve and install license keys, simplifying configuration and upgrade management.
