Product Reviews
Xerox 8580/DN while supplies last limit 5($749-$374 savings=$375) is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 27.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Processes print jobs too slow! We have the 8570DN and purchased the 8580DN in Dec 2016. The printer for some reason processes print jobs way to slow. when we print from 8570DN we do not have the same problem. Xerox Tech support could not come up with a answer to why it processes each page so slowly :-/ The 8570DN prints about 3 seconds per page, when we print the same file with the 8580DN it prints about 17 seconds per page. The quality of the prints seem to be on par with the 8570 though.. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ms We use our printer for our Church. Previously had an older model for about 8 years and while it was a good printer, it just wore down from so much use. Ordered the 8580/DN because it was such a good deal. This is our third Xerox printer and I can't see us ever using anything else. Excellent customer care. I can't say enough good things about this product. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent vinyl laser paper printer and how to make wireless We were looking to replace a Brother Printer that we use to print labels on vinyl paper laser stock. This printer does a great job and at a fraction of the cost. We wanted to make the printer wireless and the wireless board from Xerox was $200 so we tried the IOmega Ethernet2 Wireless for $49 and it made the printer wireless. Will recommend this add-on [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful output Only had this printer for 2 months and so far, it's great. I had a Xerox 8400 that went through ink like water but this machine seems to not do that...a tech told me that it cleans itself less than the 8400. The ColorQube was very noisy at first but there is a setting for Noise Reduction. The free service for life offer is great except it only lasts for as long as Xerox supports this model. The quality of the output is beautiful. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good printer with issues I've used this printer for 2 weeks and I am impressed by the print quality which is significantly better than that of similar priced printers from other companies. This printer uses solid ink sticks which need to be heated and, from my limited experience, leads to significant waste of ink. I've emptied the waste containers in the printer twice after only 200 prints. This may not happen if I were to print all pages at once, but my needs are a few pages at a time which leads to repeated heating and cooling of these sticks. 200 pages reduced my ink levels by 20%. So, rather than getting 3,000 pages from each ink stick, as promised by Xerox, I may be looking at about 1,000 pages instead. Considering that each black stick costs about $50 and each color stick about $75, this leads to a pretty hefty cost per printed page. Also, the printer is extremely sensitive to fluctuations in the electricity supply which is indeed mentioned in the manual. The recommendation is to not plug it into a surge protector but directly into a wall outlet which is not an option for me, hence the printer has restarted itself repeatedly which leads to more waste of ink. Print speed is indeed about 20 pages per minute which I consider excellent. If the printer is warmed up, the first page prints within 10 seconds. If the printer needs warming up, the first page prints after 1 minute 45 seconds. If the printer is turned off, total initialization and warm up take about 10 -11 minutes! If you buy the printer, consider getting the Xerox concierge service which gives you free service for the lifetime of the printer. Rated 4 out of 5 by from Take the Good with the Bad Our office has and still own multiple ColorQube printer models from the 8550 to 8580 over the last 10 years. The good is that the print quality and speed are second to none. The bad includes: high solid ink consumption and cost; expensive maintenance kit; long warm-up time; noisy; printhead issues and broken internal gears. Our printers operate problem-free anywhere from less than 1 year to 3 years. The bottom line is that when these printers are working, they are great (printed pages do not "curl" or "wave" like laser printers). Otherwise, you just have to know what you are dealing with. Since 2 sets of replacement solid ink equal the price of a new printer, it's really not a big deal to replace the printer when it goes bad. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
